Abstract: A curl prevention plate for a replaceable blade for microtome is provided with an overlap plate portion overlapped on the replaceable blade and a curl prevention plate portion having guard functions. The curl prevention plate is connected to the overlap plate portion and arranged in a cutting direction. A slit for exposing the cutting edge of the replaceable blade overlapped on the overlap plate portion is formed between the overlap plate portion and the curl prevention plate portion. The slit extends along the longitudinal direction of the overlap plate portion and intersects the cutting direction. As a result, it is possible to provide a curl prevention plate for a replaceable blade, which is simple in structure and capable of not only preventing thin slices cut out from a sample from being curled and protecting an operator's hands and fingers from being injured, but also allowing an operator to visually check the state of the thin slices cut out from the sample instantly.

Abstract: A method and system for controlling actuators in a mechanical reproducing piano or other instrument. In one implementation, a single finite state machine is provided to control all the actuators. The finite state machine may be or include a shift register or a toggle register, which increases the operating speed. When a note is to be played, the desired dynamic is mapped into a start vector and a stop vector. The actuator is turned on when the state of the finite state machine is equal to the start vector, and is turned off when the state of the finite state machine is equal to the stop vector. Furthermore, the period of the finite state machine is adjusted to be directly proportional to the supply voltage. This allows notes to be played at the desired dynamics even when the supply voltage fluctuates.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus facilitating the cooking of multiple products simultaneously. More particularly, the present invention relates to cooking tray and cooking rack for securing the cooking tray. The cooking tray of the present invention comprises a downward extending member, a planar surface, convex rounded edges, lateral straight edges, convex upward extending surfaces, lateral upward extending surfaces, a transition area, and circulation vents. The cooking tray is inserted into a cooking rack along support bars or a platform and is secured using a downward extending member that is obstructed by a wire or the edge of the platform, deterring the cooking tray from falling or shifting during use. The cooking tray is removable from the cooking rack by lifting the cooking tray up the height of the downward extending member. The cooking tray is made of either a punched aluminum or wire, with circulation vents such that the products being cooked may be cooked evenly.

Abstract: The present invention is an improvement upon such machines as the McGill #3 Rough Rice Milling Machine, and replica models like the McGill #3 Rough Rice Milling, by eliminating the 5 wear points associated with the machine: back plate, rear plate threaded collar, rear plate rings, back plate wear rings and excentric threaded locking nut. Since these five wear areas are of different structural material, back plate: cast aluminum, rear plate: mild steel, eccentric locking nut: cast bronze, the wear rate is not uniform or predictable, thus causing a draft or misalignment of the milling cylinder in the milling basket assembly. The break bars in the Milling Basket Assembly must be in perfect alignment with the shaft that the milling cylinder rotates on. If a misalignment occurs due to wear or uneven wear on the basket assembly then misrepresentative results of the milling yield will occur.
