The wireless communication device is coupled to the slot to provide the slot antenna for communications. An impedance matching network is additionally provided to make the operating frequency of the slot substantially the same as the operating frequency of the wireless communication device. Alternatively, shorting posts may be placed in the slot to define boundaries of the slot to match the operating frequency of the slot to the operating frequency of the antenna. Variable impedance matching is provided between the wireless communication device and the slot.

The system uses an advanced intelligent network to initiate several calls in rapid succession to all calling number delivery subscribers located within a predetermined geographic area. A code identifying the disaster warning message is transmitted to the subscribers' calling number delivery systems in place of an actual calling line identification. Subscribers having calling name delivery service receive the disaster code and a text message briefly describing the disaster warning.

Abstract: A multi-media system for transferring a single program transport stream and a method therefor are provided. A receiver is for receiving a transport stream. For the receiver to control recording and reproduction performed by a recording/reproducing device, the receiver selects one program to constitute a single program transport stream and transfers the single program transport stream to the recording/reproducing device. Here, a program number is transferred, by correcting program association table (PAT) information of the transport stream. Accordingly, the recording/reproducing device can recognize the program number within the single program transport stream to be recorded. Therefore, the receiver can perform remote control of the recording/reproducing device without the extra transfer of the program number. Also, the receiver provides an on-screen graphic (OSG) to the recording/reproducing device, resulting in an OSG of consistent appearance.

A plating seed layer of a first metal is formed over the at least one barrier layer. A photoresist layer is deposited over the plating seed layer. Portions of the photoresist layer and portions of the plating seed layer outside of the at least one recess are removed. Photoresist remaining in the at least one recess is removed. A second metal is electroplated to the plating seed layer in the recess, using the barrier layer to conduct electrical current.

A first device broadcasts a message of a first type, chooses a value for a time limit and listens for a message sent by a second device. If no message has been received before time limit, elapse, it again broadcasts a message of a first type. Otherwise, the message received from said second device is analyzed and if said message includes valid information about said first device chooses a value for the time limit. However, if said message received does not include valid service description about said first device, a message of a second type is broadcast. This reduces useless broadcast of a complete service list. Broadcast may be initiated more often and, service discovery for new devices coming into proximity takes less time.

Abstract: A CRC generation unit is equipped with multiple polynomial division circuits (PDC) to perform multiple different bit lengths polynomial divisions in parallel, including outputting of multiple remainder values, for an iteration of an iterative CRC generation for a data block. In one embodiment, the unit also includes a selector to select one of the remainder values, and a register to store the selected remainder value, return the stored remainder value to the PDCs for formation of different bit length dividends, and output the stored remainder value of the last iteration as the generated CRC value. In one embodiment, the unit further includes alignment circuitry to align the data block. In one embodiment, multiple units are provided to generate the CRC values of successive variable length data blocks. In one embodiment, the units form a shared resource to multiple network traffic flow processing units of a network traffic routing IC.

The authorization communication requests authorization information from the sender. When the authorization system receives the authorization information, it determines whether the information is correct. If correct, then the authorization system indicates that the sender is authorized and forwards the communication to the recipient. When a subsequent communication sent from the sender to the recipient is received, the authorization system may automatically determine that the sender is authorized and forward the communication to the recipient without re-contacting the sender.

Abstract: A system helps a disabled person more fully utilize a swimming pool by transporting the person over the pool water and lowering the person toward the water for entry thereinto. The device uses a base that has a lift platform that is capable of being raised and lowered as well as rotated. The base is at least partially submerged within the pool and has a stairway abutting it. Three separate platforms extend outwardly from the base and rest on the pool deck. Each platform has a rail system thereon which is traversable by a chair that rides on the rail systems. Transition between out rail and another is accomplished at the lift platform which operates similar to a railway roundhouse turntable.

Abstract: A repair kit is provided for extending the use of inflatable pools. When the inflatable ring around the top of such a pool is deflated, flotation devices are placed under the flap of the inflatable ring. Any flotation devices may be used that are safe, provide buoyancy, and will not puncture the material of the ring, for example the foam flotation devices called “noodles.” The flotation devices are kept in place under the flap of the ring by a binding apparatus with sufficient weight to keep the flotation devices from floating loose. For example, a standard garden hose may be inserted through a small slit in the ring to serve as binding. The repair kit may be used on a pool with a ring without a leak, to avoid having subsequent leaks. The repair kit also allows a pool to be filled higher with water than when the pool's ring is inflated.

Abstract: A gasket for securing and sealing a sink in an opening of a counter. The gasket includes a body having a flange adapted to engage a portion of the sink. The gasket also includes at least one projection spaced apart from the flange. The at least one projection engages an inner surface of the counter when installed. Accordingly, the gasket enables top-down, press fit installation of the sink. A method of using the gasket is also disclosed.
