Patent number: 7402039Abstract: A high velocity pressure burner system burns air and gas thereby creating a flue gas. The system comprises a blower for pressurizing the air; a control for adjusting the pressure of the pressurized air; a combustion chamber having a flue gas outlet; and a burner disposed on the combustion chamber. The burner includes an air orifice for receiving the pressurized air; a gas orifice for receiving the gas; the air orifice causing the pressured air to flow over the gas orifice to form an air/gas mixture; at least one spinner vane disposed upstream of the gas orifice creating turbulence in the air/gas mixture; and a retender disposed downstream of the gas orifice creating turbulence in the air/gas mixture. The flue gas outlet is sized to create a back pressure on the burning air/gas mixture. The flue gas from the combustion of the air/gas mixture in the combustion chamber increases in velocity as the flue gas passes through the flue gas exit.Type: GrantFiled: September 15, 2004Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Inventor: James G. Patent number: 7402040Abstract: The active portion of an osseous compression tool for use particularly in dentistry for the preparation of an osseous seat has a cross-section whose perimeter, e.g. of polygonal shape, is defined such that a rotational actuation of the tool around its axis, at least in one direction, preceded or accompanied by its actuation in an axial direction inside the seat, has the effect that the osseous matter is compressed and that the seat is imparted a perimeter of a predetermined shape. In a variant embodiment, a rotation of the tool in the opposite direction allows a scraping or cutting of osseous matter. A tool holder includes a percussion system and allows the translational and rotational actuation of the tool manually or automatically.Type: GrantFiled: February 27, 2003Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Arsline SAInventor: Achille Turri

Patent number: 7402041Abstract: Disclosed is a motion simulating device that includes a first scissor jack having a helical screw and a motor that rotates the helical screw of the scissor jack thereby raising or lowering the first scissor jack. Also included is a second scissor jack also having a helical screw and a motor that rotates the helical screw thereby raising or lowering the second scissor jack. At least one platform can be connected to the first and second scissor jacks. A controller is in communication with the first and second motors so that rotation of the helical screws of the first and second scissor jacks raises or lowers the scissor jacks thereby moving the platform up and down in accordance with movement of the scissor jacks. The controller can be a joystick, a steering wheel, foot pedals, a voice trigger, a gear shifter, roller ball, or any other device capable of translating mechanical energy into an electrical signal. The motion simulating device can also include at least one additional controller.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2005Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: KB3, Inc.Inventors: Michael Craig Nelms, Raymond Charles Gordon, Lester Best, Jr.

Patent number: 7402042Abstract: An electronic learning device configured to receive in a predetermined orientation a book having an arrangement of selectable mode icons, selectable content and a page identifier. Non-volatile memory in the electronic learning device has instructions associated with each mode icon, and data associated with the selectable content. A controller is in electrical communication with a page identification sensor and a position sensor for detecting the presence of a selector. The controller is configured a) to operate in accordance with instructions associated with each mode icon, b) to determine the position of the selector when the selector is within the active range of the position sensor, c) to recognize the page identifier, and a selection by the selector of one of the selectable mode icons, the selectable indicia or the selectable content and d) to send to the electronic user interface a signal associated with the selection.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2003Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Mattel, Inc.Inventors: Miriam Kelley, Scott H. Patent number: 7402043Abstract: The present invention relates to a connector holding structure in which a connector is held in a door frame, the connector being mated with a mating connector attached to a fulcrum end of a door handle and pivotally held in the door frame. The connector holding structure according to the present invention allows the connector to be smoothly mated with the mating connector while permitting a change in the orientation of the connector caused by a pivoting motion of the door handle. The connector has two projections arranged on each side in a horizontal direction. A door frame has a guide groove extending along a horizontal direction in association with a direction in which the two projections are arranged, and two grooves extending downward from the guide groove in association with the two projections to permit pivoting motion of the connector.Type: GrantFiled: September 10, 2004Date of Patent: July 22, 2008Assignee: Tyco Electronics AMP K.K.Inventors: Ryuichi Komiyama, Yoshinori Hitomi, Katsutoshi Fukunaga, Makoto Suzumura, Yukinobu Kunimatsu
