Patent number: 7896359Abstract: The invention relates to a method of producing a divided tube stabilizer having a swivel motor (2) mutually coupling two tube stabilizer halves (3, 4), a first tube stabilizer half (3) being non-rotatably connected with a first connection part (5) of the swivel motor, and a second stabilizer half (4) being non-rotatably connected with a second connection part (6) of the swivel motor (2). In order to achieve that the tube stabilizer halves can be easily linked in a non-rotatable manner with the connection parts of the swivel motor, the following process steps are suggested: a. The tube ends to be connected with the connection parts (5, 6) of the swivel motor (2) are expanded and upset in one working step by means of a mandrel (20); b. the tube stabilizer halves (3, 4) with the expanded and upset ends are shaped to their final shape by bending; c. the finished bent tube stabilizer halves (3, 4) are subjected to a heat treatment; d.Type: GrantFiled: November 4, 2005Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: ThyssenKrupp Technologies AGInventors: Hans Dziemballa, Lutz Manke, Frank Schneider

Patent number: 7896360Abstract: A vehicle stabilizer system including: (a) a stabilizer bar (28) including (a-1) a torsion bar portion (90), and (a-2) an arm portion (92) that extends from the torsion bar portion in a direction not parallel to the torsion bar portion; (b) an actuator (32) configured to rotate the stabilizer bar about an axis of the torsion bar portion; and (c) a link rod (34) interconnecting the suspension arm (78) and one of opposite ends of the arm portion that is remote from the torsion bar portion. The stabilizer bar generates a stabilizing force which is dependent on a reaction that is generated as a result of torsion of the torsion bar portion, and which forces the wheel (12) and the body in a selected one of a direction toward each other and a direction away from each other. The actuator allows the stabilizer bar to generate the stabilizing force whose magnitude is changeable by operation of the actuator.Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2007Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Toyota Jidosha Kabushiki KaishaInventor: Shuuichi Buma

Patent number: 7896361Abstract: The present invention provides a passive vehicle suspension system providing optimal camber gain and avoiding the “bump camber” problem. This vehicle suspension system utilizes a conventional sway bar and a kinematic system to rotate the tire(s) of a vehicle in a direction opposite the roll of the vehicle during turning or cornering, for example. The kinematic design allows for adjustability and optimization, providing optimal camber gain. Although an automotive vehicle suspension system is illustrated and described, and, specifically, a racing or everyday automotive vehicle suspension system, the concepts of the present invention are capable of much broader applicability.Type: GrantFiled: October 19, 2007Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: University of North Carolina at CharlotteInventors: James Franklin Cuttino, John Stewart Shepherd

Patent number: 7896365Abstract: A two-piece snowboard includes an improved bottom shape and connector. The bottom surface of each snowboard section facilitates three primary functions: riding in a straight line, turning, and stopping. The bottom surfaces are concave or substantially flat, and grooves or ribs are provided along bottom edges of the sections to provide for turning and/or braking. Thus placed, the grooves and/or ribs do not interfere with straight line riding. The connector is somewhat stiff, and resists twisting. An example of a suitable connector is a length of reinforced hydraulic hose. The connector allows both vertical and horizontal flexing to facilitate riding over irregular terrain, while resisting twisting between sections to facilitate control.Type: GrantFiled: December 9, 2005Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Trakboard, CorporationInventor: Shane Smith

Patent number: 7896402Abstract: The present invention relates to spacers and pipelines. The spacers are mounted between two pipes—an internal line and an external line—and hold them at a defined distance. A closure is necessary for fixing the spacer on the pipes. Space, weight, and mounting time may advantageously be saved by integrating the closure into the spacer.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2006Date of Patent: March 1, 2011Assignee: Airbus Deutschland GmbHInventors: Joachim Deharde, Ralf Becks
