The absorbing layer is configured to absorb at least a portion of a radio-frequency (RF) electromagnetic pulse. This RF electromagnetic pulse may originate from an explosion event, such as detonation of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED).

Abstract: The invention provides up to Category 4 protection against arc radiation, the invented system comprising a protective hood defining a view-panel which confers Category 2 arc flash protection and a region of the hood adapted to encapsulate a Category 2 arc flash protection hard hat or helmet such that the act of encapsulation confers the Category 4 level of protection.

Abstract: A retaining strap encircles the leg of the skier and keeps the tibia in contact with a support surface in the form of a padded cast, which is fixed to a deformable component in the form of a leaf spring. The latter bears on the top of the boot, constituting a flexible connection to the front and a rigid connection to the sides. A cord allows the spring to be pretensioned towards the front. Straps tightened by securing buckles allow the deformable component to be kept fixed to the boot. By means of the invention, the cross-country skier is able to use walking boots ideal for climbing, while at the same time being able to ski downhill supported by the tibias.

Abstract: A sleeping garment for toddlers that adjusts via a hook and loop connection at one flap per each of the feet to accommodate for the child's growth to extend the usability of the garment for that child as well as to preserve it for subsequent children as a “hand-me-down.” The hook portions are flaps of fabric located at the bottom of the toes and the hook is folded upward to the loops located at the top of the feet to adjust to the rapidly growing size of the child's feet. There are five claims submitted with seven drawings.

Abstract: A protective garment including an outer shell and a harness assembly configured to be generally positioned between the outer shell and a wearer of the garment when the garment is worn. The harness assembly includes a wrap-around portion and a shoulder portion configured to fit about the shoulders of a wearer. Abstract: A detachable solar thermal coat assembly with carbon nanocapsule composite material includes an outer jacket, an inner lining and a conducting wire. The outer jacket has therein a power input device that provides electric power to a carbon nanocapsule fiber composite layer of the inner lining through the conducting wire so that the carbon nanocapsule fiber composite layer is powered to give out heat and warm a user wearing the solar thermal coat assembly.

Abstract: Disclosed is an improved medical or surgical glove. The glove may be constructed from any of a selection of resiliently flexible materials. The glove is of the type having four finger enclosures and four fingertips, a thumb enclosure and thumbtip, a hand portion with a palm surface and a backhand surface, and a wrist portion having an opening through which a user's hand is inserted. The disclosed glove features a variety of patterns of raised and/or textured sections on the exterior surface of the glove to provide enhanced gripping capability to a wearer. The medical or surgical glove may also be sterilized and may be color-coded to identify the specific material of which a glove is fabricated.

Abstract: This invention provides a novel glove for both left and right hands presenting properties for a unique design apparatus related to the orthopedic field. A glove, in particular for helping the hand avoid doing involuntary folding of fingers, griping or tightening of the hand into a fist position due to possible health ailments or physical disorders. This is accomplish by placing on the palm side of the glove four external supportive ribs made out of flat aluminum filaments that extend from the base of the palm to the top of the fingers. By four fingers it is meant the index, the middle, the ring and the little fingers.

The interior shell includes a first portion and a second portion hingedly secured to the first portion. The second portion is operable to move between a first position and a second position in response to movement by the user. In addition, a guard can be positioned on the outer surface of the pocket to prevent objects outside of the pocket from protruding into the receiving zone.

Abstract: An electronic transducer comprises a knitted structure extendible in two dimensions defined by its courses and wales. An electro-conductive yarn (4) defines at least one single course in the structure adjacent non-conductive yarns (2), and is to be part of a circuit providing an indication of an electrical characteristic of the yarn. When unextended in either direction, successive loops of the stitches including the electro-conductive yarn are in engagement. Extension of the structure in the course direction separate loops forming the stitches, and extension in the wale direction urges the loops together. The structure can be used in methods of registering extension of the structure in either or both of the course and wale directions.

Abstract: Methods and systems for building a stress ribbon structure over an opening via incremental launching, a construction fixture, a support structure, an anchorage panel, and a stress ribbon structure are disclosed. Construction fixtures are constructed adjacent to a support structure. The stress ribbon structure is constructed in a staging area and in sections that are suspended between the construction fixtures. Anchorage panels at each end of a section engage a blister on the construction fixtures and the support structure. Completed sections are launched from the construction fixtures onto and along the support structure. Sections are individually constructed and launched and adjacent sections abut along a lateral edge. Adjacent sections are aligned by adjusting tension in integral support cables and their ends pivot or rotate about the blisters via a bearing system with both rotational flexibility and low friction to support sliding in the direction of launching.

The club brush may be attached to the inner sole rim or outer sole rim of the golf shoe. In another exemplary embodiment, a clip may be used to attach the brush to the golf shoe. The large tufts are contoured so that the top ends of the bristles comprising the large tufts are not all at the same height. More than one raised section is provided, the raised sections being spatially isolated from one another to function independently of one another.
