  • Publication number: 20090320272
Abstract: A rivet is inserted into a workpiece by an apparatus that includes an internal roller screw linear actuator in which rotational movement of an internally threaded cylinder is converted into linear movement of a fastener insertion actuator assembly. The cylinder is driven in rotation by a servo-controlled motor. The angular velocity of the cylinder required to deliver the required energy to effect fastener insertion is calculated and the motor is first controlled to accelerate the cylinder up to the calculated angular velocity, the actuator assembly simultaneously being moved by the cylinder towards the workpiece. The motor is then controlled to maintain the angular velocity of the cylinder at not less than the calculated magnitude at least until insertion of the fastener. The cylinder stores kinetic energy by virtue of its inertia. Using this inertia to insert fasteners eliminates the need for position or force feedback control. The process allows for a rapid cycle time and the apparatus is compact.

Abstract: A groove is formed on a handling member, on a face to be fixed to an element, the groove making up a portion of a channel that externally communicates in the state of being fixed to the element. The handling member is fixed so that the cleavage direction of the vibrating membrane and the edge direction of the groove of the handling member intersect. Thus, the probability that a membrane will break during handling or processing of the substrate is reduced, and the handling member can be quickly removed from the substrate.

Abstract: A method for manufacturing a metallic keypad panel having a ripple luster is described. First, a metallic thin plate is prepared. The metallic thin plate is subjected to an etching process, thereby forming a plurality of keypads having hollowed portions. The metallic thin plate is cut to form a metallic keypad panel having a predetermined shape. Then, an electroplated layer is coated on the surface of the metallic keypad panel. A layer of protective film is adhered on the non-electroplated surface of the metallic keypad panel. Finally, the metallic keypad panel is disposed in a mold. A plastic material is then injected into the mold, so that the plastic material is formed into a pattern layer. In addition, a plastic thin plate is prepared. One side surface of the plastic thin plate is printed with a displaying layer. The plastic thin plate is adhered on elastic bodies having a plurality of protrusions. Abstract: A gauge for determining the angle of sloped ground includes a panel, having a transparent window located in it, which can be held by a user so that the sloped ground can be viewed through the window. The panel has a spatial reference associated with it which allows the panel to be oriented properly with respect to the horizontal or vertical. Inscribed on the window are a positioning indicia and a plurality of lines which radiate outwardly from the positioning indicia at specific angles with respect to the horizontal. In use the panel is held such that the positioning indicia is located on the slope. The user can then determine which one of the lines overlies the slope. The angle associated with that line is the angle of the slope.
