Abstract: In one embodiment, harmful solar cell polarization is prevented or minimized by providing a conductive path that bleeds charge from a front side of a solar cell to the bulk of a wafer. The conductive path may include patterned holes in a dielectric passivation layer, a conductive anti-reflective coating, or layers of conductive material formed on the top or bottom surface of an anti-reflective coating, for example. Harmful solar cell polarization may also be prevented by biasing a region of a solar cell module on the front side of the solar cell.

Abstract: A Rosserhead debarker having a cutter head with an improved cutter teeth mounting system. The cutter head drum defines a plurality of cutter tooth slots, each having a recess at its base. The cutter teeth are fitted into the slots with the base of each tooth closely received in the corresponding recess. A portion of each tooth protrudes from the slot to receive a blade. Each cutter tooth may be secured to the drum by a fastener extending in a generally radial direction. Each cutter tooth may include a removal stud that can be used to assist in removing the tooth from the drum. The cutter head may be mounted for axial deflection and may include a pivot yoke lock for selectively locking the cutter head against axial deflection. The pivot yoke lock facilitates certain operations where axial deflection may not be desired, including those in which only one end of the cutter head is riding on the log, such as during butt reducing.

Abstract: A method in one embodiment includes applying a current to a lead of a tunneling magnetoresistance sensor for inducing joule heating of the lead or a heating layer, the level of joule heating being sufficient to anneal a magnetic layer of the sensor; and maintaining the current at the level for an amount of time sufficient to anneal the tunneling magnetoresistive (TMR) sensor. A system in one embodiment comprises a first lead coupled to one end of a tunneling magnetoresistance sensor stack; a second lead coupled to another end of the sensor stack; and a third lead coupled to the first lead, the third lead being selectively coupleable to a ground, wherein a current applied to the first lead at a predetermined level when the third lead is coupled to the ground induces joule heating of the first lead or a heating layer coupled to the first and third leads, the joule heating applied for a predetermined amount of time being sufficient to anneal a magnetic layer of the sensor.

In the heating step, a bearing ring formed as the annular member is heated to a temperature not lower than an A1 point. In the first cooling step, the bearing ring is cooled to a first cooling temperature not higher than an MS point. In the restraint step, the bearing ring is restrained with a restraint member. In the second cooling step, the bearing ring is cooled to a second cooling temperature lower than a restraint start temperature while it remains restrained.
