  • Patent number: 7832997
Abstract: A variable capacity gerotor pump includes an inner rotor that is axially displaceable with respect to the outer rotor to vary the volumetric capacity of the pump. An active piston abuts the lower surface of the inner rotor and can ride inside the outer rotor, as the inner rotor is axially displaced, to provide the necessary scaling of the lower surface of the inner rotor with respect to the outer rotor. A passive piston, against which a return spring acts, abuts the upper surface of the inner rotor to provide the necessary sealing of the upper surface of the inner rotor with respect to the outer rotor. In an embodiment, a control chamber, supplied with pressurized working fluid, generates a force acting against the force of the return spring to move the inner rotor to reduce the volumetric capacity of the pump. In another embodiment, a control mechanism, such as an electric solenoid or mechanical mechanism, acts on the control piston against the force of the return spring.

  • Patent number: 7832998
Abstract: An extrusion apparatus is taught that employs a die adapter that is partially submerged in a heat transfer bath on a horizontal plane such that there is no air gap between the die extrusion aperture and the heat transfer bath. A porous dam is positioned between the die and the heat transfer bath. A heat insulating plate is positioned between the porous dam and the die to prevent the heat transfer medium from flowing onto the die. The heat insulating plate also prevents excessive cooling of the die tip thereby allowing the necessary precise thermal control over the extrudate skin formation to prevent melt fracture and form a low density extrudate with a smooth solid skin and inner foamed core.

  • Patent number: 7833010
Abstract: The present invention provides a system and method for injecting natural gas in an RTO. The RTO may be, for example, a known type that has a rotary distributor, a center section divided into pie-shaped segments above the rotary distributor, a heat exchanger section above the center section, and a combustion chamber above the heat exchanger. According to an aspect of the invention, the system introduces gas into segments of the center section in a sequenced manner via cycling on/off control valves. In a particular embodiment, the natural gas is injected at a specific location of a respective segment within the center section that is past the rotary distributor seals and directly under the bottom of the heat exchanger bed. According to the injection sequence, the injection of natural gas into the segment commences when the segment begins to receive inlet waste gas streams, and injection ceases before the flow through the sector changes or stops.

  • Patent number: 7833014
Abstract: A prophy device incorporating a shaft and one or more corrugated members which eliminate the need for plastic gears of the prior art is disclosed. The corrugated members effectively transfer rotational energy from a shaft to an applicator. In another version, a flexible paste chamber contains polish within a housing of the device. A difference between a rotational speed at a front of the paste chamber and rear of the paste chamber causes the flexible chamber to contract on itself thereby automatically forcing polish from the chamber and into a polish applicator. A user dictates the amount of polish dispensed by controlling the rotational speed at the front of the paste chamber by pressing the polish applicator against the teeth of a patient. As the speed differential increases, the amount of polish dispensed increases as well.

Abstract: In various embodiments of a method for filling root canal spaces, the root canal spaces are cleaned and irrigated, for example, by any suitable endodontic procedure, and the irrigating liquid is not removed from the canal spaces prior to filling. In some embodiments, a hydrophobic filler material is introduced into the root canal spaces while they are filled with liquid. As the canal spaces are filled, the hydrophobic filler material displaces the liquid and drives it out of the canal spaces, towards the crown of the tooth, where it can be removed. The hydrophobic filler material may comprise magnetically responsive particles having a hydrophobic surface coating that are compacted into the root canal spaces by application of a magnetic force field. In other embodiments, hydrophilic filler material in a flowable phase is introduced into the canal spaces where it partly displaces and partly absorbs the irrigating liquid before solidifying.

Abstract: An audio connector has a base having a center socket. A top of the base has a receiving groove at a side of the socket, and a fixing slot. The receiving groove has a first opening for intercommunicating with the socket. The fixing slot intercommunicates with the receiving groove through a second opening. A resilient switch contact has a resilient arm accommodated in the receiving groove. A free end of the resilient arm is bent to form an arch-like resting end with a slot extending from the beginning to a substantial middle thereof. A connecting piece corresponding to the slot and in alignment with the resilient arm is accordingly formed. A stationary switch contact has a resting arm extending into the receiving groove through the second opening, with a distal end facing the connecting piece for connecting with the connecting piece when the resting end is pressed.

Abstract: In an electrical contactor a first terminal (5) is connected to a pair of contacts (3, 4) on opposite faces of a fixed conductive member (2). A second terminal (6) is connected to a pair of movable arms (7, 8) of electrically conductive material carrying movable contacts (9, 10) at an end remote from the connection to the second terminal (6). The movable arms (7, 8) are arranged in aligned opposition to each other and such that their remote ends are on either side of the fixed member (2) with the movable contacts (9, 10) aligned with the fixed contacts (3, 4). The arrangement of the fixed member (2) and movable arms (7, 8) is such that when the contacts are closed current flowing through the movable arms produces a force that urges the movable arms towards each other thereby increasing the force between the fixed and movable contacts.
