  • Patent number: 7624528
Abstract: A rifle scope system allows adjustment of the scope while a shooter maintains the shooting posture and the scope sight picture. The scope system comprises an adjustment system comprising an electromechanical mechanism that responds to a signal from a remote controller manipulated by the shooter without having to significantly disturb the shooting posture. The adjustment system allows the shooter to adjust the scope's point of aim to coincide with a bullet's point of impact at a target. Such adjustment can be performed either by the shooter. Alternatively, such adjustment could be performed by a processor configured to adjust the point of aim based on a ballistic parameter associated with the bullet or the shooting environment. The adjustment system allows such processor-determined adjustments to be effected in a quick manner.

  • Patent number: 7624560
Abstract: A depth of cut/height adjuster for a grass treatment insert mounted to rotate in a frame supported on front and rear rollers. The adjuster permits an operator to vary the height of a frame relative to the front roller and thereby adjust the depth of cut of the grass treatment insert. The depth/height adjuster includes a frame mount block for attachment to the frame. The frame mounting block has a throughbore in which is threaded a shaft. A roller mounting block for attachment to the front roller is rotatably mounted on a lower end of the shaft. A vertical gauge attached to the roller mounting block when aligned with a marker on the frame mounting block (such as the bottom edge) indicates the relative distance between the roller mounting block and frame mounting block which is correlated with a height setting of the grass treatment insert.

  • Patent number: 7624561
Abstract: A windrow merger lift mechanism having on a pair of rotational axes, skewed with respect to each other, to manipulate a merger apparatus between working and non-working positions. When the merger apparatus is in a first, or working position, the lift mechanism positions it to receive crop material from the conditioner rolls with minimal losses. When the merger apparatus is in a second, or non-working position, the lift mechanism positions the merger apparatus to allow crop material to be discharged from the header/conditioner with the same efficiency as a windrower having no installed merger attachment. The skewed axes of the merger lift mechanism optimize the merger position in both the working and non-working positions by moving the merger apparatus in four distinct, but related degrees of motion as the merger apparatus is moved between the positions.

  • Patent number: 7624562
Abstract: A mower has a rotary cutting deck with a discharge opening covered by a discharge chute. A pivotal gate is placed beneath the discharge chute to pivot relative to the discharge opening between a closed position in which the gate blocks the discharge opening and an open position in which the gate opens the discharge opening, thereby providing discharge and non-discharge modes of operation respectively. A pivotal handle can be pivoted between first and second positions to thereby pivot the gate between the open and closed positions thereof. The handle and gate are arranged so that at least some portion of the handle extends in directions relative to the mower that are the same as the directions the gate extends relative to the discharge opening so that an operator can simply position the handle by observation of the handle portion to position the handle portion in an orientation corresponding to a desired orientation of the gate.

  • Patent number: 7624564
Abstract: A fuel supply system and method thereof that utilizes an off-gas in addition to the primary fuel to lower the emissions of a gas turbine combustion system is disclosed. The fuel supply system apparatus comprises a fuel gas supply conduit and an off-gas supply conduit in fluid communication with the fuel gas supply conduit such that the flow of an off-gas to the fuel gas supply conduit can be regulated as required by the operator to the desired fuel nozzle(s). The fuel gas supply preferably operates with natural gas and the off-gas supply preferably comprises the constituents hydrogen and methane.

  • Patent number: 7624566
Abstract: A Hall effect plasma accelerator includes inner and outer electromagnets, circumferentially surrounding the inner electromagnet along a thruster centerline axis and separated therefrom, inner and outer magnetic conductors, in physical connection with their respective inner and outer electromagnets, with the inner magnetic conductor having a mostly circular shape and the outer magnetic conductor having a mostly annular shape, a discharge chamber, located between the inner and outer magnetic conductors, a magnetically conducting back plate, in magnetic contact with the inner and outer magnetic conductors, and a combined anode electrode/gaseous propellant distributor, located at a bottom portion of the discharge chamber. The inner and outer electromagnets, the inner and outer magnetic conductors and the magnetically conducting back plate form a magnetic circuit that produces a magnetic field that is largely axial and radially symmetric with respect to the thruster centerline.

  • Patent number: 7624567
Abstract: A nozzle system includes a multitude of circumferentially distributed convergent flaps, divergent flaps and inter-flap seals which circumscribe an engine centerline and define the radial outer boundary of an exhaust gas path. Each divergent flap includes longitudinal sides having a set of extension which are located at different longitudinal stations such that the extensions on adjacent divergent flaps interfit when the nozzle is in a minimum dilated position yet provide support for the intermediate flap seal when the nozzle is in a maximum dilated position to thereby provide a relative increase in the nozzle area ratio range.

  • Patent number: 7624568
Abstract: When both catalyst degradation and catalyst odor need to be suppressed when a fuel cut condition is satisfied, a fuel cut control is executed giving priority to control for suppressing catalyst odor, though a required air amount G* for idling is drawn in at that time. Therefore, when shifting the engine into an idle state to suppress catalyst degradation after the catalyst odor has been eliminated, the required air amount G* for idling is already being drawn in so there is no need to adjust the air amount. As a result, there is no time delay for air amount adjustment. Therefore, after the control to suppress catalyst odor has ended, a smooth shift can be made into control to suppress degradation of the exhaust gas control catalyst.

  • Patent number: 7624569
Abstract: Engines that include different combustion strategies for different cylinders may create a power imbalance resulting in undesirable engine vibrations. The engine system of the present disclosure includes a first engine that is operable to produce a high NOx concentration exhaust and a second engine that is operable to produce a low NOx concentration exhaust. The first engine is fluidly connected to a first section of an exhaust passage and the second engine is fluidly connected to a second section of the exhaust passage. The exhaust from the first engine and the exhaust from the second engine are merged in a merged section of the exhaust passage downstream from both the first and second sections of the exhaust passages. The high NOx concentration exhaust may be converted to ammonia for reacting with the low NOx concentration exhaust to arrive at very low NOx concentration from the merged exhaust.

  • Patent number: 7624570
Abstract: A method is provided for regenerating a LNT in a diesel engine exhaust aftertreatment system. Typically, the aftertreatment system comprises a fuel reformer, a LNT, and a SCR catalyst in that order. Over the course of the regeneration, the concentration or flow rate of syn gas is increased, peaked, and then reduced. Preferably, the syn gas concentration or flow rate and the fuel reformer temperature are simultaneously controlled using at least a fuel injector and an engine intake air throttle. The pattern of increasing the syn gas concentration or flow rate during a first part of the regeneration and decreasing the syn gas concentration of flow rate in a latter part of the regeneration reduces the fuel penalty for the regeneration and improves the ammonia production rate as compared to a system in which the syn gas concentration or flow rate is essentially constant throughout the regeneration.
