Abstract: An apparatus and method for separating a pin tool from a shoulder tool, after the pin tool and shoulder tool have become welded together during a friction stir welding operation. In one exemplary embodiment a frame is used to support the shoulder tool. A fluid pressure actuating assembly is used for gradually exerting a force on the pin tool while the shoulder tool is held stationary within the frame. The gradually increasing force gradually breaks the weld and separates the pin tool from the shoulder tool without damaging the pin tool.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a metallic keypad has a ripple luster. First, a metallic thin plate is prepared. The metallic thin plate is subjected to an etching process, thereby forming a plurality of hollowed portions on the metallic thin plate. The hollowed portions are used to define a pressing region for the key and icons for the surface of the pressing region. The metallic thin plate is cut to form a metallic keypad having a predetermined shape. Then, after an electroplated layer is coated on the surface of the metallic keypad, a layer of protective film is adhered on the non-electroplated surface of the metallic keypad. Finally, the metallic keypad is disposed into a mold. A plastic material is injected into the mold, so that the plastic material forms a pattern layer. Abstract: The invention relates to a method for forming a thin, high hardness coating and devices comprising it. The method of the invention consists in depositing, by magnetron cathode sputtering, a titanium film on at least one surface of a substrate under a partial pressure of argon of 1 Pa, then in depositing, by magnetron cathode sputtering, a titanium nitride film, onto the film obtained by introducing nitrogen into the cathodic sputtering chamber while maintaining a partial pressure of 1 Pa, and in depositing a film of a composite nanostructured material based on titanium, zirconium, boron and nitrogen onto the film obtained by magnetron cathode sputtering in active co-sputtering mode. The method of the invention can be applied in many fields, and in particular in the mechanical field in order to improve the surface hardness of mechanical components.

Abstract: It is an object of the invention to provide a useful technique for reducing vibration of a handgrip and improving the cutting efficiency while achieving weight reduction of a reciprocating power tool. According to the invention, a representative reciprocating power tool is provided to comprise a body, a tool bit, an actuating mechanism, a handgrip. The handgrip and the body can rotate with respect to each other via a pivot in a direction crossing the direction of reciprocating linear motion of the tool bit. An elastic element is disposed between the handgrip and the body and serves to absorb vibration transmitted from the body to the handgrip by elastically receiving the relative rotation of the handgrip and the body. According to the invention, vibration in the handgrip can be reduced and the cutting efficiency can be improved without complicating the construction.

In order to achieve a uniform power distribution along the line, it is proposed that the first surface formed of sections with different radii faces the radiation.

Abstract: The present disclosure includes an extendable plumb and level measuring device and associated usage method. The device can utilize interconnected members including a first, a second, and a third member. For example, the third member can be slidingly disposed within the first and second members to extend the device to a set and arbitrary length. The measuring device utilizes a spirit level or digital reader to determine when the device itself is level responsive to positioning a extendable stopper against a construction, such as a wall, door, panel, and the like. Once level, a measuring device, such as a ruler, disposed within the device can be utilized to measure the plumb of the construction. Additionally, the device can function as an extendable level to measure an arbitrary length.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of measuring a clearance of a hub bearing for vehicles. A hub is fixed to a lower jig when a row of hub-side balls is disposed and an outer ring is disposed on an outer periphery of the hub and a row of inner ring-side balls and an inner ring are disposed. A press-fit jig is contacted to the inner ring and a load of less than 5 kgf is applied to an outer surface of the outer ring to prevent its vibration and movement. A gauge is installed to a portion of the outer ring. The inner ring is gradually press-fitted by the jig. An amount of press-fit of the inner ring is measured from when the gauge begins to move when press-fitting of the inner ring is completed. The amount of clearance is simply measured.
