Publication number: 20100096023Abstract: A pressure surge sensor has a body having a cylinder passage, a magnetically actuated electrical switch mounted on the body, and a piston member movable along the passage relative to the switch. The piston member carries a magnet. When the cylinder passage is coupled to a fluid pressure surge source, a fluid pressure surge applied causes the piston member to move along the cylinder passage relative to said switch, thereby actuating the switch. A breakable retainer element restrains the piston member against movement, and the piston is freely movable along the cylinder passage, after release by the retainer. The pressure surge sensor is suitable to be arranged downstream of a rupture disc, which releases overpressure of a pressurised apparatus, for example an extrusion apparatus, or a gas handling or gas storage system.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 19, 2009Publication date: April 22, 2010Inventor: Christopher John Widdas

Resolution Means: In a pneumatic tire 1, a distance t from an equatorial plane CL of a tire to outer circumferential main grooves 52 and a distance b from the equatorial plane CL of the tire to an edge of a belt edge cushion 35 in the width direction of the tire satisfy 0.85?t/b?0.90, in a cross-section in a meridian direction of the tire. Moreover, a distance d, which is half the width of a belt ply 33 having the largest width, and a distance u from the equatorial plane of the tire to narrow grooves, satisfy 0.97?d/u?1.03. Furthermore, a distance a, which is half the width of a belt ply in the outermost layer, and a distance t, of outer circumferential main grooves, satisfy 1.15?a/t?1.25.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 14, 2009Publication date: April 22, 2010Inventor: Takayuki Suzuki

Publication number: 20100096063Abstract: To improve imaging characteristics of a composite item fabricated from a layup of composite material, layers of sheet molding materials are interleaved with layers of organized fiber structure prepreg to generate the layup and the layup is positioned in a mold cavity of a matched die form. In addition, a first form of the matched die form is urged towards a second form of the matched die form to facilitate flow of a portion of the layup from an area of excess composite material in the mold cavity to an area of insufficient composite material in the mold cavity and the layup is cured to generate the composite item.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2006Publication date: April 22, 2010Inventor: S. Publication number: 20100096068Abstract: A method of protecting and repairing surfaces of structures using hand-laid epoxy and glass-aramid fabric composite is taught. Unlike the use of such composites as structural members, the present invention makes use of such composites in novel and inventive applications. Also unlike other methods, the invention is carefully hand-laid to conform closely to any irregular surfaces on the structure to be protected or repaired. The product of the method of the present invention is tougher than conventional paints and coatings and lasts significantly longer than conventional paints and coatings.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 23, 2009Publication date: April 22, 2010Applicant: OFFSHORE TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT PTE LTDInventors: Kok Seng Foo, Chin Kau Quah
