  • Patent number: 7856676
Abstract: A capsule-type medical device collector has a cylindrical net member (61a) whose mesh size is formed so as to be able to collect a capsule endoscope (3), slits 61d and (61d), an INSULOCK binder (61e), and handle members 61f and (61f). By binding the other end of the cylindrical net member (61a) with the INSULOCK binder (61e) to form the cylindrical net member (61a) in a bag shape and sandwiching ear members (61a1) and (61a1) of the cylindrical net member (61a) between a toilet stool (7) and a toilet seat (71), the cylindrical net member (61a) is fixed on the toilet stool (7). After excretion, the cylindrical net member (61a) is taken out and only a capsule endoscope (3) is collected. In such a manner, a capsule-type medical device discharged from a subject to the outside is easily collected.

  • Patent number: 7856682
Abstract: A patient transfer device has four casters and two counter-rotating steering wheels. The steering wheels provide a turning path whose center of curvature lies along a transverse centerline of the device. A foot pedal selectively lifts the steering wheels off the floor or brakes them. Another foot pedal at a back end of the device can lock the casters at the front end in a straight direction. The transfer table of the device may be inclined either longitudinally or transversely, and has an upper table whose edge rollers retract to introduce slack in the upper belt so that an air mattress can be inflated. The upper belt selectively disengages from the lower belt using movable, pneumatically-actuated pinch rollers. The outer surface of the upper belt is rough while the outer surface of the lower belt is smooth. The belts are constructed of a material which includes an antimicrobial agent.

  • Patent number: 7856696
Abstract: A moveable boom hinge apparatus is provided. The moveable boom hinge apparatus provides a mechanism offsetting the tip portion of a boom hinge from the base portion of a boom hinge when the tip and base portions are folded parallel to each other and securely position the tip portion of the boom when extended. Additionally, this moveable boom hinge apparatus provides a uniquely u-shaped link element and complementary u-shaped catch element that couple together in a way that sufficiently locks the tip portion into place with respect to the base portion and keeps structural loads of a boom hinge aligned with structural members of a boom hinge during its boom hinge's transition from the operational position to the non-operational position. Abstract: A monitoring device monitors an apparatus that clinches together sheet metal panels. In particular, a die assembly positioned on one side of the panels has a button forming die cavity defined by an anvil at the bottom of the die cavity and a plurality of radially moveably die blades at the side of the cavity. A plunger is positioned on the other side of the panels and registers with the die assembly so that linear displacement of the plunger plastically deforms the panels axially into the die assembly to engage with the anvil and then further linear displacement of the plunger will then deform the panels radially outward as permitted by the outward radial movement of the moveable die blades. Transducers measure the linear displacement of the plunger, the radial outward displacement of the radially moveable die blades, and the magnitude of the axial force applied against the anvil.

  • Patent number: 7856711
Abstract: A method of forming structure. A substrate and an interposer are provided. The substrate includes a heat source and N continuous substrate channels on a first side of the substrate (N?2). N interposer channels are coupled to the N substrate channels so as to form M continuous loops (1?M?N). Each loop independently consists of K substrate channels and K interposer channels in an alternating sequence. For each loop, K is at least 1 and is subject to an upper limit consistent with a constraint of the M loops collectively consisting of the N interposer channels and the N substrate channels. Each loop is independently open ended or closed. The first side of the substrate is connected to the interposer. The interposer is adapted to be thermally coupled to a heat sink such that the interposer is interposed between the substrate and the heat sink.

  • Patent number: 7856712
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a female electrical terminal includes, according to one embodiment, blanking of strip of conductive material and forming a wire connecting portion to receive an electrical wire. The blank may include a contact arm extending into an area adjacent the wire connecting portion. The contact arm extends into this area from a terminal connecting portion at a predetermined angle. The contact arm may be straightened and folded prior to bending the terminal connecting portion into a tubular member for receiving the tab of a male terminal. The step of straightening the contact arm can be performed using a special coining process that applies pressure to the conductive material around the shoulder causing the conductive material to flow within a confined area allowing the contact arm to be straightened.

Abstract: A typical dynamic bearing design comprises a ring shaped or circular thrust plate mounted at or near the end of a shaft, the shaft defining together with a surrounding sleeve a journal bearing by providing grooves on only one of the two surfaces facing the gap between the shaft and sleeve. On the ring shaped thrust plate supported by the shaft, the traditional upward thrust bearing defined between the lower face of the thrust plate and the facing surface of the sleeve is maintained; but no grooves are on the surface of the thrust plate distant from the shaft and a facing counterplate surface. Further, the journal bearing is defined to have an asymmetry so that a bias force pressure along the surface of the shaft toward the thrust plate is established.
