Patent number: 7850401Abstract: A method of applying polyacrylamide (PAM) for stabilizing soil particles of a land area from movement about the land area. The slope of the surface of the soil is measured, and a tentative application rate is determined based upon the slope of the land area. The stability of the soil of the land area is determined by placing a sample of the soil in a tray and pouring a liquid over the sample and evaluating the erosion potential of the soil by measuring any movement of the soil in the liquid. The liquid may be water or a mixture of water and PAM. The application rate may be increased above the tentative application rate if the soil sample showed a relatively higher vulnerability to erosion. An application rate is calculated for applying a mixture of PAM and water to the land area. The mixture is misted onto the surface of the land area in one or more mixture applications. An application of the mixture is continued until the top surface of the soil of the land area becomes saturated.Type: GrantFiled: January 18, 2000Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Inventor: Tracy E. Patent number: 7850405Abstract: The present invention relates to an improved hole saw boss (10) and in particular, to a boss including a threaded member (12) adapted to accommodate two hole saws of the same or different bore thread diameters. The present invention allows for a pre-existing aperture (22) in a work piece to be simply enlarged. This is useful if a new lock mechanism is being installed in a door with a pre-existing aperture where the lock mechanism requires a larger aperture than that which was in existence. Currently the aperture has to be enlarged by manual handwork since there is no centre-point to which a pilot drill may be enlarged. The threaded bore diameters of the present invention correspond with the commonly available hole saw threaded bore diameters. The present invention therefore provides the public with device for enlarging apertures which is simply, cost effective and can be used with currently available hole saws.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 2004Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Inventor: Kym John Keightley

Patent number: 7850431Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are related to a pumping system that accurately dispenses fluid using a multiple stage (“multi-stage”) pump. More particularly, embodiments of the present invention provide for control of a feed stage pump to regulate fluid pressure at a downstream dispense stage pump. According to one embodiment of the present invention, a pressure sensor at the dispense stage pump determines the pressure in a dispense chamber. When the pressure reaches a predefined threshold, the dispense stage pump can begin to increase the available volume of the dispense chamber, thereby causing the pressure in the dispense chamber to drop. As the pressure decreases/increases at the downstream pump, the pressure applied by the upstream pump can bed increased/decreased.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 2005Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: Entegris, Inc.Inventors: George Gonnella, James Cedrone

Patent number: 7850433Abstract: Circulation systems for ponds, lakes, or other bodies of water. In one set of embodiments, water is drawn up from the depths of the body for exposure to the atmosphere and to generate an overall, high flow circulation pattern throughout the entire body. In other embodiments, the circulation in the body of water is primarily limited to an upper aerobic zone with only small and controlled volumes from a lower anaerobic zone being brought up. Each system preferably includes a flotation platform, dish, impeller, and draft tube with specific modifications to the various systems to adapt them for use in a variety of environments.Type: GrantFiled: November 28, 2007Date of Patent: December 14, 2010Assignee: Medora Environmental, Inc.Inventors: Willard R.
