Abstract: A leg guard for a baseball catcher includes asymmetrical knee and shin portions. The knee and shin portions include a rigid plate attached to pad. The knee portion has medial extensions of both the plate and pad to provide additional protection to the medial side of the knee when the catcher is in the crouch position. Similarly, the rigid plate of the shin portion also has a generally rectangular shape, with the medial side longer than the lateral side for additional protection of the medial side of the leg. The knee portion is generally curved. This shape stabilizes and protects the knee in transitioning from the crouch position to the blocking position and from the blocking position back to the crouch position or to an upright throwing stance.

Abstract: A support surface includes a plurality of air cylinders disposed crosswise and aligned to define the support surface. The air cylinders include a first foam therein. Adjacent cylinders are provided with varying support characteristics to define multiple support zones along a length of the support surface. At least some of the plurality of air cylinders additionally include an integrated bolster at ends thereof that is formed of a second foam, firmer than the first foam.

Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to systems related to sleeping, playing and provision of non-toxic environments, components related to those systems, and methods involving the systems or components. It is more particularly directed to systems, components and methods that aid early infant cognitive development, improve ventilation inside a crib, promote fresh and/or odor free air, promote thermoregulation and homeostasis, protect the person using the systems, components and methods from biological toxins, and create healthy sleeping environments for infants, toddlers, children and adults. One sleep system according to the present invention includes a cover, a core, and a bottom. The cover includes at least two raised areas. The raised areas have one or more heights ranging from 0.125 inch to 5.0 inches and diameters ranging of 0.25 to 10.0 inches.

Abstract: In a washing machine according to the present invention, if a washing step is ended, a distribution step that the inner tub containing the washing water is rotated in one direction and fabrics is distributed to a side wall of the inner tub and the washing water is discharged to outside is performed. Because a fabric is evenly distributed in the distribution step, a dehydration step can be performed without carrying out a separate procedure for avoiding unbalance. Therefore, energy such as washing time and power used during the operation of the washing machine and amount of water used can be saved. Also, since a washing machine according to the present invention rotates the inner tub not only during the distribution step but also during the hydration step afterwards, operation of a clutch used to selectively rotate the pulsator and the inner tub at the time of entering to the dehydration step from the distribution step is not required.

Abstract: Control method of a laundry treatment machine according to the present invention comprises a spray rinse step that water is sprayed a little at a time several times, and a spin rinse step that the water is not sprayed and an inner tub is rapidly rotated for water penetration. Thus, by performing the spin rinse step which is not to spray total water at once but to spray a little water at a time and the inner tub is rapidly rotated while the water is sprayed, fabrics can be effectively soaked and the water penetration can be improved, and thus rinsing performances can be improved. Also, a motor is rotated at low speed while water is sprayed, so that it can be prevented that water sprayed spattered. Also, the water spray is temporarily stopped and the inner tub is rotated at high speed during the spin rinse step, and thus an effect of water penetration can be improved by centrifugal force.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the dyeing of keratin materials using two colorless dye precursors, at least one of which contains a disulfide/thiol unit, said precursors reacting together chemically to form the color in situ. The process according to the invention makes it possible in the context of certain variants to solve the problems caused by the color generated during the process, while at the same time not degrading the efficacy of the coloration, and especially of the lightening effect. The colorations obtained are moreover powerful, chromatic, sparingly selective, and fast with respect to external agents such as sunlight, perspiration and especially shampoo.
