Abstract: A mulch barrier film having, for example, a methyl bromide permeability of less than about 15 g/m2-hr and machine direction Elmendorf tear strength of at least about 75 gf. The mulch barrier film is an extruded, cast, and preferably embossed, multilayer film having at least one polyolefin layer and at least one polyamide layer. The combination of the film structure and the casting process achieves a barrier film that has low permeability to volatile soil treatment chemicals, such as methyl bromide, and superior tear strength properties.

Abstract: A method for forming a ultralow dielectric constant layer with controlled biaxial stress is described incorporating the steps of forming a layer containing Si, C, O and H by one of PECVD and spin-on coating and curing the film in an environment containing very low concentrations of oxygen and water each less than 10 ppm. A material is also described by using the method with a dielectric constant of not more than 2.8. The invention overcomes the problem of forming films with low biaxial stress less than 46 MPa.

Abstract: It is possible to efficiently capture heavy metal contamination due to ion implantation or high-temperature heat treatment in a bulk layer. It is characterized that the present method comprises: a step of implanting oxygen ions into a wafer 11; a step of applying first heat treatment to a wafer under a predetermined gas atmosphere at 1,300 to 1,390° C. and forming a buried oxide layer 12 and an SOI layer 13 by applying first heat treatment to a wafer at 1,300 to 1390° C.; a second heat treatment step in which a wafer before oxygen ions are implanted has an oxygen concentration of 9×1017 to 1.8×1018 atoms/cm3 (old ASTM) and a buried oxide layer is formed entirely or locally in the wafer to form oxygen precipitate nuclei 14b formed in the wafer before the oxygen ion implantation step or between the oxygen ion implantation step and the first heat treatment step; and a third heat treatment step of growing oxygen precipitate nuclei 14b formed in the wafer so as to be oxygen precipitates 14c.

Abstract: An interface material comprising a resin mixture and at least one solder material is herein described. The resin material may comprise any suitable resin material, but it is preferred that the resin material be silicone-based comprising one or more compounds such as vinyl silicone, vinyl Q resin, hydride functional siloxane and platinum-vinylsiloxane. The solder material may comprise any suitable solder material, such as indium, silver, copper, aluminum and alloys thereof, silver coated copper, and silver coated aluminum, but it is preferred that the solder material comprise indium or indium-based compounds and/or alloys. The interface material, or polymer solder, has the capability of enhancing heat dissipation in high power semiconductor devices and maintains stable thermal performance. The interface material may be formulated by mixing the components together to produce a paste which may be applied by dispensing methods to any particular surface and cured at room temperature or elevated temperature.

Abstract: An object is to provide a method of making a metal oxide film with a sufficiently high degree of crystal orientation, without difficulties, at low cost, and with little damage to a base material and the metal oxide film, and to provide laminates and electronic devices using the same. A method includes a step of forming a metal film having a (111) plane, on a base material; a step of forming a metal oxide film on the (111) plane of the metal film; and a step of maintaining a temperature of the metal oxide film formed on the (111) plane of the metal film, at 25-600° C. and irradiating the metal oxide film with UV light.
