Abstract: Arc welding systems, methods, and apparatus that provide dual-spectrum, real-time viewable, enhanced user-discrimination between arc welding characteristics during an arc welding process. Welding headgear is configured to shield a user from harmful radiation and to include a digital camera or cameras to provide dual-spectrum (i.e., both visible spectrum and infrared spectrum) real-time digital video image frames. The welding headgear is also configured with an optical display assembly for displaying real-time digital video image frames to the user while wearing the headgear during an arc welding process. Image processing is performed on the visible and infrared spectrum video image frames to generate dual-spectrum video image frames providing an integrated and optimized view of both the visible and thermal characteristics of the arc welding process which can be viewed by the user on the optical display assembly in real time.

Abstract: A mechanical energy harvesting toothbrush may employ circuits and devices to convert mechanical energy into electrical energy. Such conversion can be done using piezoelectric devices to convert stresses and strains from bending of the toothbrush head and/or bristles during use, and can be done using electromagnetic generators involving passing a magnet through a coil to induce current. The resulting electric energy may be rectified, and stored in a storage device, such as a capacitor or rechargeable battery. A switching circuit may be configured to detect the level of energy stored in the storage device, and to close an electrical connection when a predetermined level of energy (e.g., a charge) has been reached. The predetermined level may correspond to a desired amount of brushing. The closing of the electrical connection may be used to power output devices when that desired amount of brushing has been reached.

Abstract: A flexible strip brush element is constructed from multiple monofilaments arranged in a parallel fashion and attached at one end to a flexible base. The monofilaments are attached to the base by intermingling material from the base with material from the monofilaments. The free ends of the monofilaments collectively form a bristle end zone. A plurality of flexible strip brush elements may be bonded side-by-side so the free ends of the monofilaments form a common bristle end zone. to The bonded flexible strip brush elements may take the form of a linear section or may be fashioned into an endless loop or jointless spiral.

Abstract: A wiper blade device with a durable mesh sponge member attached between two removable wiper blade members. The combination sponge and wiper blade construction provides a unitary device that combines the two distinct functions of cleaning solids and wiping water from vehicular windshields. The device further provides minimal windshield obstruction given its construction, improving current wiper blade capabilities without degrading visibility or impacting safety of the vehicle. The device may comprise a wiper blade refill attachable to a wiper blade mount, providing the practitioner with an improved windshield wiper blade that is cost effective and one that requires no modification of the vehicle to implement.
