  • Patent number: 7770848
Abstract: Apparatus and methods provide an electrically isolating clamp that is suitable for use, among other locations, within a composite wing structure and other fuel environments. According to embodiments described herein, the clamp includes a clamp body and cushion. The clamp body is manufactured from a non-conductive material and includes a strap and a base. The cushion may be manufactured from a different non-conductive material to provide at least two layers of electrical isolation between the tube or other object being secured and a structure. The cushion material allows for axial movement of the tube through the cushion. The cushion is disposed between the strap and the base. Shoulder flanges prevent axial movement of the cushion with respect to the clamp body. The clamp may have a cushion retention mechanism to secure the cushion within the strap prior to installation around the tube.

  • Patent number: 7770849
Abstract: A cable clamp-bracket combination for rigidly connecting to an item to be suspended, especially a HVAC duct suspended from the ceiling of a structure. The combination utilizing, e.g., a commercially available cable clamp rigidly but removably connected to the clamp in a position where openings in the bracket surfaces mate with the cable channels through the clamp and a slot through the bracket mates with a clamp release projection on the clamp. The cable clamp includes a clamp clutch adjacent each cable channel for holding a support cable. The combination resulting in a rigid connection between the clamp and the item (e.g., duct) and a non-slip connection between the supporting cables and the item. The bracket can be formed from a flat plate having preformed openings and connecting elements by bending the plate into the desired form for holding the clamp and being securable to the, e.g., duct.

  • Patent number: 7770851
Abstract: One aspect of the present invention relates to a retaining element for securing at least one elongate member to an installation surface in conjunction with a fastener. The retaining element includes a first portion and at least one second portion. The first portion secures the retaining element to the installation surface. The at least one second portion engages the elongate member. Also, the second portion defines a single continuous arch formed by a plurality of engagement surfaces disposed on a bottom side of the second portion. The engagement surfaces define a portion of the perimeter of at least two substantially overlapping shapes, such as ellipses, having different dimensions. In this way, upon installation the elongate member directly engages and is secured to both the installation surface and at least one of the engagement surfaces.

  • Patent number: 7770858
Abstract: A mounting bracket is adapted for mounting a field device, as well as to a field device that for the purpose of attachment to a mounting surface comprises such a mounting bracket. The mounting bracket comprises (a) a first bracket strap which includes a first rotary bearing, (b) a second bracket strap, spaced apart from the first bracket strap by a space, including a second rotary bearing and (c) at least one movable lock on one of the two bracket straps. The rotary bearings are designed to articulate on two opposing sides of a field device that may be arranged in the space so that the field device may be rotated, on an imaginary axis that extends through the space, from a first angle position to a second angle position. The lock is designed to engage the field device in order to in this way resist a torque of the field device in that the lock converts the torque to a pair of forces which is removable by way of one of the rotary bearings and by way of the lock itself.

  • Patent number: 7770859
Abstract: The invention relates to a holding element for fastening equipment elements to a supporting rail with a rail head having an essentially elliptical cross-sectional outer contour which is fastened to an inner supporting structure of a fuselage cell of an aircraft. The holding element has, inter alia, two resilient and pivotable clamping arms which, when “clamped on”, bear against the rail head and thereby bring about an initial fixing of the holding element on the supporting rail. The holding element can still be displaced longitudinally in this state. If the holding element is pressed further upward onto the supporting rail counter to the resilient action of two silicone buffers, a plug-in pin latches together with a spring clip and, by means of an upwardly moving locking frame, the locking of the clamping arms takes place at the same time, and therefore the clamping arms are secured against an intentional expansion in this “locked state”.

  • Patent number: 7770860
Abstract: A modular ceiling-mounted medical services system including a vertical column supported by an articulating arm assembly. Rotational joints connect the column to the lower arm, the lower arm to the upper arm, and the upper arm to the ceiling mount. Rotational movement at each of the joints is controlled by an electrically-released electromagnetic brake, and all of the brakes may be controlled by a switch panel on the column. Thus, the entire assembly is held in place until the switch is activated. Slight hand pressure is sufficient to operate the switch while simultaneously pushing or pulling the column into the desired position. The service lines that supply the outlets in the column all pass through large central openings in the brakes. In this way, the brake mechanism is stronger and more reliable, and the profile and footprint of the entire assembly can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 7770862
Abstract: A rotatable support mechanism is attached to a body of an electronic device for upholding the body on a plane and adjusting relative positions between the body and the plane. The rotatable support mechanism includes a base, a rotatable disk, and an elastic stopper. The base attached to the body of the electronic device has an axle. The rotatable disk has a holder and a groove. The axle passes a sidewall of the groove. The rotatable disk rotates around the axle as an axis. The sidewall of the groove has at least an opening. The elastic stopper mounted to the axle has an elastic shell fragment and does not rotate with the disk. As the disk is rotated, the elastic shell fragment enters and passes through the opening to exert a resistance force to the disk. Therefore, the electronic device is upheld vertically or horizontally by the rotatable support mechanism.

Abstract: A system reads an identifier from a hand of cards to identify the cards. For example, the system can read an identifier from a pair of cards forming the initial hand in blackjack, where the one card is face up and the other card is face down. The system determines the value of a hand of cards form the read identifiers. For example, the system can determine a value of an initial hand of two cards in blackjack, while only one card is face up. The system can inform a dealer of the value, or status based on value, of the hand. The system can determine whether cards forming a hand of cards are authenticate by validating the cards based on the read identifier. The system can determine if the cards forming the hand of cards are in an expected sequence based on a knowledge of the initial sequence of cards in a deck.
