Abstract: A uniform-type chef suit garment that appears to have physically separate jacket and pants but that includes an upper torso jacket and liner which is attached to the pants to optimize comfort by eliminating a fitted waist, while improving serviceability during cleaning of the garment. The garment includes various means that enable the wearer to don and remove the chef suit. In various embodiments, the pants are further adapted to be adjustable in length or to have a length limiting feature to prevent undesirable wear and soiling of the cuffs. In various preferred configurations, the jacket may preferably also incorporate a jacket taper adjustment feature as well as various implement holding elements that can be adapted to retain towels, gloves, cooking utensils, and other implements. In various alternative modifications, reversible breast lapels are incorporated into the garment to prolong clean and professional appearance and serviceability in operational food service environments.

The first garment element comprising a top end having a first neck opening, left and right lateral sides having left and right first arm openings respectively, a front side, a back side having an opening, and a bottom end. The second garment element comprising a top end having a second neck opening, left and right lateral sides having respective left and right second arm openings respectively, a front side having an opening, a back side, and a bottom end. When assembling the first and second garment elements on a human body, the first and second neck openings provide for the neck of the human body to be placed therethrough, the first garment element front side covers the front of the human body, the second garment element back side covers the back of the human body.

Abstract: A protective sports glove having a protective finger knuckle system introduced to the back portion of the finger portions to cover a space formed between adjacent pads corresponding to the knuckles of the fingers. The protective finger knuckle system includes a cap portion and a pair of side flanges that have a pair of slots. A strap is passed through the pair of slots on each of the pair of side flanges and beneath the cap portion and is secured to the glove. The cap portion spans the gaps between the protective portions of the fingers and the thumb and thus provide protection to the knuckles of the wearer where the fingers or thumb are flexed. Because the protective knuckle portion is not coupled to the pads defining the gap, they are maintained in position over the widening gap as the finger is flexed.

Abstract: Bandana Headwear, for all ages, is attractive, versatile, easily produced, having numerous uses and advantages. First, the flexible plastic headband, conforming comfortably to head, is removable for washing. Second, there are two ways to wear Bandana. Third, the optional, attached Visor may be worn three ways: extended outward, over top of Bandana, or tucked underneath. Fourth, Bandana and Visor are reversible when either has two fabric layers sewn together. Fifth, incorporating reversible Bandana with 3-way Visor allows twelve different looks. Sixth, larger Bandana with inner cap, completely covering head, was designed for those with total hair loss. This version, combining two end-tying methods and 3-way Visor, provides six different looks. Seventh, an attachable Visor, fastened with VELCRO, enables consumer to buy one Visor, wear with one or more of invention's Bandana styles without Visor or with any headwear with no Visor, unrelated to present invention.

The gripping/protective fabric has flared sections near the bottom, and slots for receiving and retaining spurs worn by the rider. Zippers are provided on the outer legs allowing quick removal of the lower body garment to improve comfort of the rider when not riding. An adjustable waistband is provided to allow the lower body garment to be adaptable to the differently sized individuals.

Abstract: A Comfort Seat and Commode Device that is adaptable for incorporation into a wheel chair, an ordinary arm chair or couch or bed, a hospital bed, or any other means of convalescence or permanent occupation by the disabled, is herein disclosed. The device's framework supports a seat portion that is capable of rotating to provide an opening through which a patient or disabled person may eliminate waste. The rotatable seat is located in-line vertically with a waste bin and cover that comprise the commode. An actuation means is provided, which, in response to a command by the user, simultaneously opens the waste bin cover, rotates the seat, and elevates the waste bin to permit use of the device. A means of providing squirting action of a cleaning solution to cleanse the user after elimination, as well as a drying system, may also be incorporated into the device.

Abstract: A hot tub or spa (100) has a vanishing or overflow edge (110) not readily visible to a user. Water from the main holding area (101) overflows the edge (110) into a catch basin (102). A reservoir (120) holds a constant head of water to provide to a pump (112) and also allows for the holding of increased amounts of water displaced by users who are using the hot tub (100). Water flowing over the vanishing edge (110) flows into the catch basin (102) and thence to the reservoir (120) and pump (112) where the water is recirculated into the spa (100).

