Abstract: A new and distinct variety of interspecific tree. The following features of the tree and its fruit are characterized with the tree budded on ‘Nemaguard’ Rootstock (non-patented), grown on Handford sandy loam soil with Storie Index rating 95, in USDA Hardiness Zone 9, near Modesto, Calif., with standard commercial fruit growing practices, such as pruning, thinning, spraying, irrigation and fertilization. Its novelty consist of the following combination of desirable features: 1. Heavy and regular bearer of large size fruit. 2. Relatively uniform ripening of fruit throughout tree. 3. Fruit with very good flavor and eating quality. 4. Fruit with an attractive orange flesh and skin color. 5. Fruit with good balance between acid and sugar. 6. Vigorous, semi-spreading tree growth.

Abstract: ‘FairchildLS’ is a mid-season maturing diploid mandarin that combines medium-large sized fruit of excellent quality and production, with low seed content even in mixed plantings. It would likely be successful in the mid to late-season marketing window that currently has very few low seeded cultivars.

Abstract: A new and distinct Clematis cultivar named ‘UNAI 005’ is disclosed, characterized by good resistance to normal diseases and pests of Clematis, continuous flowering from May through September, with flower buds continuously produced from the leaf axils and a unique tepal coloration of Violet with a Red-Purple central bar. Plants are exceptionally floriferous and compact, making them especially well suited for container production. The new cultivar is a Clematis, suitable for ornamental garden purposes.

The system includes a patient-operated apparatus for measuring blood glucose values and for storing data relating to insulin doses administered to the patient. The apparatus predicts the patient's future blood glucose value based upon the patient's current blood glucose value, the fraction of insulin action remaining from the insulin doses, and the patient's insulin sensitivity. The apparatus also determines the corrective action for the patient when the predicted blood glucose value lies outside of a target range. The system also includes a physician computer in communication with the apparatus for receiving the blood glucose values and insulin dose data and for calculating an adjusted insulin sensitivity for use in subsequent predictions.

Abstract: The lack of air flow under body armor, helmets, and thick garments can lead to excessive moisture build up and discomfort on the wearers body due to lack of heat removal and effective evaporation of sweat. By incorporating wick covered heat pipes or thermal conductors with air flow channels in the apparel contact area between the garments, helmets, and body armor the effectiveness air flow cooling and evaporation of sweat can be restored. Humidity or temperature auto-actuated bi-material valves are used to control this air-moisture-heat flow to achieve a controlled comfortable humidity-temperature environment and avoid excessive cooling. Supplementary air pumps, filters, dehydrators, fluid pumps, heating fluids, and cooling fluids may be incorporated to enhance the effectiveness. Biocides and hydrophilic materials are also incorporated on the wick coverings to avoid biological growth and maintain performance to achieve a healthy environment for the wearer.
