The tube-shaped device comprises an elongated tunnel having a first and second opening with wire grooming bristles attached within its interior. The pet is able to walk through the opening and as the animal passes through the device wire bristles brush the pet's hair in the natural direction, from head to tail. The distance the animal must pass through while traversing the device ensures that the animal's fur is sufficiently engaged by the bristles to promote a thorough grooming with each pass through the device, while a pathway free of grooming elements is provided for the pet to walk through the tunnel with ease and less trepidation. A barrier crossing and stand alone embodiment are disclosed, along with a method of construction.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 28, 2012Publication date: September 6, 2012Inventor: Mike Chura

Publication number: 20120222629Abstract: The present invention provides an improved head restraint that can be used in conjunction with conventional cattle chutes that are equipped with head gates. It provides the advantages of being humane by causing little or no discomfort to the cattle being restrained. Its implementation can reduce the human labor requirements associated with treating a herd of cattle and generally leads to savings in medication by virtue of being able to more accurately apply medications to the eyes of a cow having a stabilized head as compared to loss of medication when dealing with a struggling animal that is jerking its head around during the procedure. Its use greatly reduces the risk of injury to the animal and the person administering the treatment to the animal. Head restraints of this invention offer the advantage of being capable of being affixed to existing chutes of differing sizes.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 10, 2012Publication date: September 6, 2012Applicant: CATTLE REPUBLIC, INC.Inventor: Russell W. Publication number: 20120222630Abstract: A leash for domestic animals comprising a box-shaped body that houses a cord-winding pulley and a handle with open annular profile that ends at the free ends with rotational pins inserted from opposite sides in suitable housings obtained on the sides of a basically rectangular short pipe joined to said box-shaped body. The handle is provided with a button that stops and releases the pulley with the interposition of suitable return means. The handle is composed of two C-shaped semi-parts, each of them ending with one of said rotational pins at one end and with fast coupling and uncoupling mechanisms at the other end.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 6, 2010Publication date: September 6, 2012Applicant: PRIMENOVE S.R.L.Inventor: Rocco Catena

Publication number: 20120222631Abstract: A hot water heater, particularly but not exclusively for domestic use, is herein described and having removably secured thereto a modular heat exchanger or an external water heater to heat the water in a separate tank portion. The two are easily separable from one another for service, repair or interchange. The air-to-air heat exchanger extracts heat loss from the central flue of a gas fired water heater to provide a source of heat for the building in which the hot water heater is installed. The external water heater is provided with a gas-fired burner for heating water from the tank circulated in a heat exchanger to transfer heat from a fluid heated by the burner and circulated in the heat exchanger to transfer the heat to water circulated from the water tank.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 20, 2012Publication date: September 6, 2012Inventors: Claude Lesage, Jean-Claude Lesage

Publication number: 20120222632Abstract: The present invention relates to a piston (10) for an internal combustion engine, having an outer circumferential cooling channel (19) and an inner cooling cavity (21), the cooling cavity bottom (22) of which has an opening (23) that is closed off with a separate closure element (33) that has at least one cooling oil opening (35), whereby the closure element (33) is held, in clamped manner, by means of two engagement elements (37) disposed on the outer edge, in at least one engagement groove (34) provided in the region of the opening (23) of the cooling cavity bottom (22). According to the invention, it is provided that the closure element (33) has at least two spring tabs (38) that support themselves on a contact surface (39) provided in the piston interior, in each instance, in such a manner that the closure element (33) is held in the engagement groove (34) under axial bias.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 18, 2011Publication date: September 6, 2012Applicant: MAHLE International GmbHInventor: Rainer Scharp

Publication number: 20120222633Abstract: The invention concerns a cooling system, in particular a motor vehicle cooling system comprising a cooling circuit, in which a cooling medium is circulated by means of a cooling medium pump; wherein the cooling medium pump or another work machine is driven by means of a drive machine via a hydrodynamic coupling, comprising a pump impeller driven by the drive machine and a turbine wheel driving the cooling medium pump, which together form a toroidal working chamber which can optionally be filled with working medium; wherein the working medium is the cooling medium; a compensating container, comprising a space filled with cooling medium and an air chamber above a cooling medium level in the space filled with cooling medium. The invention is characterised in that the working chamber of the hydrodynamic coupling is always connected to the air chamber or can optionally be connected to the latter via an air-conducting connection.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2010Publication date: September 6, 2012Applicant: VOITH PATENT GMBHInventors: Sandra Barthelmäs, Jochen Thönnissen, Markus Kley, Dieter Laukemann

Publication number: 20120222634Abstract: A three-port flow control valve comprising a valve body having two opposite-facing valve seats disposed along a central bore terminating in an exhaust port. A supply port communicates with the first valve seat, and a common port communicates with the second valve seat. A pintle shaft connected to an actuating linear solenoid extends along the central bore. A first valve head actuated by the pintle shaft mates with the first valve seat. A second valve head disposed colinearly with the pintle shaft mates with the second valve seat. Opening of the first valve closes the second valve and vice versa. While the solenoid is de-energized the supply pressure keeps the first valve closed. A spring may be disposed between the second valve head and the exhaust port to urge the second valve head to close with the second valve seat.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 30, 2012Publication date: September 6, 2012Applicant: DELPHI TECHNOLOGIES, INC.Inventors: MICHAEL J. Publication number: 20120222635Abstract: A variable valve operating apparatus for an internal combustion engine is provided which includes a helical wall part provided in a guide rail for changing valve opening characteristics of a valve and a projection part, and can secure a contact area between the two when the two are engaged, thus successfully reducing the contact pressure generated between the two. The placement of the projection part with respect to the helical wall part is determined such that the central axis line of the projection part and the central axis line of a camshaft perpendicularly intersect with each other in a state in which the projection part is protruded toward the guide rail by an actuator.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2009Publication date: September 6, 2012Applicant: TOYOTA JIDOSHA KABUSHIKI KAISHAInventors: Hirotaka Sunada, Motohiro Tsuzuki, Woongseon Ryu, Akihiko Kawata
