  • Patent number: 7364327
Abstract: Reduction of noise is achieved by devising an arrangement of heat generating parts such as a light valve element, an electric power source, a light source, etc. and an arrangement of cooling fans. In cooling the light source, the electric power source and liquid crystal panels, a cooling wind path for the liquid crystal panels and the electric power source is made separate from and independent of a cooling wind path for the light source that generates much heat, a cooling air volume is optimized for the respective cooling wind paths, and noise accompanying the rotation of the cooling fans is reduced. Also, by arranging the cooling fans substantially centrally of the respective cooling wind paths, that volume of noise, which leaks from air intake ports and air exhaust port that are opened to a housing of a unit, is reduced.

  • Patent number: 7364350
Abstract: Vertical electromagnetic stirring is used to produce low shear, stress, turbulent and chaotic mixing of a liquid material or suspension in a container regardless of the volume or container geometry. Movement of a magnetic stir bar is controlled by multiple magnetic fields. The magnetic fields are produced by a series of sequentially or non-sequentially activated inductor coils which produce asymmetrical stirring dynamics and random motions of the stir bar, causing the liquid material to be gently and effectively mixed throughout the container. Moving the stir bar in random and irregular patterns during the stirring operation creates turbulent and chaotic mixing dynamics. The stir bars used for supporting vertical magnetic stirring are specifically designed to optimize the effectivity of the mixing process by maximizing the length of the stir bar to quickly and gently mix the materials.

Abstract: A mixer apparatus for use with a vessel centered about a longitudinal axis is disclosed. The mixer has a blade body is formed along a central head axis. The blade body has a first end, a second end spaced from the first end along the head axis, and a passageway extending between the first and second ends. The outer surface of the blade body defines an inside blade diameter “ID” at the second end and an outside blade diameter “OD” at the first end. The blade body is positioned within and coaxial to the vessel. A scotch yoke, operatively connected to the blade body by a shaft, effects reciprocating longitudinal movement of the blade body through a stroke “S”, with a duration “T” for each stroke. Enhanced mixing efficiencies are achieved when the mixer is operated within a set of operational parameters defined by the equation: 80?0.36×OD2/ID2×S/T?550, when OD, ID and S are expressed in inches, and T is expressed in minutes.

Abstract: A lid for article of cookware is covered over a considerable portion of its surface with a thermochromic ink or paint to form a first thermochromic indicator. This first thermochromic indicator undergoes a readily visible change in appearance to notify the cook that the underlying cookware vessel and/or the contents thereof have reached the desired temperature. A second thermochromic indicator on the lid is used to indicate that liquid in the pot is also boiling, or that a certain time has elapsed since the change in appearance of the first thermochromic indicator. The first thermochromic indicator preferably surrounds the second thermochromic indicator and is separated therefrom by a thermal insulator to create or extend the time lag between each indicator reaching their respective thermochromic transition temperatures.

Abstract: A status indication device configured for use in an x-ray system is disclosed. The device includes an audio receiver, a processor, a tone generator, and an adjustment mechanism. The audio receiver is configured and disposed to collect audio information surrounding the x-ray system. The processor is coupled to the audio receiver and receptive of a signal representative of the collected audio information. The tone generator is coupled and responsive to the processor and is configured to generate an audio tone in response to a defined status of the x-ray system. The adjustment mechanism is coupled to the tone generator and the processor and dynamically develops a set of audio properties that cause the audio tone to be distinguishable from the collected audio information.

Abstract: A laminated film includes an outer-layer-film, a water-soluble film, and an intermediate layer interposed between the outer-layer-film and the water-soluble film. The intermediate layer contains a high-pressure polyethylene oxidized to a prescribed degree on a surface thereof contiguous to the water-soluble film. The outer-layer-film and the intermediate layer adhere fast to each other. The intermediate layer and the water-soluble film directly contact each other and adhere so weakly to each other as to be peelable.

  • Patent number: 7364361
Abstract: A storage bag having a recloseable mouth, which is biased into an open configuration, is disclosed. The bag, typically manufactured from thermoplastic material such as low-density polyethylene, includes first and second adjacent layers joined or folded along bottom and side edges. The top edges are not folded or permanently joined, but are provided with closure members such as mating male and female zipper strips. The bag is further provided with structure to bias the top edges apart from one another thus biasing the mouth of the bag into an open configuration. The closure members are sufficiently strong to overcome the force of the biasing structure and thereby hold the bag closed when the closure members are engaged. However, upon disengagement of the closure members the biasing structure forces the bag top edges apart to thereby place the bag into an open mouth configuration.

  • Patent number: 7364362
Abstract: A tamper-evident reclosable package having a header that is tack sealed to the zipper. A light tack, in the form of a light weld, is made at the end of the package header. The header is the top portion of the package and is designed to shroud the zipper. The header serves as a tamper-evident feature, and also serves to maintain cleanliness and aesthetics of the package. The header must be tom before a person can gain access to the contents of the package. Typically, means for preferential tearing are provided for easy removal of the header. The tack seal contributes to the maintenance of the cleanliness and aesthetics of the package, while still allowing easy removal of the header. The tack is light (i.e., low bond strength or pull-off force) in order to not make it significantly more difficult to open the package.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for retaining bearing balls in a bearing assembly. For example, a cage assembly may comprise an annular cage having a plurality of pockets in which to snap-in bearing balls via openings having a width less than the diameter of the bearing balls. A retainer ring for the cage may have an inner diameter that is equal to the inner diameter of the cage. The cage assembly may comprise a plurality of cage webs, wherein each cage web is located between two adjacent pockets, and each cage web may be tapered (either radially, axially, or both radially and axially). The plurality of cage webs may be tapered such that the cage webs are tapered towards a distal end of each cage web and away from a proximal end of each cage web. An outer land may pilot the bearing assembly.
