Abstract: The present invention relates to a locking system, in particular a locking system for aircraft landing gears. A space-saving, simple construction and little maintenance requirement of the locking system is achieved by at least one electromechanical drive unit, whose torque is transmitted to a drive shaft with a cam disk via axle-crossing transmitting means. With the torque, the cam disk can move the locking system from the locked into the unlocked condition.

It is therefore possible to control the die cushion pressure with excellent responsiveness with respect to a die cushion pressure command and prevent occurrence of a surge pressure. The die cushion apparatus also has excellent energy efficiency since energy required for a die cushioning action that a cushion pad receives when effecting die cushioning of a press machine is regenerated as electrical energy through the fluid hydraulic cylinder, fluid hydraulic pump/motor, and electric motor.

These absorbent materials are employed in the form of self-fixing patches or membranes that can be disposed of after use and are placed between the air to be measured and the measurement means. These patches or membranes can be used for all types of measurement means, such as electronic sensors or calorimetric indicators (in which case the membrane will advantageously be transparent). This actual pre-treatment of the air will thus allow reliable, reproducible measurement irrespective of the environmental conditions (humidity, presence of other pollutants, etc.). Abstract: An apparatus determines gas sorption properties of a large number of material samples simultaneously. The apparatus includes a switchable manifold of low-volume conduits and an array of sensors, where each low-volume conduit fluidly couples a single sample of gas-sorbing material to a dedicated detector. The switchable manifold is also configured to fluidly couple the samples to a vacuum source or a dosing gas source. Because of the very low internal volume of the conduits, essentially all gas released from a particular sample is accurately detected by the corresponding detector, either through sorption of the released gas, by measuring pressure, or by other means. In this way, a very accurate measurement of the quantity of gas released by the sample is made. In one embodiment, the array of sensors includes hydride-based sensors, which contain a material that forms an optically and/or electrically responsive hydride upon exposure to hydrogen-containing gas.

Abstract: A detector for identifying a fluid is disclosed. The detector comprises a probe having a thermistor, the probe being arranged to be exposed to a fluid and to allow thermal flow between the fluid and the thermistor; a temperature sensor to measure the ambient temperature of the fluid and a controller. The controller is arranged to supply electrical power to the thermistor and to provide an output indicative of the identity of the fluid based upon whether the electrical power supplied to the thermistor is above or below a threshold value. The threshold value is adjustable in accordance with the measured ambient temperature of the fluid. Examples of such a detector provide reliable fluid identification despite variations in ambient temperature of the fluid and such a detector may be compact, inexpensive, reliable and robust.

Abstract: In an acceleration sensor, a first vibrator is arranged on a surface of a substrate such that the vibrator can vibrate in an X-axis direction. An angular-velocity-detecting vibrator is arranged inside the first vibrator such that the vibrator can be displaced in a Y-axis direction. A vibration generating unit and a vibration monitor unit are provided between the substrate and the first vibrator. An angular-velocity-detecting displacement detecting unit is provided between the substrate and the angular-velocity-detecting vibrator. A second vibrator is provided outside the first vibrator such that the vibrator can be displaced in the Y-axis direction. An acceleration-detecting displacement detecting unit is provided between the first and second vibrators. An angular velocity detecting circuit detects angular velocity by performing synchronous detection on a displacement detection signal from the displacement detecting unit using a monitor signal from the vibration monitor unit.

The regulation plate protrudes from outside walls of the support frame to partition the space accommodating the chip in the protection case by the protrusion and to prevent air circulation above and below the regulation plate, so that a temperature rise due to the IC circuit among the piezo-resistors provided on the top surfaces of the flexible arms is kept uniform to reduce offset voltage.

Abstract: An acceleration sensor-attached tire is provided which can detect acceleration in one arbitrary direction, in two or more directions where vectors are linearly independent of each other, or in two or more directions where vectors of the detected acceleration cross each other generated in a tire in a practical velocity range. A sensor unit 100 is embedded inside a tire, and the acceleration in three directions crossing each other and generated in the tire 300 is detected by an acceleration sensor provided in this sensor unit, and the detected acceleration is transmitted. The acceleration sensor is a micro electro mechanical systems (MEMS) type sensor and comprises a semiconductor acceleration sensor.

Abstract: An accelerometer includes a cantilever mass with a thin beam element between the mass and the fixed end of the accelerometer. The end of the mass is tapered. A limiting member has an aperture that is tapered corresponding to the taper at the end of the mass and positioned to surround the tapered end of the seismic mass. The beam accelerometer as well as the limiting member is placed in a cylindrical housing whereby the limiting member is moved along the taper of the seismic mass to adjust the spacing between the limiting member and the inner wall of the housing to thereby adjust the amount of movement of the seismic mass. In one embodiment the aperture of the tapered limited member also surrounds the seismic mass but the gap between the inner wall of the tapered limiting member and the outer wall of the seismic mass is adjusted to determine the amount of movement of the beam.
