In the present invention, a tape guide 110 for guiding a component supply tape 35 includes a front guide section 120 provided with an open surface 128 opened on one side thereof in a continuous manner in a tape feed direction, so as to allow a cover tape 37 to be taken in and out relative to the front guide section 120 through the open surface 128. This configuration makes it possible to perform the setting operation for the cover tape 37 through given operational steps, under a condition that the tape guide 110 remains fixed to a component supply unit 40.

Abstract: Process for connecting a first electrically conductive component in the form of a flexible electrical line having metal wires to a second electrically conductive metal component, e.g., a second electrical line or a connecting element. The free end of the flexible electrical line is inserted into a sleeve and is pressed with the latter; in addition, the end of the second electrically conductive component that is assigned to the flexible electrical line is inserted into the free end of the sleeve and is brought into contact on the flexible electrical line, and electrical current is run through these two components, by which their ends that lie on one another are melted together, whereby the sleeve is made from such a metal, which has a higher melting point compared to the metal or the metals of the two components that are to be connected to one another.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a circuit board includes the following steps. First, a core layer is provided, wherein the core layer includes a first dielectric layer, and first and second metallic layers. A through hole is formed in the core layer. The core layer is disposed on a supporting plate, and an embedded component is disposed in the through hole, wherein the second metallic layer contacts the supporting plate, and the embedded component has at least one electrode contacting the supporting plate. The embedded component is mounted in the through hole. The supporting plate is removed. The first and second metallic layers are removed, and the thickness of the electrode of the embedded component is decreased. Third and fourth metallic layers are formed respectively, wherein the fourth metallic layer is electrically connected to the electrode of the embedded component. Finally, the third and fourth metallic layers are patterned so as to respectively form first and second patterned circuit layers.

Abstract: An electronic module with an integrated electromagnetic shield using surface mount shield wall components has been disclosed. Each surface mount shield wall component provides side shielding of the circuitry within the overmolded electronic module and provides an exposed conductive shield wall section to which a top conductive shield can be applied. By including the shield structure as part of the overmolded electronic module, the need for a separate shield and separate process steps for installing the separate shield can be eliminated. Each surface mount shield wall component comprises a non-conductive portion that provides stability during a reflow soldering process, but at least a sacrificial portion of the non-conductive portion can be removed to reduce the amount of area occupied by the overmoldable shield structure.

Abstract: The manufacture or repair of blisks, in particular high-pressure turbine blisks for gas-turbine engines is accomplished by producing a joint between the rotor disk and the pre-manufactured blades by circular friction welding. Due to the small forces and the low acceleration required for heat generation by friction and the balanced circular movement during frictional welding at a constant setting angle between disk and rotor, exact and uniform arrangement and alignment of the blades on the periphery of the rotor disk are possible even with small and complex joining surfaces of the turbine blades and with dissimilar materials.