Abstract: A conduit for communication of a pressurized water or fluid supply to a counter top appliance above a sink having a faucet providing water to the sink. The device features an elongated rod having an axial passageway for communication of a fluid when engaged through the drain rod aperture of a faucet. The rod has an exterior circumference sized to translate in the aperture and operate the drain closure apparatus on the sink. A pulsating dental cleaning appliance or water dispenser or knob are engageable to the top end of the rod which is adapted on a bottom end under the sink to engage with a pressurized fluid supply. The device may be provided for retrofit through existing faucets by replacing the drain rod, or with new faucets to provide a route for pressurized fluid above a counter top without having to drill holes in the counter top.

Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for sensing when a person is disposed on or arises from a support that flexes or sags when a person is disposed thereon. Such supports include beds, supports for a mattress or a seat, such as a sling-type seat found on wheelchairs. In one embodiment, an assembly is positioned beneath the support and includes a sensor. The sensor indicates when tension on the assembly exceeds a certain amount which is indicative of sagging of the support. The assembly may be adjustable in length to maintain proper tension in the absence of sag. The sensor may be a switch that includes a plunger which operates against the bias of a biasing member which either completes or interrupts an electrical circuit in response to tension placed on the assembly due to sagging of the support. In another embodiment, the assembly may be at least partially elastic. In yet another embodiment, a strain gauge may be employed to detect stretching of the assembly due to sagging of the support.

Abstract: A child enclosure apparatus that includes a hub assembly, a base assembly having four base legs in an X-shaped configuration, a side structure having four side posts, an upper assembly having four pairs of upper arms with each pair connected with medial latch connectors, lower corner assemblies, each having a pair of plates that are pivotally mounted to a side post and a pair of base legs, upper corner assemblies, each having two pair of plates that are configured at a right angle to each other, and cables extending from the base assemblies, through the side posts and being connected to the upper arms and to the latch connectors. The enclosure apparatus is operated by linear movement of the hub assembly, either by a motor assembly or manually, to cause simultaneous movement of the base legs, the upper arms and the latch connectors between opened and folded positions by tensioning the cables.

Abstract: A patient support apparatus, such as a bed, stretcher, or the like, includes a support deck having a plurality of pivotable sections adapted to support a patient thereon. A head section of the support deck generally supports a patient's torso and is movable between a generally horizontal orientation and a raised orientation. A CPR drop assembly allows the head section to be pivoted relatively quickly to the horizontal orientation in order to allow CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to be administered to the patient. The drop assembly may include a foot pedal having both a mechanical and electrical link to an actuator. The drop assembly may also be configured to operate in different manners depending upon the angular orientation of the head section at the time the drop assembly is initially activated.

Abstract: A surgical fixture includes a skull clamp having a pair of arms. Each of the arms includes a rail having a generally “T”-shaped or dovetail-shaped cross section. An accessory attachment assembly comprises a gripping portion having a pair of jaws that are operable to selectively grip a rail. The accessory attachment assembly also includes a body portion having a feature for receiving surgical accessories. Surgical accessories may be rotated relative to the accessory attachment assembly along a first plane, and may further be secured to the accessory attachment assembly. The body portion may be rotated relative to gripping portion along a second plane. A mechanism is operable to simultaneously effect gripping with the jaws while preventing rotation of the body portion relative to the gripping portion. The mechanism is also operable to simultaneously release gripping of the jaws while permitting rotation of the body portion relative to the gripping portion.

The disposable changing pad component includes a water impermeable layer and a fabric layer and at least one movement resistance aid to anchor the pad in place. The changing platform component includes a generally smooth region for receiving a baby and at least one changing pad retainer for holding the changing pad.

Abstract: A multi-purpose hand tool is provided which allows an individual to perform several tasks and reduces the need for additional tools. Specifically, the tool includes a hammer and a claw with an extension providing additional leverage to the claw for prying objects apart and for pulling nails. Additionally, the hand held tool provides a ring and catches useful for pulling fence wiring such as barbed wire during the installation of a fence.

Abstract: The present invention relates to dishwashers, and more particularly, to a dishwasher and a method for controlling the same, which can measure turbidity of the washing water, and control operation of the dishwasher with reference to the turbidity detected thus, to prevent wasting of water, and optimize a washing time period. The dishwasher includes a sump for holding washing water, a washing pump for pumping the washing water to provide a portion of the washing water to dishes to be washed through a main flow passage, and a turbidity sensing means for sensing turbidity of the washing water, wherein the turbidity sensing means is positioned at a sampling flow passage through which the other portion of the washing water passes.

