Abstract: A communication jack, system using the jack, and method of fabricating the jack are disclosed. The jack includes a cavity configured to accept a communication plug to form a communication connector. The jack includes a plurality of plug interface contacts that extend into the cavity such that a plug inserted into the cavity makes electrical contact with the plug interface contacts at plug/jack interfaces of the plug interface contacts. One or more of the plug interface contacts is formed from multiple conductive layers. The conductive layers are movable relative to each other at at least one end. A dielectric layer or flexible printed circuit board may be disposed between the conductive layers.

Abstract: A spring connector includes an inner conductor and an outer conductor. The inner conductor is formed of a conductive material, and has a small-diameter portion, a large-diameter portion, and a resilient portion axially disposed so as to be integrally and continuously formed with each other. The outer conductor is formed of a conductive material, and is provided with a hole having a predetermined inside diameter. The outer conductor accommodates the large-diameter portion and the resilient portion in the hole while the small-diameter portion protrudes from an end of the hole.

Abstract: A screw terminal and a terminal block incorporating the same provides a mechanically a screw terminal frame with a closed perimeter that resists deformation of the terminal frame when a captured nut is being clamped against a wire within the terminal frame, allowing the captured nut to be clamped more tightly against the wire. Sidewalls of the terminal frame may include tabs that engage ledges of a block housing to support the screw terminal and the captured nut may have surface irregularities upon the surface that engages the wire and to improve electrical contact therebetween and resist mechanical pull out of the wire.

Abstract: The present invention provides a ground terminal fitting capable of being fixed to a ground member through a simple operation while permitting production cost to be reduced, and a ground device having the ground terminal fitting. The ground terminal fitting comprises a terminal body surrounding a through-hole, a clamping piece having a rising portion rising from an outer peripheral edge of the terminal body and a distal end portion extending inwardly from the rising portion along the terminal body, and a clampable piece located adjacent to the clamping piece in a circumferential direction of the terminal body. The clamping piece is adapted to clamp, when the ground terminal fitting is superimposed on a second ground terminal fitting, a clampable piece of the second ground terminal fitting to prevent a relative displacement between the ground terminal fittings.

Abstract: In a propulsion device for a marine motor, a shift rod (19) extends vertically in a gear case (1a) provided in a lower part of the marine motor, and is provided with a lower end (19a) cooperating with a mechanism for mechanically actuating a clutch device (18) for shifting a power transmission mechanism of the propulsion device. The lower end of the shift rod is additionally provided with a valve (37, 38) that controls feeding of hydraulic oil to an actuator (36) for assisting an effort required to turn the shift rod and actuate the clutch device. Thereby, the manual torque applied to the shift rod to turn the same to a forward and reverse position is assisted by the hydraulic actuator with a minimum modification to a purely manual arrangement for shifting the power transmission mechanism.

Abstract: A marine electric generator flushing system for a boat has a liquid container attached in the generator raw cooling water intake line and mounted in a boat hull positioned along the water line of the boat. The liquid container has a fresh water inlet that allows a fresh water hose to be connected thereto and which automatically blocks the raw water line anytime fresh water is entering the liquid container so that fresh water is drawn through the generator cooling system.

Abstract: A device and method for recovering articles inadvertently submerged in a body of water are disclosed. The device comprises a housing attachable to the article, the housing defining a storage chamber with a storage chamber opening at one end. The storage chamber contains a buoyant flotation element held in the storage chamber by a water-activated release mechanism that permits the flotation element to move toward and through the storage chamber opening when the device is submerged in water. The flotation element remains connected to the housing by a connection mechanism. The device housing also may include a biasing mechanism configured to bias the flotation element toward the storage chamber opening. The method includes attaching the housing to the article to be retrieved, having the flotation element release from the housing and float to the surface of the water and following the connection mechanism from the flotation element to the housing.

Abstract: A buoyant device that enhances water activities and surfing by providing increased thrust from incident waves through utilization of a surface or volume to propel the buoyant device. A buoyant enclosure with an internal hand grip has surfaces that promote hydroplaning, flotation and the reduction of friction through the shape, materials and laminations used to manufacture the device. At least one of the surfaces can engage moving water allowing a user to benefit from the thrust of a wave to increase propulsion. A shape that combines a planar bottom surface with planar area to at least one side surface forms a wave wall to enhance propulsion from the force of a wave. Hydroplaning is enhanced using material with increased buoyancy to improve the body surfing experience. The devices are hand held by the user and can be used independently or combined to function as a single device.

One embodiment of a subpad in accordance with the invention comprises a matrix having a first surface configured to support a polishing medium and a second surface opposite the first surface. The subpad in this embodiment further includes a hydro-control agent in the matrix. The hydro-control agent has a hydrophobicity that inhibits liquid from absorbing into the subpad. The hydro-control agent, for example, can be coupling agents that are generally hydrophobic, surfactants that are hydrophobic, or other agents that are compatible with the matrix and at least generally hydrophobic.
