  • Patent number: 7748873
Abstract: The present invention relates to a side illumination lens and a luminescent device using the same, and provides a body, a total reflection surface with a total reflection slope with respect to a central axis of the body, and a linear and/or curved refractive surface(s) formed to extend from a periphery of the total reflection surface; and a luminescent device including the lens. According to the present invention, a lens with total internal reflection surfaces with different slopes, and a linear and/or curved refractive surface(s) allows light emitted forward from a luminescent chip to be guided to a side of the lens. Further, a linear surface(s) formed in a direction perpendicular or parallel to a central axis of a lens and a curved surface are formed on an edge of the lens so that a process of fabricating the lens is facilitated, thereby reducing a defective rate and fabrication costs of the lens.

  • Patent number: 7748897
Abstract: A method for monitoring the proper functioning of a temperature-dependent resistor, particularly a NTC resistor, for measuring the temperature of a medium heated by a heat source. Said medium is preferably the air flow in a clothes dryer for drying clothes. In order to increase the safety of a device, in particular a clothes dryer, where the temperature-dependent resistor is used in combination with a heat source, it is checked, once the heat source is switched on, whether the temperature measured by the resistor after a first predetermined period of time following the switching on of the heat source falls below a predetermined temperature threshold value. If this is the case, monitoring of a resistor-temperature curve characteristic of the temperature-dependent resistor is carried out.

  • Patent number: 7748899
Abstract: An X-ray radiology device comprising a rotating and flat lift. For this X-ray device to operate correctly, it is necessary to obtain and maintain, for all the incidence angles, a perfect alignment of the focal point of the X-ray tube, the element observed and the detector. This geometric imperative is achieved in one embodiment by means of a compensation system. The compensation system includes a cam fitted to a free end of the lift. The compensation system includes a lever in contact with the profile of the cam. The lever is in contact with the detector or the tube connected to the lift. Thus, when the lift rotates, the cam pushes the lever, which in return pushes the tube or the detector in order to align it.

  • Patent number: 7748909
Abstract: A vehicle wheel bearing apparatus has an outer member with a body flange and double row outer raceway surfaces. An inner member includes a wheel hub and an inner ring. They include inner raceway surfaces arranged opposite to the double row outer raceway surfaces. Double row rolling elements are freely rollably contained between the outer and inner raceway surfaces. Outer side rolling elements of the double row rolling elements are balls and inner side rolling elements of the double row rolling elements are tapered rollers. A pitch circle diameter of the inner side tapered rollers is set smaller than that of the outer side balls. A substantially conical recess is formed at an outer side end portion of the wheel hub. The depth of the recess extends to at least near the bottom of the inner raceway surface of the wheel hub. The thickness of a portion of the wheel hub where the inner raceway surface is formed is set within a predetermined range.

Abstract: A single-lens reflex camera has a first image pickup device as a main image pickup device, a second image pickup device for live-view observation, a reflection mirror which switches an optical path between an optical path directed toward the first image pickup device and an optical path directed toward the second image pickup device, and a control section. When the shooting operation is instructed with the second image pickup device driven and a live-view displayed, the control section starts driving the reflection mirror to retract the reflection mirror from the optical path, and stops the second image pickup device and starts driving the first image pickup device while the reflection mirror is driven in a retracting direction.

The printer ribbon is mounted on two spools each of which is driven by a respective stepper motor. A controller controls the energization of the motor such that the ribbon is transported in at least one direction between spools mounted on the spool support. The controller is operative to energize both motors to drive the spools of ribbon in the direction of ribbon transport to achieve push-pull operations. Ribbon tension is monitored to enable accurate control of ribbon supply and ribbon take-up, the ribbon tension being monitored, for example, by monitoring power supply to the two stepper motors.
