Abstract: A system is described for storing liquids. The system comprises a cap configured to couple to a container. The cap comprises a base surface configured to provide a base for a coupled container; a flip-open lid positioned to enable access to an interior of a coupled container; a first cavity having a floor defined by a portion of the cap and a sidewall defined by a portion of the cap; and a drainage port sized to enable water to drain from the first cavity. By providing one or more drainage ports for the hollow portions of invertible container caps, the tendency of water to pool and stagnate within the caps can be reduced. This can reduces the growth of harmful mold in showers.

Abstract: The invention refers to a procedure for consolidating and sealing a tube, whereby the tube is positioned between a sonotrode and an associated anvil of an ultrasonic welding device, the sonotrode being activated and displaced relative to the counter electrode for consolidating and sealing the tube. In order to enable automatic consolidating and sealing of a tube without individually entering the data of the tube into an ultrasonic welding device in advance, the following steps are proposed: positioning the tube and fixing it between the sonotrode and counter electrode, determining a characteristic variable of the tube with the tube being fixed between the sonotrode and counter electrode, retrieving stored welding parameters on the basis of the characteristic variable and activating the sonotrode and moving the sonotrode and counter electrode in relation towards each other for consolidating and sealing the tube.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing an ultrasonic welding-based microfluidic device, the method including: forming a bottom board having two welding stoppers formed right and left and having a certain height and a certain interval; forming a top board having two energy directors formed with an interval greater than the interval between the two welding stoppers; putting the top board on the bottom board to locate the energy directors at the outside of welding stoppers, respectively; and welding the top board to the bottom board by using ultrasonic welding, wherein a channel is formed between the two welding stoppers without additional energy directors. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent a phenomenon that a fluid irregularly flows due to an uneven surface formed on a side of the channel while the energy directors are melted.

Abstract: According to the invention, a resin-free solder paste made from a metal powder, particularly soft solder and a gel, is prepared, wherein the gel according to the invention leaves no residue on the metal surface during the remelting of the metal powder. The gel according to the invention is based on a mixture that is stable during storage and that comprises carboxylic acid(s), amine(s), and solvent(s). Important uses are the application of soft solder pastes on power-modules, die-attach, chip-on-board, SiP (System-in-Package), for wafer-bumping, particularly on UBM's (Under-Bump-Metallization), and SMT (Surface Mounted Technology), particularly coated circuits. With the use of resin-free soft solder pastes according to the invention, cleaning is eliminated before a protective coating process after the soldering of an electrical connection, and the formation of pores in solder bumps deposited on UBM's is reduced to less than 20 vol. %.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing a board tray (7), to a tray blank feasible for the method, and to a tray obtained by the method. The method comprises moulding a blank of plastic-coated board into the tray (7) comprising a bottom (3), side walls (4), as well as a rim flange (5), the blank being compressed in a direction transverse to the tray's side walls and rim flange. According to the invention, the blank is made thinner on its side opposite to the plastic coating such that, during the moulding process, the plastic coating double-folds at the compressed parts and stabilizes compressions (8) by becoming sealed to itself. Making the blank thinner is most conveniently effected by carving the board layer with a laser beam for having the fiber material predominantly or completely removed from where the cuts are located. As a result of the moulding process, the tray's rim flange (5) develops a smooth plastic surface which enables closing the tray hermetically with a heat-sealed cover.

Abstract: An adjustable strap handle that can be used in connection with a packaging frame. The strap handle provides not only that the effective length of the strap is adjustable, but also provides that no tool needs to be used to install the strap. Additionally, a dual head self-pierce rivet is described that can be used in connection with a packaging frame, specifically to secure cardboard edge pieces to thin sheet metal or cardboard corner pieces and provide structure with which strap handles can engage. The dual head self-pierce rivet has a shank and a poke at its end. The poke is configured to pierce through the cardboard edge pieces of a cube frame, advance into the edge pieces, and flare into a profiled anvil. While a lower head of the rivet seats against the cardboard, an upper head contains and holds a strap handle in a ring groove.
