Publication number: 20080209983Abstract: A combination of a liquid chromatograph and a gas chromatograph was a possible measure for improving precision in analyzing organic chemical substances. However, because elutes from liquid chromatoghaphies contain water and a highly polar solvent, injection thereof into a gas chromatograph has been impossible. The sensing elements are of relatively high resolution to detect areas within the tyre footprint where there is tread cut into the tyre, so that the extent of tread coverage can be assessed. Tyre pressure is also determined. The tyre then passes over a series of second lateral sensors (7) spaced at intervals to assess the tyre around its circumference.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 7, 2005Publication date: September 4, 2008Inventors: Michael Taylor, Christopher Berg

Publication number: 20080209997Abstract: A method for optimizing fracture treatments includes interpreting a nominal pump schedule corresponding to a nominal value for each fracture control parameter. The method further includes interpreting environmental variables, and interpreting probability distributions for each of the environmental variables that is uncertain. The method further includes defining an objective function such as a net present value of each fracture treatment over a 365 day period following the fracture treatment. The method includes determining an optimal value for each fracture control parameter according to the objective function by determining the fracture control parameter values that yield the best mean net present value given the variability in the environmental variables as described by their probability distributions.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 6, 2008Publication date: September 4, 2008Inventors: William John Bailey, Joseph Ayoub, Benoit Couet, Vincent Dury, Wenyu Kong, David J. Publication number: 20080209999Abstract: There is provided a method for automatically measuring the takeoff/landing time of an aircraft which has been performed conventionally by human visual observation. Furthermore, there is provided an aircraft takeoff/landing management method using the method. An ACAS signal transmitted from an aircraft transponder is received and a vertical status code contained in the signal or a barometric altimeter indication value change is used to detect/measure a takeoff/landing time. Moreover, the signal is classified according to the aircraft unique identifier contained in the signal. Thus, takeoff/landing information on a plenty of aircraft can be acquired and managed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 15, 2005Publication date: September 4, 2008Applicant: NITTOBO ACOUSTIC ENGINEERING CO., LTD.Inventors: Shinji Ohhashi, Kouichi Yamashita, Yoshio Tadahira

Publication number: 20080210000Abstract: To provide a filter test apparatus that can easily and efficiently test parallel filters in a clean room, a plurality of filters for purifying air supplied into the room are disposed in parallel, and a moving frame oriented along the exit surfaces of a filter group is disposed in the clean room, in which the exit surfaces of the filter group are used as the ceiling surfaces or side surfaces of the room, so as to allow movement in the direction along the exit surfaces of the filter group in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the moving frame. The moving frame is disposed so as to span opposing room walls and in a position near the exit surfaces of the filter group in the room. A filter test device is movably mounted on the moving frame in the longitudinal direction of the moving frame.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 11, 2005Publication date: September 4, 2008Applicant: TAIKISHA LTD.Inventor: Yasuhiro Yoshitome

Publication number: 20080210001Abstract: A channel substrate containing at least one channel for a fluid is provided. A sensor substrate carrying a thermal flow sensor is arranged adjacent to the channel substrate. The flow sensor contains at least one temperature sensor and at least one heater, which are integrated on the sensor substrate. The heater and the temperature sensor are in thermal contact with the channel in the channel substrate. This arrangement allows to measure the flow of the fluid in the channel, which provides an improved monitoring and control. The sensor substrate can have contact pads connected to bond wires or, using flip-chip technology, the contact pads can be connected to circuit paths to the channel substrate.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2008Publication date: September 4, 2008Inventor: Ulf Kanne

Publication number: 20080210002Abstract: A flow meter includes a heating means (11) for heating a partial region of the outer wall surface of a pipe forming a flow path or for heating a particular region in the pipe; and temperature detecting means for measuring the temperatures of regions for radiating the temperature influence from the heated region to the outside as heat energy (infrared rays), the regions being on the upstream side and the downstream side of the pipe with respect to the heated region. The temperature detecting means consist of an upstream-side non-contact temperature detecting means (12) and a downstream-side non-contact temperature detecting means (13) arranged near the outer wall surface of the pipe in a state of being not in contact with the outer wall surface, and the non-contact temperature detecting means can measure the temperatures of the upstream-side heat energy radiating region and downstream-side heat energy radiating region in a state of being not in contact with the outer wall surface of the pipe.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2005Publication date: September 4, 2008Inventors: Shoji Kamiunten, Seishi Nakano

Publication number: 20080210004Abstract: A level meter employs the radar concept for measuring the fill level of a medium in a container and incorporates an electric conductor system for conducting an electromagnetic signal into the container and returning reflected components of the electromagnetic signal from the container. Here, the electric conductor assembly is integrated into a wall of the container. The result is a universally employable electric conductor assembly so configured as to be unobstructed by built-in structures in the container such as agitators, intake pipe fittings or discharge connectors.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 3, 2008Publication date: September 4, 2008Applicant: Krohne Messtechnik GmbH & Co. Publication number: 20080210005Abstract: The invention relates to a microgyroscope, that is to say an inertial micromechanical sensor dedicated to the measurement of angular velocities, which is produced by micromachining techniques, and has a novel arrangement of the modules for measuring the movement of the vibrating masses. The gyroscope comprises two symmetrical moving assemblies (30, 50; 30?, 50?) that are coupled by a coupling structure (20, 20?, 22). Each of the two assemblies comprises a moving mass (30) surrounded by a moving intermediate frame (50). The frame (50) is connected to the coupling structure (20, 20?, 22) and can vibrate in two degrees of freedom in orthogonal directions Ox and Oy of the plane of the wafer. The mass (30) is connected, on one side, to the frame and, on the other side, to fixed anchoring regions (34, 36) via linking means (40-46; 52-58) that allow the vibration movement in the Oy direction to be transmitted to the mass without permitting any movement of the mass in the Ox direction.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 19, 2006Publication date: September 4, 2008Applicant: ThalesInventors: Claude Rougeot, Bernard Chaumet, Bertrand Le Verrier, Jerome Willemin
