Abstract: The various embodiments described herein provide for the correction of spectral imbalance as might be caused where first pixels corresponding to a first spectral response have two or more different patterns of neighboring pixels contributing to cross-talk interference with the response of those first pixels. The differing patterns of neighboring pixels generally produce differing levels of contribution to the response of the first pixels even when subjected to the same illumination. By determining an average response of a first set of the first pixels having a first pattern of neighboring pixels and an average response of a second set of the first pixels having a second pattern of neighboring pixels, corrections for one or both of the sets of the first pixels can be determined to facilitate a mitigation of the spectral imbalance.

Firstly, a pre-taken image is obtained by focusing on a first subject with an image capture device. Then, the pre-taken image is divided into a first area and a second area. According to image analysis, a first focusing lens step number for the first area and a second focusing lens step number for the second area are obtained. Then, a first image is obtained by focusing on the first area of the pre-taken image. By comparing the first focusing lens step number with the second focusing lens step number, it is discriminated whether a second image is captured or not.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method and system for improved motion compensated noise reduction. The system uses a temporal noise reduction filter to remove noise from the current input field and pass it through a de-interlacer to produce a noise reduced full output frame. The temporal noise reduction filter reduces noise in the present field by blending it with a predicted (motion compensated) field determined from the immediately preceding full output frame. In accordance with the invention where the current input field is for time or sequence n, the motion compensated field can be determined from the output frame corresponding to time or sequence n?1. In addition, the motion compensated field can be predicted using motion estimation and motion compensation using the current input field and the previous output frame. By using the previous de-interlaced frame which includes the information for both field polarities, the vertical resolution of the motion estimation process can be improved.

Abstract: A hue error may occur upon a saturation control CSC if for a given pixel not only the color becomes more saturated but also the color of pixel changes. In a first variant the invention proposes to predict the saturated color after a saturation increase by applying in a first processing stream (23) an estimated gamma-function of a display device (11) to the saturated signal (Y?, satx(R??Y?), satx(B??Y)) thus obtaining a saturated color and in a second processing stream (25) to the original signal (Y?, (R??Y), (B??Y)) thus obtaining the original color. The saturated color is corrected to the original color, while maintaining its increased saturation. In a second variant predicting the hue of the output of the display becomes unnecessary by offering a hue correction (35) after the color saturation control (17) when negative color contributions happen. In a third variant it is possible to apply a color difference signal after the color saturation control (17) to empirically approximate the hue correction.

Abstract: When an information screen is displayed while an application such as a game or the like is run, operation relative to the application is continued under a certain condition. The information screen can be displayed while an application is being run, irrespective of an application program such as a game or the like. Furthermore, to preferably display as many images as possible while updating the display for a predetermined period of time, the element image already rendered in the image storage means is prevented from being re-rendered.

Abstract: A liquid crystal display (LCD) device (100) having an integrated touchscreen, includes a touchscreen surface and LC layer (20) that are partitioned according to the touchscreen keys (200). A corresponding probe light source (82) and sensor (92) positioned behind each partition is assigned to the corresponding touchscreen key. Each probe light sensor is configured to detect user contact on the touchscreen surface by sensing a reflection of the probe light. To further distinguish between different keys, each key may be made active according to a scanning or timesharing process. In this process, when a particular key is active, the neighboring keys are inactive. The scanning/timesharing process may be performed during a touchscreen mode of operation, which is interleaved with a normal display mode.

A probe signal source (82) is disposed within the device for transmitting a probe signal through an opening in the LC layer, toward the touchscreen surface. The device further includes a probe signal sensor (92, 92?) configured to sense reflections of the probe signal from the touchscreen surface, in order to detect user contact. In order to determine which particular touchscreen key is being touched, the probe signal opening scans through the set of keys one at a time.
