Abstract: The invention relates to a ballistic resistant sheet comprising a stack of at least 4 monolayers, each monolayer containing unidirectionally oriented reinforcing fibres with a tensile strength of between 3.5 and 4.5 GPa, and at most 20 mass % of a matrix material, the areal density of a monolayer is at least 25 g/m2 and with the fibre direction in each monolayer being rotated with respect to the fibre direction in an adjacent monolayer. The invention further relates to a ballistic resistant moulded article, i.e. a shaped part, comprising at least two ballistic resistant sheets according to the invention, which may be used as, for example, a panel for use in e.g. a vehicle, especially a curved panel, a hard insert e.g. for use in protective clothing and bullet resistant vests, etc. The ballistic resistant moulded article optionally may have a ceramic or a metal strike face.

The mask can be removed from the elongate mounting portion by releasing the quick release mechanism. The covers can be removably affixed to various locations on the garment that would allow them to be detached from the garment before or after insertion of a hand. Various tabs located on the covers aid in inserting and adjusting the covers on the hand and/or instrument. In a specific embodiment, the covers and/or garment comprise one or more heat sensitive materials, such that some portion of a cover can be temporarily heat-sealed to the garment for later removal. In a further embodiment, the garment and covers are sterile and disposable.

Abstract: A shape enhancing garment to be worn upon a wearers body for the purpose of increasing or enhancing a visual buttock profile of the wearer is described. The shape enhancing garment is characterised in that it includes an outer rear fabric portion and an inner rear fabric portion arranged in an overlying manner. The shape enhancing garment further includes a first pocket and a second pocket, each pocket located upon an inner surface of the inner rear fabric portion. Each pocket is arranged to receive a shape defining pad and to retain the shape defining pad therein such that, in use, each shape defining pad is disposed adjacent a buttock of the wearer so as to create a visual buttock profile that is enhanced. A shape defining pad for use in a shape defining garment is also described, as is a method of manufacture of said shape defining pad.

The garment includes a back panel, a right side panel attached to and extending from a right side of the back panel, and a left side panel attached to and extending from a left side of the back panel. A sleeve is affixed to and extends generally across an interior of at least one of the right side panel and the left side panel. Fastening means secures the right side panel and the left side panel to one another, so that when the right side panel and the left side panel are secured to one another, the interior sleeve is capable of holding the arm of the user in a generally uniform position against a front of the user's torso.

Abstract: A versatile poncho preferably for a child is provided. By its unique configuration, the poncho of the present invention allows for convenient and safe use for a child while fastened in a car safety seat. The preferred embodiment of the poncho includes an opening on a moveable panel and includes, under the opening, a flap, such that the moveable panel can be moved over the child's head so that the child may be strapped into a car safety seat more safely and comfortably because the child may be placed directly against the seat and the straps may be placed directly against the child without a bulky winter garment between the seat and the child, and the flap covers a portion of the child to provide thermal protection while being strapped in. A method of using the poncho and of fabricating and assembling the poncho is also disclosed.

For example, a weight apparatus incorporates an elongate closed tube suitable for wrapping around a user's arm (e.g., wrist), leg (e.g., ankle), neck, or other extremity, and further includes attachment means for securing the weight around the extremity. In another embodiment, exercise clothing include garments that create resistance against the movement of an extremity, such as resistance against regular, everyday motions incurred in selected activities of humans or animals. An exercise garment may include desirable performance features, such as slimming of a body part through compression or tension, which may be selected based, in part, on anatomical fit.

Abstract: The application is directed to self-securing garments designed to be donned quickly and safely secured to the body in a matter of seconds. Described are garments having an opening in the back terminating at two opposite edges. Attached to the outside of the garment is at least one flexible elongated band at least partially comprised of a shape-memory material. The ends of the band are formed into dual, oppositely wound coils. To use, the wearer puts on the garment as usual and, grasping a flexible coil in each hand, pulls them so that they unwind and elongate while simultaneously wrapping them around the sides of the body. Upon release, the shape-memory material causes the coil to contract, thus embracing the body and holding the garment between the body and the uncoiled band. The garment can have one or more coiled bands, such as at the waist, chest, or neck, to secure the garment closely to the body quickly and without assistance.

Abstract: Various articles of apparel having a cylindrical portion, such as an arm region or a leg region, for extending around a joint (such as an elbow or a knee) of a wearer are disclosed. The cylindrical portion includes a textile material, for example, and a pattern located on a surface of the textile material or knitted into the textile material. The pattern has a first density in at least one area of the cylindrical portion oriented substantially parallel to a plane of bending of the joint, and the pattern has a second density in at least one area of the cylindrical portion oriented substantially perpendicular to the plane of bending of the joint. A purpose of the pattern may be to decrease the probability of an overuse syndrome or other injury occurring as a result of use of the joint.

The head covering is open on one side for allowing a wearer to wear the head covering. The head covering has inner and outer surfaces with a channel formed through the inner and outer surfaces. The hair retaining sleeve has an opening formed in one end. The sleeve is affixed to the head covering and positioned to align the opening in the sleeve with the channel through the inner and outer surfaces of the head covering. When the head covering is worn by a wearer, the wearer's hair is able to be passed through the channel and into the sleeve through the opening.

Abstract: A pant leg retaining device for or in a pair of pants is provided to support the weight and bulk of pants in such a way as to allow a blousing effect at the knee such that the pant fabrics do not compress on the thigh/knee area and restrict leg motion. The use of a strap or retaining/restricting assembly mounted at mid-calf in or on the pant which when tightened gathers the pant leg mass just below the knee creating a blousing or pocket at and above the knee, and holds it in place. By constricting the pant at this point, the pant leg will not fall back down, rendering the pant leg bloused until the restricting/retaining means or strap is released, which is easily accomplished by means of a quick release buckle on the strap or elastic band type restraining device.

The support member includes an improved lift strap having an inner core and an outer plastic layer that can be easily and effectively cleaned with standard disinfectant. In the preferred embodiment, the support member is used in an electric ceiling- or floor-mounted patient lifting device. The preferred lifting device is composed of a track component attached to a winch assembly. The winch assembly has an electric motor that raises and lowers the lift strap by means of a spool assembly and belt clamp assembly. The belt clamp assembly attaches to a sling that supports the patient while he or she is displaced.
