Abstract: Ballistic material side elements are shaped to cover portions of a wearer's face and selectively attached to a ballistic helmet. The side elements cover the sides of the wearer's head, but leave room to avoid interfering with hearing needs and goggles. These side elements are held in place by connecting them to the existing helmet shell with an encircling strap and band, or to the straps and hardware of the helmet retention system by receiving portions of the straps through loops on the interior of the side elements. A front ballistic member may join the side elements to cover a significant portion of the wearer's face. The ballistic material is formed of a plurality of layers with a resin and joined by the application of pressure. Higher pressure in the forming of the side elements produces stiff members which stay in place when attached to the helmet.

Abstract: Bulletproof protector is capable of protecting the neck of a person securely from a bullet or the like. Bulletproof protector 1 includes: a cylindrical neck protector 2 made of a bulletproof material and protecting the neck of a person; and a sheet under-the-neck protector 3 made of a bulletproof material, having an attachment hole 3a for inserting the neck protector 2, and protecting a region immediately under the neck of the person. A bulletproof plate 7 covers the neck protector 2 inserted in the attachment hole 3a and the under-the-neck protector to thereby cover a connection part K of the neck protector 2 and the under-the-neck protector 3, thereby preventing a bullet M from penetrating the connection part K.

Abstract: Disclosed is a unitary face shield for a sports helmet. The shield includes a first portion which is comprised of a transparent polymeric material and a second portion comprised of a structural polymeric material. The second portion has a plurality of openings defined therethrough, and the first and second portions are fusion bonded together in an edge-to-edge relationship so as to produce a unitary body. The face shield may include still further portions and these may be structural or transparent portions. The transparent portions are fabricated from a high-impact material such as polycarbonate or impact-modified acrylic, and the structural portions are fabricated from high strength structural polymers such as nylon, polypropylene, polycarbonate, ASA, and various combinations. The structural polymer may include reinforcing materials. Also disclosed are methods for manufacturing the shield by composite molding processes.

Abstract: A temperature resistant and fluid impermeable protective glove having front and back panels joined by at least one seam. During manufacture, the glove is dipped into a first thin liquid to coat the exterior surface of the glove. The first liquid penetrates through gaps in the seam and seals those gaps as it solidifies. The first liquid coated glove is then dipped into a second thicker liquid to coat the entire exterior surface including the sealed seam. A third coating may be applied to the interior surface of the glove prior to joining the front and back panels together. The glove may also include an interior liner and an exterior protective member for added comfort and protection.

Abstract: A woman's swimsuit that combines the coverage of a rash guard with the functionality of a swimsuit. The top has a shoulder piece extending from the top of the shoulder and down the arm a short distance, a back piece extending from the base of the neck to below the waist, a bust section extending from below the collar bones to below the bust, and a front midriff section extending from below the bust to below the waist. The bottom consists of a skirt which has shorts underneath and has stitching at the side seams to connect the skirt to shorts vertically and inhibits said skirt from floating up when in water.

A first pocket may be sewn onto the garment at an esthetical desirable location on the garment. A second pocket may be configured to hold the device and may be positioned on the garment to be occluded from view behind the first pocket. An access port through the garment may be positioned on the garment to be occluded from view behind the first pocket and may be configured to permit passage of a connector from the device to a user of the device.

In some embodiments, the device invention comprises a base plate that includes an interior face, an exterior face, and a channel extending through the interior and exterior faces. The device further comprises a locking disk that includes a securing post extending substantially perpendicularly therefrom. The securing post is dimensioned to pass through the channel of the base plate. The device further includes a display element having an outer face and an inner face. A rotation selection post extending substantially perpendicularly from the inner face and has an outer surface including a series of facing surfaces and an inner channel dimensioned to accept and engage the securing post. The device further comprises a rotation selection plate. The display device is substantially rotationally immobilized when the securing post is engaged with the inner channel of the rotation selection post.

Abstract: A system for creating and ordering a novel personal inspirational message storage and display article, selectively displaying or sharing the message, and networking with others about stored and shared inspirational messages is disclosed. The system includes an online subsystem to select, order and pay for a message storage article and to select or create a personal inspirational message for the article. Also included is an article manufacturing subsystem to transfer the selected message to a selected area of the article on the inner side of a flexible material of which the article is made.

Abstract: A shirt with a raisable bottom portion is described. The shirt has an upper portion for positioning about the torso of a wearer and a bottom portion residing below the upper portion. The shirt includes a plurality of substantially aligned buttons that expand vertically along the upper portion. The shirt also includes a first set of substantially aligned button holes that expand vertically along the upper portion. The button holes are formed to affix with the buttons to allow a wearer to close the garment around the torso of the wearer. To raise the bottom portion, the shirt includes at second set of button holes formed around the bottom periphery of the shirt. Thus, a wearer can affix one of the button holes from the periphery with one of the buttons to elevate the bottom portion of the shirt while using a toilet.

Abstract: A collar stay capable of being retrofitted to any collared shirt in order to maintain a flat and wrinkle-free corner of the collar. The present collar stay can be comprised of rigid, planar material such as craft felt or plastic. This rigid, planar material can comprise an adhesive layer on one side, which can be used to connect the collar stay to the collar. The present collar stays are typically connected to the underside of the collar, however, in an alternative embodiment, the collar stays can have ornamentation printed on one side and can be worn on the upper side of the collar so as to better display the ornamentation.

