Abstract: Containers for use with a vehicle seat of the type comprising a backrest with at least a forward surface and a rear surface, a seat cushion having at least an upper surface and a rear surface, and a slot between the backrest and the seat cushion. The container comprises a housing and an attachment member for securing the housing to the seat, having a rearward distal portion which extends rearwardly and then either upwardly or downwardly to engage a rear surface of at least one of the backrest or the seat cushion. The rearward distal portion is preferably resilient. Also disclosed is a disposable attachment member designed for attachment to a separate container, such as a pizza box. The attachment member advantageously comprises a connector portion such as a release strip covering an adhesive portion designed to be connected to the separate container.

Abstract: A roof-rack assembly for a vehicle includes a roof having a first support member extending along a length thereof. A second support member is spaced apart from the first support member and extends along a length of the roof. At least one cross-member extends between and is attached to the first support member and the second support member and is movable between a use position and a stowed position relative to the roof. The at least one cross-member extends away from a surface of the roof in the use position and is received generally within the roof in the stowed position.

Abstract: The vehicular roof rack cargo carrier system of the preferred embodiment includes rotary latch housing units that can be affixed to roof rack crossbars (also referred to as load bars) plus cargo carrier vessels that have exterior-positioned built-in retention rods. The rotary latch—retention rod system enables carriers to be securely attached to and easily disengaged from roof racks when the carriers themselves are filled with content. The carriers then become portable enabling designs with features such as wheels and handles. Taken altogether, the system enables the creation of content-filled cargo carriers that have product functionality and consumer purpose away from point of vehicle.

Abstract: A lifting apparatus for an all-terrain vehicle is described. The lifting apparatus assists in the loading, transferring, and unloading of an article or a load from the all-terrain vehicle. The lifting apparatus includes an elevating member with a platform. The platform is engaged to the elevating member for vertical movement. A winch is mounted on the elevating member and connected to the platform to raise and lower the platform. A base member supports the elevating member in a rotatable engagement such that elevating member and the platform rotate relative to the base member.

A pocket member is affixed to the back portion for holding at least one tool. Abstract: An article is provided for retaining components of an endoscopic retrograde cholangio-pancreatography delivery system. The article includes a body-encircling belt and an ERCP component retainer. The ERCP component retainer is affixed to the belt. The retainer has a pair of material strips connected together at one end with opposed inner surfaces. An inner surface on one strip is covered with hook fasteners and an inner surface on another strip is covered with loop fasteners that releasably attach to the hook fasteners to retain a coiled ERCP component.

Abstract: A nail gun includes an air concentrating chamber and a main air passage, and the trigger valve is disposed between the air concentrating chamber and the main air passage. The trigger valve includes a valve body, a shuttle valve nested in the valve body, a valve base integrated with the valve body, and a valve bar being capable of pressed and released. When the valve bar is pressed to actuate the high pressure air in the air concentrating chamber to drive the shuttle valve to downwardly move, for guiding the high pressure air in the air concentrating chamber into the main air passage to provide necessary energy for hitting nails. The apparatus includes a frame portion, an elongated portion extending from the frame portion, and an articulating fastener applying assembly associated with a distal end of the elongated portion. The fastener applying assembly includes a base portion, a staple cartridge housing, and an anvil member which has a forming surface thereon against which surgical fasteners are driven as they are ejected from the cartridge housing. A first mechanism is provided for effectuating the rotation of the fastener applying assembly about an axis defined by the body portion, a second mechanism is provided for effectuating the articulation of the fastener applying assembly, and a third mechanism is provided for independently rotating the cartridge housing and anvil member relative to a longitudinal axis defined by the base position to increase the range of operability of the apparatus.

X element was suppressed the formation of Ni3P, Ni3SnP intermetallic compound and prevented the spalling behavior of Ni3Sn4. Therefore, solder joint reliability can be improved significantly.

The container of the present invention has integrally formed structural columns for superior stacking strength and resistance to distortion. The columns are formed by providing column fold lines in extension members that are integrally formed with the panels that define the end walls and then pressing the fold lines between a folding arm having a protrusion and a cooperatively configured mandrel. The container can have integral cover flaps, corner panels, dividers and/or partitions. The container utilizes areas of a blank that would normally be discarded as waste. By slitting, scoring and folding these areas, various features can be formed to enhance flexibility and functionality of the container.

