Abstract: Disclosed herein is a waterproof case for protecting electronic devices. The waterproof case includes a flexible waterproof bag attached to a rigid lid that can be opened to allow electronic devices to pass into the bag. When closed, the lid forms a watertight seal that protects the inside of the bag from ingress of water. The lid can include a pass-through jack which allows a user to connect an electronic device, such as an audio device, to an output through the lid. The case may also be incorporated into a flexible attachment system, such as an armband or swimbelt. Methods of connecting an electronic device to an electronic output, such as an audio output, through a waterproof case are also provided.

Abstract: A hair dryer heat shielding device 10 is provided. The device 10 includes a first planar member 14 having first and second diagonally descending members 22 and 24 coupled thereto. A second planar member 34 and third and fourth diagonally descending members 42 and 44 reinforces lower portions of the first planar member 14 and first and second diagonally extending members 22 and 24. A third planar member 52 is coupled to uppermost portions of the first planar member 14 to provide a protective shield for the planar member. A coupling member 56 is provided to couple the device 10 in a predetermined position around a user's 68 head 70 so that the user's face 72 is shielded from heat generated by a dryer.

Abstract: A sun screen article protecting at least an arm and a shoulder, and optionally a portion of the neck and/or a portion of the hand of a person wearing it from excessive exposure to solar radiation, and method of using the sun screen article inside a vehicle. The article includes a tubular portion adapted to protect an arm and a flap adjoining the tubular portion and adapted to protect a shoulder. An optional collar portion affixed to the open and of the flap is structured to screen at least a portion of the neck. An epaulette, in affixable cooperation with the flap of the sun screen article, prevents a shoulder harness from freely moving with respect to the sun screen article and a body of the sun screen article from sliding down the arm of the wearer.

Abstract: A ball glove includes a rear strap or back strap that is adjustable to accommodate different hand configurations and sizes. The back strap includes multiple spaced apart openings, or sets of openings, through which one or more laces or other connecting elements may be threaded. A user may adjust the length of the back strap by threading the laces through the openings that yield the best strap-length for his or her hand or wrist. The back strap optionally includes a top portion and a bottom portion that are detachably connected to each other, such that the top portion may be replaced with a different top portion embroidered with—or otherwise displaying—a wearer's jersey number, team logo, or other desired feature.

Abstract: Protective pads for protecting a body part of a person, such as a shin guard for protecting the shin from impacts during sporting activities, and methods of making the same, are disclosed. The protective pad comprises an outer shell and a padding layer connected to the outer shell. The protective pad further comprises at least one padding element located in an interior portion of a lower portion of the protective pad. The at least one padding element is configured to provide a space between the body part and at least one of the outer shell and the padding layer. In this manner, the space provided between the body part and at least one of the outer shell and the padding layer allows the outer shell and the padding layer to absorb and dissipate more of a force resulting from an impact to the protective pad away from the body part.

Abstract: Protective devices that are substantially simultaneously used as adjustable weighted resistance training devices are disclosed. More specifically, embodiments of the present invention are directed to improved, adjustably weighted protective shin guards that can extend to integrate instep protection.

Abstract: A garment for wear by a human body having a localized fat accumulation includes an insulative and perspiration impermeable panel sized to conform to the localized fat accumulation. The garment also includes a supportive cover connected to the panel for retaining the panel in contact to the localized fat accumulation during wear, and a boning segment connected to the panel for supporting and shaping the body during wear. The garment may be in the form of a kit further including a wipe containing an absorbed anticellulite agent. The wipe spreads the anticellulite agent on the body where contacted by the panel during wear.

Abstract: An outerwear garment composed of a body having a neckline and a collar includes a collar accessory that includes front and back regions of material joined to the body of the outerwear garment in proximity to the neckline. The collar accessory has an interior space of changeable volume between the front and back regions. An elongated inflatable air cushion is positioned within the interior space. The air cushion expands into the interior space and assumes a tubular shape to support at least one of the neck and head of the wearer when the air cushion is in an inflated state. The air cushion includes a valve stem through which the wearer can deliver pressurized air to inflate the air cushion to its inflated state or from which the wearer can expel air to flatten the air cushion to its non-inflated state.

