Abstract: Apparatus and method for the rapid cleaning of the central drum of flexographic printing machines includes a cleaning device with presser, cloth and fluid. The presser brings the cloth into contact with the rotating drum. The presser undergoes a suitable oscillating movement parallel to the axis of the rotating drum. At the ends of the cleaning device, the shoulders of the base of the flexographic machine are equipped with any suitable opposed openings of the correct width through which the cleaning device can oscillate. The cleaning device periodically can be inserted or withdrawn axially through at least one of the openings to allow replacement of the cloth without the need to cut the substrate.

Abstract: Printing material printing processes generate a raster bit map manipulated by matrix manipulation to compensate for geometrical distortions of the printed image on the printing material. First of all, the same correction functions are used for following raster bit maps, if the intention is to dispense with the imaging of test printing formes. Measuring marks are also printed, while printing is underway, at fixed positions on a sheet to establish any present register defects. Different repeat configurations for follow-up printing means that it is no longer possible for the measuring marks to be provided at the same positions. The ascertained deviations are used to interpolate adjusted deviations at the first positions for the first measuring marks to make it possible to use the second measuring marks at the shifted positions. Further technical measures are then implemented on this basis. A printing system for printing a printing material is also provided.

The conveying part is configured and arranged to convey a continuous recording material. The image-forming part is configured and arranged to form an image on the recording material conveyed by the conveying part. The first through third sensors are configured and arranged to detect positions of an edge surface of the recording material conveyed by the conveying part. The control part is configured to calculate first through third shifting amounts based on the positions of the edge surface of the recording material simultaneously detected by the first through third sensors, respectively. The first shifting amount is generated by movement of the recording material, the second shifting amount is generated by rotation of the recording material, and the third shifting amount is generated by fluctuations in the edge surface of the recording material.

Abstract: A detonator formed entirely from a plurality of discrete segments of an insensitive energetic composition, each of the segments employed in the detonator being compacted at different pressures from powder and/or granules of insensitive energetic composition so as to form an energetic train which sequences detonation of the individual segments. Initiation of a main charge can only be effected when a last segment in the detonation train is initiated. Detonation starts with a first segment in the detonation train which is produced under the lowest compaction pressure, and then detonation progresses to a last segment compacted under a higher compaction pressure. The first segment can be detonated by a safety fuse or detonating cord, and the last segment can only be detonated by the next to the last segment in the detonation train.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a preparation method for a UV-shielding material based on Mg—Al Layered Double Hydroxide. The material with multi-layered overlay structure is made from Mg—Al double hydroxide layers and interlayer carbonate, its molecular composition is: Mg1-xAlx(OH)2(CO3)x/2.mH2O. The inorganic layers of this material can play a physical shielding role against UV, and the metal elements dispersed on the layer as well as the interlayer anion can play a great role in the chemical absorbing. In addition, by controlling the particle size and the amount of the layers, UV light can be effectively shielded by multi-level reflection and absorption of the multi-level layered structure. Therefore, the material with multi-level chemical and physical shielding properties has a good UV barrier effect for the anti-ageing asphalt, and could significantly increase its UV resistance properties.

Abstract: A metering member for a seed meter having a with a sidewall formed with an radially outward and axially flared rim portion is provided. A plurality of apertures extend though the rim portion to which seed is adhered. The metering member is oriented at an angle to the vertical such that an upper portion of the metering member extends beyond a lower portion of the metering member. This orientation allows a seed delivery system to extend into the interior of the metering member and cooperate with the overhanging metering member to remove seed therefrom.

Abstract: An alert system allows a dog to ring chimes that has been specially made for dogs, although the alert system can be used for other household pets as well. A beautiful sound resonates throughout the home to inform individuals that the dog needs to go out. The alert system may include a plurality of chimes arranged on a base that is either attached to a door hinge pin or mounted on a wall. Unlike conventional wind chimes, the dog door chimes does not include a wind catcher to cause the chimes to ring. Instead, the chimes are configured to sound when nudged by a dog's paw, body, head or nose, for example. The dog door chimes may include a relatively large ringer to prevent chewing thereupon by dogs.