In some methods for preserving and maintaining document integrity, the contents of a document, or contents of a document layer may be encoded into a machine-readable form. In some embodiments, the encoded information may be represented using a 2-dimensional bar code. In some methods for preserving and maintaining document integrity, the machine-readable code is printed along with contents of the document based on space available in the document. In some embodiments, a printed document containing the machine-readable code may be scanned and digitized, and content extracted from the scanned data. In some embodiments, the machine-readable code printed on the document is used to recreate layer data from the printed document.

Abstract: A personal banking card that uses a fingerprint reading system on the back of the card that is used to read a particular individual's finger print and match that information with the finger print information contained in the memory storage system of the card. The card also has two electronic storage means on the back of the card that may be micro chips or some similar means. The storage system is used to store both information relating to the user's bank account number, the balance in the account as well as information relating to finger print information of the owner of the card. There is a means to communicate between the two storage means in order that a signal can be given from one to the other in order to “unlock” the account and allow charges to be made by using the card. When the card has been “unlocked” via the security feature, the card is active and merely swiping it or otherwise using it will cause charges to be paid and the amount deducted from the account balance stored on the card.

The deposit accepting machine is in connection with a card reader operative to read data corresponding to financial accounts from user cards. The apparatus further includes an RFID reading device that is operative to read signals from RFID tags to obtain deposit information therefrom. The information can include data associated with of the deposit, such as an account number and the deposit amount. The information can include cash value. A computer is operative to credit a financial account for value associated with deposit items responsive to data read by the card reader and/or RFID reading device.

Abstract: Age authentication and management of taxes for a merchant. The merchant can verify the age of a customer based on the customer's use of a smartcard that is obtained from a validation authority. The smartcard may contain a certificate related to the age of the user. By utilizing the smartcard, the user can go to an online, virtual, or brick-and-mortar merchant and buy goods requiring age restrictions. When the customer proceeds to purchase a good or service requiring age verification, the merchant's application can obtain information from the smartcard and request from the validation authority information authenticating the user's age. Further, the validation authority may also remit and pay taxes on behalf of the merchant based on the location of the merchant and other information stored in a merchant profile.

Abstract: A system and method for accelerating customer sales transactions in a retail store. A customer checkout accelerator provides a customer user interface to initiate a request for a preapproval amount for a sales transaction before reaching the point of sale terminal for completion of the purchase transaction. A card reader integrated into the customer checkout accelerator reads a customer payment card number when the payment card is swiped through the reader. A customer checkout accelerator server module resident on a store controller server determines a preapproval amount for the sales transaction and transmits the request to an external card services system for payment approval. The customer checkout accelerator also provides the ability to purchase additional promotional items in the checkout lane with this process integrated into the payment preapproval process.

Abstract: A wireless access control system having a microcontroller, a field generator, an access card reader, a proximity detector, and a self-contained energy source. Energy demands are reduced by maintaining the reader and field generator in a powered off state until the proximity detector detects the possible presentation of an access control card. The microcontroller then activates the field generator and card reader for a predetermined time period for obtaining data from the control card. If data is received, the system determined whether to grant access, or transmits the data to a host for determination whether access should be granted, and then operates a security mechanism accordingly. If data is not received within the time period, the field generator and reader are power off until the next proximity detection.

An immediate update is processed substantially without delay. Other updates are queued for later processing and processed at the user-specified later time.

The terminal units have an outer casing, a microprocessor, and a machine readable identification code reader to read code placed exterior to the outer casing for display on a screen. The terminal unit can have an alignment fixture to indicate the placement of the machine readable identification code and does not require a user to contact the unit. Remote computers can be used to house the administrative software and communicate with the terminal through communication means. An identification database stores the machine readable identification code and data associated with the code, communicating with the monitor and bridge software.

In some embodiments, a printed document containing the machine-readable code may be scanned and digitized, and content extracted from the scanned data. Abstract: Optical sensor for detecting a code on a substrate which, in use, moves with respect to the optical sensor. The sensor comprises an optical detector for determining a value of a reflective property of the substrate, wherein the optical detector views the substrate along an optical axis, a code analyser for determining the detected code on the basis of a variation of the value of the determined reflective property in time, a first illumination source for illuminating the substrate along the optical axis, a second illumination source for illuminating the substrate in a direction at a non-zero angle with respect to the optical axis, and a control unit having a first operational mode wherein the first illumination source switched on and the second illumination source is switched off, and having a second operational mode wherein the first illumination source is switched off and the second illumination source is switched on.
