Abstract: A liquid filling apparatus for filling capsules formed by joining two films carried on cylindrical surfaces of respective drums that are arranged in parallel to define a nip comprises two members (150,152) having an arcuate tapering cross-section so as to be positionable in such a nip defined by two such drums having a predetermined diameter. Each of the two members has opposed arcuate surfaces that, in use, face the cylindrical surfaces of the respective drums. The arcuate surfaces are provided with apertures through which, in use, a pressurised gas is emitted to provide a gas barrier to prevent a filling liquid supplied into the nip between said members from escaping past the arcuate surfaces.

Abstract: The invention relates to a device for tightening a tubular casing filled with a product by means of several pairs of displacers, wherein the mutually overlapping displacers of each pair encompass an opening, both displacers adjoining to the encompassed opening in two overlapping points per pair. The displacers are configured for a linear tightening movement depending on the varying size of the openings, the openings being located one behind the other in the axial direction of the tubular casing encompassing a passage. The openings are not congruent with the passage, the overlapping points being at a distance from the passage during the predominant part of the tightening movement. The invention allows the subdivision of the filled tubular casing into packaging units, thereby preventing or reducing the risk of damages to the tubular casing.

Abstract: Contemplated plants thermally integrate operation of a refinery component, and most preferably of a hydrocarbon splitter with LNG regasification to provide refrigeration duty and with a power cycle to provide the reboiler duty of the component. It should be noted that such configurations advantageously allow operation of the splitter at a reduced temperature and at reduced pressure, thereby increasing separation efficiency, while the power output is boosted using air intake chilling. Most notably, such process advantages are achieved by satisfying the heating duty of LNG regasification.

The inner vessel is used to contain the cryogenic liquid. The purge gas can be cryogenic vapor evolved from the liquid and routed into the insulation space. Control of the purge gas within the insulation space can be provided by a programmable logic controller in which purge gas is vented from the insulation space should the pressure be indicative of a leak within the inner vessel and purge gas is introduced into the insulation space should the pressure be below the ambient to maintain a positive purge gas pressure. Abstract: The invention involves a siphon for delivery of a liquid cryogen from a container such as a Dewar flask. The siphon ensures delivery of a liquid cryogen with a lower proportion of the gaseous fraction. The siphon comprises a central feeding conduit, which is largely contained within the Dewar flask. There is an auxiliary conduit surrounding the central feeding conduit; the outer upper section of this auxiliary conduit is provided with an adjustable valve intended to release a gaseous fraction of the cryogen contained in the annular gap between the auxiliary and central feeding conduits. The upper section of the central feeding conduit is provided with an external layer of a porous capillary coating or with a wick; this ensures that the upper section of the central feeding conduit is continuously wetted with the liquid cryogen. This porous capillary coating prevents gasification of the liquid cryogen in the central feeding conduit.

Abstract: A system and method for managing water content in a fluid includes a collection chamber for collecting water from the fluid with a desiccant, and a regeneration chamber for collecting water from the desiccant and transferring it to a second fluid. An evaporator cools the desiccant entering the collection chamber, and a second evaporator cools the second fluid to extract the water. The evaporators use a refrigerant, the flow of which is controlled by a flow control valve. When the temperature in the second evaporator drops below a set point, the refrigerant flow to the second evaporator is stopped, and the refrigerant flow to the first evaporator is increased. This increases the water collection in the collection chamber, and causes a rise in the temperature in the second evaporator. The valve is then opened to increase the cooling in the second evaporator.