A lifting floor device having a floor body lifted and lowered by a lifting drive device is placed above the vehicle body. The floor body has a cutout at the left side of the floor body, at the rear half thereof. The right side of the floor body is used as a passage for a physically handicapped person. A stairway device is provided between the floor body and the floor section as a passage for an able-bodied person, on the floor body side in the cutout, and the stairway device is pivotable in a vertical plane. A lifting table is placed behind the vehicle body, on the left side thereof so that the lifting table can face the rear end of the passage for a physically handicapped person.

A plurality of individual, linear slots extends from a top surface of the head section and terminates there within. The individual slots are angled to the long axis of the toothbrush body. A bristle assembly is movably positioned in each slot of the head section with a bristle group extending exterior to the top surface thereof. When brushing teeth, movement of the toothbrush body in a first direction, parallel with the long axis thereof, causes movement of the bristle assemblies in a direction essentially perpendicular to the long axis of the toothbrush body. Movement of the toothbrush body in the opposite direction causes movement of the bristle assemblies in an opposite direction, also essentially perpendicular to the long axis of the toothbrush body.

The cabinet end is pivotally coupled with a bracket mounted on the enclosure and the door end is fixedly coupled with a door of the enclosure. The hinge includes first, second, third, and fourth segments. The first segment extends linearly from the cabinet end of the hinge. The second segment extends from the first segment in a generally curved path wrapping around the cabinet end approximately 90 degrees. The third segment extends linearly from the second segment and at an angle relative to the first segment. The fourth segment extends linearly from the third segment to the door end of the hinge and is perpendicular to the first segment. The internal hinge of the present invention allows the door of the enclosure to open approximately 147 degrees.

Abstract: The motorcycle battery carrying apparatus provides for the unique demands of handling, installing, and removing motorcycle batteries and batteries in other personally-sized vehicles which are equipped with motorcycle type batteries. The apparatus handles such batteries without extending beyond the dimensions of existing batteries, excepting above. Provided in both rigid and pliable handle embodiments, the apparatus attaches to the same terminals as do the battery cables of the vehicle. By attaching to the terminals of the battery without extending beyond the width or depth of the battery, the apparatus is assured of fitting the battery within existing tolerances. Dependant upon the given application and desire, the apparatus can remain on the battery or be removed and used repeatedly.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a casing, a panel and at least one panel-fixing device. The panel-fixing device, which includes a receiving portion and a clipping portion, fixes the panel at the casing. The receiving portion disposed on the casing includes a plurality of positioning components. The clipping portion, which includes a hooking component, an adjusting component and a fixing plane, is movably engaged with the receiving portion. When the clipping portion is engaged with the receiving portion, the hooking component catches one of the positioning components for fixing the clipping portion. The adjusting component and the hooking portion are substantially parallel to each other. The fixing plane is substantially vertically connected to the adjusting component. When the clipping portion is engaged with the receiving portion, the fixing plane presses against the panel for fixing the panel to the casing.

Abstract: A microfabricated bulk wave acoustic bandgap device comprises a periodic two-dimensional array of scatterers embedded within the matrix material membrane, wherein the scatterer material has a density and/or elastic constant that is different than the matrix material and wherein the periodicity of the array causes destructive interference of the acoustic wave within an acoustic bandgap. The membrane can be suspended above a substrate by an air or vacuum gap to provide acoustic isolation from the substrate. The device can be fabricated using microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) technologies. Such microfabricated bulk wave phononic bandgap devices are useful for acoustic isolation in the ultrasonic, VHF, or UHF regime (i.e., frequencies of order 1 MHz to 10 GHz and higher, and lattice constants of order 100 ?m or less).

Abstract: A capacitor capable of being incorporated into a packaging substrate, which capacitor includes a high-dielectric-constant layer, and an upper electrode layer and a lower electrode layer sandwiching the high-dielectric-constant layer from the upper side and the lower side. A packaging substrate containing the capacitor, and a method for producing the same are also provided.

Abstract: A disconnect tool for disconnecting a tubing end from a fitting. The disconnect tool comprises a first member having a first front portion, a first rear portion, a first middle portion and a first channel disposed through the first front portion, the first rear portion and the first middle portion. The disconnect tool further comprises a second member having a second front portion, a second rear portion, a second middle portion and a second channel disposed through the second front portion, the second rear portion and the second middle portion. The second channel aligns with the first channel wherein second middle portion contacts an outer collet surface of the collet such that the second middle portion forces the outer collet surface against a forward end of the fitting to axially drive the collet inwardly against the fitting in order to release the tubing end from the collet.