Abstract: The flat, topless sock is are re-usable, machine washable/dryable, sock/stocking alternative that is inserted into a shoe or sandal, adhering to the shoe's insole so it can be worn in place of traditional socks to give the wearer the “no-sock” look while providing the benefits of wearing a sock. The preferred embodiment of the flat, topless sock consists of a soft, durable, absorbent surface in contact with the skin on the bottom of the foot and an adhesive/anti-slip surface on the opposite side which is in contact with/adheres to the insole of the shoe or sandal. Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure include a laminate composite toilet lid and seat and a method of manufacturing thereof. The toilet lid includes a core structural layer having a shape and size associated with the toilet lid. The toilet lid also includes a first decorative graphic layer disposed on a first surface of the core structural layer. The toilet lid further includes a plurality of exterior layers disposed on exterior surfaces of the core structural layer and the first decorative graphic layer, the exterior layers configured to envelop the toilet lid.

Abstract: A toilet seat ventilation system which includes a toilet bowl and a toilet seat pivotally secured to the toilet bowl. A ventilation device is interposed between the toilet bowl and the toilet seat with a built in vent. A tubing system connected to the vent is able to vent air directly into the outside or through a filter inside the room, avoiding any unpleasant odors remaining in the lavatory.

Abstract: Present embodiments are directed to a system and method for generating waves in multiple directions. Present embodiments may include a wave generation mechanism configured to be positioned centrally within a container filled with water that is sufficiently sized to facilitate recreational activities for patrons within the container. The wave generation mechanism may include at least one actuator configured to activate at least one water-displacement medium to displace the water such that waves are propagated through the water, and a directional feature configured to direct the waves away from the wave generation mechanism after activation of the actuator such that the waves are propagated outward from the wave generation mechanism in multiple directions.

Abstract: Present embodiments are directed to features for maintaining or providing a beach area that is adjacent a water feature and that includes beach surface material disposed in one or more containment structures such that a multi-colored or illuminated beach surface is provided. Present embodiments may include multiple containment structures arrayed in an area adjacent a water feature, wherein each containment structure holds beach surface material of a different color. Further, present embodiments may include creating and/or distributing iridescent and/or phosphorescent beach surface material in one or more containment structures that define the beach area. Abstract: An existing shower is retrofitted with a novel shower panel that uses the existing on/off water pressure and temperature control valve without any re-plumbing behind the shower wall. The shower panel includes a support frame, a diverter valve, a plurality of water jets, a side showerhead, a hand nozzle and an overhead showerhead. The support frame has an open side that faces the shower wall. A first tube connects the diverter valve to the plurality of water jets. A second tube is connected to the diverter valve at a first end and has a threaded connector at the second end. The threaded connector is adapted to connect to a shower water source after the existing shower pipe is removed. The first tube has a smaller diameter than does the second tube. The plurality of water jets are arranged within a square that is twenty-five centimeters on a side.

Abstract: A shower stretcher assembly includes a frame which supports a platform having panels that define a back rest section, a seat section, and a foot section. The seat section is of flexible material which conforms to the shape of a person lying thereon. This flexible material provides increase in the effective length of the mattress support that conforms to person's body between navel and knees.

Bilateral lift arms move in concert with the raising and lowering function of the foot platform to elevate the person to a standing-prone position from a seated position. In a raised position, the lift arms are located alongside a user to provide additional posture control. Optional motors associated with one or more wheels of the device may be controlled by the user with a joystick for self-propelled standing mobility.

The wire core which includes an upper wire grid made of four distinct border wires and support wires extending between two opposing border wires. Abstract: In one embodiment, an adaptable cover configured to substantially surround and encase a mattress or box spring is disclosed. The encasement is stretchable, and can be adapted for use with at least two different sizes of mattresses or box springs.

Abstract: A patient-support apparatus includes an inflatable support structure, a variable output pump, a power supply and a controller. The pump includes a driver that is responsive to variations in the power signal applied to the driver to vary the output from the pump. The pump output is varied depending on the amount of flow needed as determined by a sensor that senses the pressure in the inflatable support structure.

