  • Patent number: 7950464
Abstract: An improved multi-well control system (MWCS) has a centrally based multi-well controller (MWC) in communication with one or more slave controllers and one or more electronic flow measurement devices (EFMs) for instant data monitoring and control of individual wells. The system also provides for an application host sub-system (AHSS) in communication with the MWC for historical and instant data retention. The system is capable of assigning one or more wells to a group for allocation purposes and organizing groups dependent on production levels of individual wells. The MWC is capable of tracking gas volumes produced by each well independent of groupings and communicating such data to the AHSS. The MWC provides monitoring and tracking data from one or more EFM devices and assigns total flow volume to individual wells. The entire MWCS can result in the reduction of manpower and an increase in overall production efficiency.

  • Patent number: 7950479
Abstract: Here is invented an efficient road vehicles having special aerodynamic shapes, with stabilizing devices that enable aerodynamic efficiency. It is an articulated vehicle that is tall and narrow. It includes a carriage part that encloses a driver and passenger riding in tandem. This car is only wide enough for persons seated in single file, so it has very low projected frontal area compared with typical cars. Further, the narrow width makes a body shaped like an airship practical, where that shape is characterized by a very low drag coefficient in free flow conditions. The carriage is elevated on struts to enable such free flow aerodynamic conditions, thus the drag coefficient of the airship is made applicable to this road vehicle. Because this car has both low frontal area and low drag coefficient it will require minimal energy for high speed operation.

  • Patent number: 7950485
Abstract: The control device for the hybrid vehicle is mounted on the hybrid vehicle including the engine and the motor generator as the driving source and capable of switching at least two modes, i.e., the infinite variable speed mode and the fixed gear ratio mode. When the speed change is performed from the infinite variable speed mode to the fixed gear ratio mode, the first speed change control to maintain the number of revolutions equal to or larger than the number of engine revolutions at the time of setting the infinite variable speed mode and reduce the engine torque to shift the speed gear in the fixed gear ratio mode is executed. Thereby, when the speed change is performed from the infinite variable speed mode to the fixed gear ratio mode, it becomes possible to appropriately suppress the drivability deterioration caused due to the change of the number of engine revolutions.

  • Patent number: 7950500
Abstract: A disc brake, in particular, for a commercial vehicle, has a brake caliper which engages over a brake disc, brake linings which make contact with the brake disc in a functional position, and a brake application device with which one of the brake linings can be pressed, via at least one adjusting spindle, against the brake disc. An adjustment device is rotationally fixed to the adjusting spindle, by which wear-induced change in the running clearance between the brake lining and the brake disc can essentially be compensated. A closure lid covers the adjustment device and is attached to the brake caliper. A lining wear sensor communicates with a step-down gear mechanism connected to the adjusting spindle. The lining wear sensor is embodied as a contactless sensor which rotates on a concentric path has its change in angular position detected by the lining wear sensor and transmitted to an evaluation device.

Abstract: An electric disk brake that can be operated and inspected before being assembled and that can be assembled easily. A piston, a ball ramp mechanism, a differential reduction mechanism, and a pad wear compensation mechanism are integrated to form a piston unit. A motor, a resolver, and a drive controller are integrated to form a motor/controller unit. The piston unit is inserted into a cylinder of a caliper body, and the motor/controller unit is mounted on the caliper body to assemble an electric caliper. Before being incorporated into the electric caliper, the motor/controller unit can be operated and easily inspected for any defect by applying an electric current to the motor/controller unit.

Abstract: A disk brake has a flange portion formed on the outer periphery of a portion of a caliper body main body where an opening is formed. The opening is used for insertion of a cutting tool for machining of a cylinder bore. The outer diameter of the flange portion is larger than that of a general surface of the outer peripheral wall of the bore formed in the caliper body main body. A lid member is secured to the opening by friction stir welding. The flange portion ensures a sufficient welding margin. The overall weight of the disk brake is reduced by minimizing the wall thickness of the general surface of the outer peripheral wall of the bore.

  • Patent number: 7950505
Abstract: A mechanically ventilated disc brake rotor has internally housed centrifugal fan impeller rotates freely at one direction and engages with brake rotor in other direction with use of single direction ball bearing. While a vehicle travelling forward, centrifugal fan impeller rotates along with brake rotor at same speed and forces airflow out through the fixed vanes passages by centrifugal action and at the same time it gains angular momentum energy. Whenever brake's applied to slow down a forward moving vehicle, the rotation of brake rotor slows down. At this instant, single direction bearing gets disengaged from the brake rotor and continue rotating freely at same initial rotational speed with help of angular momentum effect. Continues rotation of centrifugal fan impeller, continue in forcing out air flow thru fixed vanes channels by centrifugal action providing enhanced and continues heat dissipation even though brake rotor rotation speed has slowed down or stopped.

  • Patent number: 7950508
Abstract: The present invention relates to a piston valve assembly which is used in a continuous damping control damper using magneto-rheological fluid. The piston valve assembly is coupled with an end of the piston rod, and a stopper having a flat upper surface which is surface-contacted with an upper plate is disposed between a core assembly and the upper plate, thereby properly dispersing a force applied to the piston rod. According to the present invention, the reliability and stability in the coupling between the piston rod and the piston valve assembly can be increased, thereby stably controlling the damping force of the damper. Further, the slot is formed in the core of the piston valve assembly so as to reduce the damping force in the lower speed range, thereby considerably improving the driving comport of a vehicle.
