Publication number: 20080095361Abstract: A unique identifier of a remote device is not sent in clear text on a local interlace between the remote device and a device that can communicate with a wireless network, but a procedure for establishing an encryption key in both devices is still based on the unique identifier. Thus, secure binding between the established key and the identifier is achieved. Moreover, the identifier of the remote device is not exposed even to the device that can communicate with a wireless network.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 27, 2007Publication date: April 24, 2008Applicant: Telefonaktiebolaget L M Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Monica Wifvesson, Christian Gehrmann

Publication number: 20080095362Abstract: An authentication server and a system and method for managing cryptographic keys across different combinations of user terminals, access networks, and core networks. A Transformation Coder Entity (TCE) creates a master key (Mk), which is used to derive keys during the authentication procedure. During handover between the different access types, the Mk or a transformed Mk is passed between two nodes that hold the key in the respective access networks when a User Equipment (UE) terminal changes access. The transformation of the Mk is performed via a one-way function, and has the effect that if the Mk is somehow compromised, it is not possible to automatically obtain access to previously used master keys. The transformation is performed based on the type of authenticator node and type of UE/identity module with which the transformed key is to be utilized. The Mk is never used directly, but is only used to derive the keys that are directly used to protect the access link.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 19, 2007Publication date: April 24, 2008Inventors: Rolf Blom, Karl Norrman, Mats Naslund

Publication number: 20080095370Abstract: A stream stretcher is provided for securely expanding a key stream to match fee length of a data block to be encrypted and/or decrypted. A key stream is obtained having a length of LZ bits. A length LD corresponding, to a data block to be encrypted/decrypted is obtained, where LD>LZ. LD?LZ new bits are recursively generated by combining at least two bits of the key stream. The LD?LZ new bits are appended to the key stream to generate a stretched key stream. The data block may then be encrypted/decrypted with the stretched key stream. The at least two bits are selected to have offsets that form a full positive difference set.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 18, 2006Publication date: April 24, 2008Inventors: Gregory G. Publication number: 20080095371Abstract: The presented messaging protocol uses three new public keys in a signed and encrypted message to achieve backward security and recovery in an environment where an attacker now and then obtains the security parameters in exposed, decrypted form. Backward security is understood to mean that an adversary cannot decrypt those captured encrypted messages that the user has decrypted prior the exposure. The recovery of the protocol means that the attacker at some point of time after the exposure cannot any more decrypt messages created after the exposure. The invention can be used e.g. in encrypted email communication. New to the current state of the art is that a message contains history data: a list of recently used public keys and their Diffie-Hellman counterparts.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2004Publication date: April 24, 2008Inventor: Pentti Kimmo Sakari Vataja

Publication number: 20080095403Abstract: A method of calibrating a video image to the scene imaged is provided for which a vehicle image transit can be associated with the transit of the real-world vehicle. A path is determined by a tracking point for at least one vehicle image. A measuring vehicle image is selected, wherein the measuring vehicle image is associated with a known dimension of the real-world measuring vehicle. At a point on the path, collocated with the tracking point, a scaling factor is determined such that a measuring vehicle image dimension is associated with a real-world dimension. A number of scaling factors can then be assembled into a scaling map allowing vehicles traversing the video scene to be measured in time, by the video frame rate, and distance, by the distance of their images and scaled according to the scaling map. Other embodiments are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 24, 2006Publication date: April 24, 2008Applicant: TDX LLCInventor: Daniel Jacques Benhammou

Publication number: 20080095407Abstract: A method for determining an offset vector. The method includes obtaining an image of a first feature. An image of a second feature is also obtained. Also, a combination image of the first feature and the second feature is obtained. A plurality of composite images is utilized to determine an accurate offset vector between the first feature and the second feature in the combination image. The plurality of composite images is based on the image of the first feature and the image of the second feature.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 20, 2006Publication date: April 24, 2008Inventors: Duncan Stewart, Carl Picciotto, Jun Gao

Publication number: 20080095408Abstract: There is provided an imaging apparatus and an imaging method capable of matching coordinate positions of a plurality of images to be synthesized with each other when generating an image having a wide dynamic range by synthesizing the plurality of images each having a different exposure condition. When a luminance adjustment circuit adjusts a luminance value of each of reference image data and non-reference image data, a displacement detection circuit detects displacement between the reference image data and non-reference image data. After a displacement correction circuit corrects coordinate positions of the non-reference image data on the basis of the detected displacement, an image synthesizing circuit generates synthesized image data composed of reference image data and non-reference image data.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2007Publication date: April 24, 2008Applicant: SANYO ELECTRIC CO., LTD.Inventors: Masahiro Yokohata, Yasuhachi Hamamoto, Yukio Mori