Each pier is formed with a base with a linked positioning mechanism for each connector and support member. Each positioning mechanism utilizes a column and a first arm having a proximal portion and a distal portion. The first arm proximal portion is axially rotatable relative to the first column. The second arm possesses a proximal portion and a distal portion such that the second arm proximal portion is axially rotatable relative to the distal portion of the first arm. The second arm distal portion links to the frame connector. A controller determines the axial rotation of the proximal portions of the first and second arms to determine an overall configuration of the frame.

There is a generally rectangular substrate backing having a longitudinally disposed head and tail ends and two transversely disposed opposing side ends, substantially concentrically disposed on and fixedly attached to the body anchoring portion. In use, the table straps are placed through a break of the operating table and secured to the head end of the operating table to prevent the patient from sliding toward the head end of the operating table in the Trendelenburg position.

Abstract: A pillow includes an upper surface having a raised edge proximate the upper and lower edges of the upper surface and at least one cut out through one of the raised edges. The pillow includes a recessed surface in the upper surface for supporting the back surface of the user's neck and cranium and the sides of the user's head. The pillow includes at least one internal armature that is flexible and bendable such that the pillow can be manipulated into a selected configuration with manual force. The pillow can be configured from a substantially flat configuration and into a substantially “U” shape where left and right edges are in front of the user's face. In the “U” shaped configuration, the user can roll from side to side while the pillow remains in direct contact and rolls uniformly with the user's head maintaining support for both the neck and head and thereby provide a more comfortable rest or sleep.

Abstract: An enhanced knit fabric fire barrier for mattresses and method for making same, the fabric barrier including a looped terry knitted fabric with a jersey side and a looped terry side; the jersey side including a fire retardant yarn and a melting yarn; the looped terry side including a fire retardant yarn; the loops in the jersey side are very high loops between about 4 mm and about 8 mm which char to provide a fire barrier for latex and highly volatile foams in mattresses. Also a double knit construction and method for making same, the fabric providing improved performance with the addition of a fire retardant yarn on the outside of the loops. Also, an enhanced fire-resistant full-foam mattress.

Abstract: The present application is directed to an oil-in-glycol lamellar gel, which comprises (a) at least one glycol, (b) at least one fatty alcohol, (c) at least one cationic surfactant, (d) at least one non-ionic surfactant and (e) at least one amino acid, for application as an addictive for permanent or semi-permanent keratin fiber color products, being the said lamellar gel able to improve dispersion of colorant agents in the color composition and the distribution, diffusion, interaction and maintenance of the colorant agents in the keratin fibers, which results in greater color vitality and retardation of the discoloring process.

Abstract: The present invention concerns a process for oxidative coloring keratin fibers especially human hair wherein a pretreatment is applied onto hair prior to application of oxidative colouring agent. Accordingly, present invention is a process for oxidative dyeing of keratin fibers especially human hair wherein an aqueous composition comprising at least one inorganic salt catalyzing and/or effecting the oxidative colour development reaction from oxidative dye precursors is applied onto wet or dry hair and optionally rinsed off, and subsequently an aqueous composition comprising at least one oxidative dye precursor, optionally at least one coupling agent and at least one oxidizing agent is applied onto hair and after processing of 5 to 45 min with or without use of heat, preferably at a temperature range between 20 and 45° C., rinsed off from hair.

Abstract: There is provided in a preferred embodiment of the present invention a maintenance device for snaps or fasteners having a housing and a dynamic body that is slidably engaged within said housing. Attached to the dynamic body is a pair of cleaning arms. A spring positioned between the body and the housing biases the body and arms to a relaxed and extended position. When the body is pressed against and engages a fastener, the body moves to a retracted position within the housing causing the cleaning arms pivot and engage the fastener. With the cleaning arms engaged, a twisting movement of the housing removes corrosion, dirt and debris from the fastener. The device further includes a refillable lubrication reservoir and channel which serves to lubricate the fastener while it is cleaned.
