Glove 10 is tightened around the wearer's hand using tightening system 18, which includes a lace 32, a lace guide 34, and a tightening mechanism 36. Lace 32 is threaded through lace guide 34 positioned opposite tightening mechanism 36 on back surface 24 and attached at opposite ends to tightening mechanism 36. In an advantageous aspect of the present invention, lace 32 is tensioned to draw lace guide 34 toward tightening mechanism 36, which tightens glove 10 around the wearer's hand.

Also disclosed is a multiple-coating method of manufacturing an elastomeric film comprising the steps of: (i) providing a composition comprising a synthetic polymer, a cross linking agent, wherein the concentration of the total solids in the composition is between 5-20% by weight of the composition, (ii) contacting the composition with a mould to form a layer of composition on the mould, (iii) contacting the layer of composition on the mould with a further amount of the composition to form a further layer, (iv) drying the composition, and (v) curing the composition.

Abstract: A toilet transfer system is described for assisting a person to transfer between a wheelchair and a toilet. The system comprises a base unit that is attached to a toilet and that may be supported by one or more legs. The system further comprises a transfer board that is rotatably coupled to the base unit, allowing the transfer board to be positioned in a variety of positions without need to detach the toilet transfer system from the toilet. The transfer board may be pointed forward to allow the wheelchair to be positioned for transfer, pointed towards the wheelchair for transfer, and pointed back for compact storage between transfers and for normal use of the toilet. A coupling system accommodates height differentials between the toilet and the wheelchair, and allows the transfer board to become lifted up off the base unit and/or rotated without becoming misaligned from the base unit.

Abstract: A method of making foam imparts antimicrobial and antiodorant qualities to the foam. Green tea powder is added to the polyol raw materials for making memory foam. The green tea memory foam is used to make pillows, cushions and mattresses. Green tea foam in the top layer of a mattress acts as an antiodorant such that less of the chemical smell of the memory foam is perceived by the user. In addition, the bacteria and mold that would otherwise develop in the moist warmer sleeping environment on memory foam are killed by the green tea additive to the foam. Measurable antimicrobial and antiodorant qualities in the green tea foam are achievable by adding green tea powder constituting less than 2% of the weight of the resulting green tea foam. A neck-support contour pillow is made using memory foam that contains green tea and a green dye.

Abstract: A stiffening system for the perimeter edges of a foam core mattress comprising a coil spring (or other spring-based) structure disposed along one or more perimeter edges (e.g., one or both side edges, the foot, the head, or a combinations thereof including the foot and both side edges) of a mattress having a foam sleeping area. The perimeter spring structure is rectangular or square in cross-section and provides sufficient stiffness for comfortable seating on the edges of the mattress and is joined to the foam core by planar fabric elements that span the joint between them and are attached to both. The sleep area provides the softness and other salutary effects of a foam sleeping surface while the stiffer spring perimeter element provides the rigidity need for comfortable seating and wear resistance.