Abstract: A hairnet suitable for retaining a person's hair in a desired position while providing comfort to the person when wearing a tight-fitting helmet or other headgear that comes into contact with the hairnet. The hairnet may include a net portion with a band connected along one edge of the net portion. The ends of the band then may be brought together, along with portions of the net portion, to a cinch point and bound with a cinch structure. The resulting cinch point may be advantageously worn at the nape of the neck, thus avoiding pressure points on other parts of the person's head. Methods of constructing the hairnet and using the hairnet with a helmet are also disclosed. Embodiments of the present hairnet may be made with materials used in the construction of conventional hairnets because of their familiarity, breathability, and generally disposable nature.

The frame 12 has a front part and a rear part. The front part carries a piece of optical equipment 104 and the rear part carries a lighting arrangement 68 or power source. The weight of the lighting arrangement 68 or power source at least partially counterbalances the weight of the optical equipment 104 or vice versa.

Abstract: Helmet mounts for mounting an associated viewing device on a helmet, includes a first pivoting segment for attachment to the helmet and a second pivoting segment for attachment to the associated viewing device. The second pivoting segment is pivotable relative to the first pivoting segment for selectively supporting the associated viewing device in a first, operational position before the eyes of a user donning the helmet and a second, stowed position above a line of sight of a viewer donning the helmet. In one aspect, the first pivoting segment includes a vertical adjust mechanism having a base plate, a pair of guide rails attached to the base plate and defining a channel therebetween, a sliding plate slidably attached to the guide rails, and a clamping mechanism for selectively applying a clamping force to secure the sliding plate at a desired position relative to the base plate.

Abstract: A protective eyewear system suitable for use during athletic competitions includes a hybrid frame that features an elastomerically flexible portion and rigid portions and a pair of lenses independently supported within the rigid portions. The lenses are generally concave to the eyes, but the rigid portions that support and surround the lenses are generally convex to the eyes. The rigid portions also include armatures that confine interaction between the rigid portions and the eye sockets to certain specific areas that are more likely to be able to withstand impact. The flexible portion provides padding and comfort. Various ventilation measures prevent fogging of the lenses and sweat retention.

Abstract: A goggle useful in sports and activities that is configured and dimensioned to have the top of the lens be spaced away from the forehead to prevent fogging within the goggle by trapping heat. The goggle may also be configured to rest upon the outside front portion of either a pre-existing or aesthetically matching helmet when spaced away from the forehead. A plurality of vents in either the seals or the lens may also further prevent fogging when used in conjunction with preventing the top seal from resting upon the forehead.

(510° C.) or greater, hot molten aluminum heated to a temperature of about 1150° F. (620° C.) or greater, burning phosphorus at temperature of about 1550° F. (843° C.) or greater, hot solid iron having a temperature of about 500° F. (260° C.) or greater, hot heating oil having a temperature of about 500° F. (260° C.) or greater, and hot hydrochloric acid having a temperature of about 300° F. (150° C.) or greater. The ability to protect a wearer from heat from hot high heat capacity materials and/or hot corrosive materials is quite different from simply shedding liquids, even flammable liquids, such as gasoline is unexpected.

Abstract: A portable back scrubbing and massaging device is provided that can be used in and out of the shower for effectively cleaning and massaging a back of an individual. The portable device has brushes that can be removed and replaced with other brushes or massage accessories. This permits an individual to select from a wide variety of brushes and massage accessories that have varying amounts of thickness, softness, firmness and/or length. The brushes can also be reconfigured into different arrangements or patterns that allows a person to get a cleaning or massage that matches the contours of that person's back.

Abstract: A hanging shower curtain support for a bathtub/shower within a bathroom having a ceiling, walls and floor, includes a plurality of hooks that are secured into the ceiling above the bathtub/shower. A plurality of chains is provided, with each chain having a bottom retainer ring hanging downwardly from each hook. A shower curtain rod is suspended from the bottom retainer rings of the chains. The shower curtain rod will hold a shower curtain therefrom, to prevent water from splashing onto the walls and the floor of the bathroom.

The sink can have a drainage section located near a back side of the sink. The J bend flare seats to provide a waterproof seal.

Abstract: The present invention relates to multipurpose furniture which combines a bed and a desk, and is positioned between furniture facing each other. Since a turning apparatus for the multipurpose furniture is simplified, there is a reduction in all kinds of work processes and the work load required for turning of a turning member, of which a table surface and a mattress respectively used as a desk and a bed are formed on top and bottom, and manufacturing cost is decreased. In addition, when the multipurpose furniture is used as a bed, stability during sleep is increased and sleeping in comfort is doubled through minimization of the height from the surface.

The apparatus comprises a hollow roller with a supply roll and take-up roll axially rotatably disposed within the volume of the hollow roller. A sheet material, such as adhesive tape, extends from the supply roll through a slot, around the periphery of the roller at least 180°, back into the slot and onto be take-up roll. A partition separates the supply roll and take-up roll, reducing contamination of tape on the supply roll. An index mechanism may be provided to advance the tape one path length from the supply roll to take-up roll, the user does not overuse or underuse fresh tape.

The plurality coating blades are arranged one after another. A thickness of the coating blades is reduced in a direction away from the handle part. The second portion of the sponge includes a plurality of edge line portions and a plurality of valley portions. The edge line portions are formed where cutting surfaces of a coating blade meet each other and each of the plurality of valley portions is formed where a cutting surface of one coating blade meets a cutting surface of a neighboring coating blade.
