Abstract: A hose holder for a boat, or for another object upon which contact with a hose is undesirable, is a shaped rigid rod provided with a means for suspending the rod close to its midpoint, the shape created by bending each end of the rod into a helix. The rod is smaller in diameter than a common garden hose. The helices have a common, horizontal axis with an inner diameter larger than such a hose. The means for suspending the rod is above the outer diameter of the helices. Other embodiments utilize non-helical rod shapes to support the hose.

Abstract: A fishing sinker that reduces loss of the sinker and other tackle due to being snagged. The sinker includes an elastic portion extending between a first weighted end and a second weighted end. The elastic portion allows the sinker to extend in length when a force is applied thereto, and return to essentially its original length when the force is removed. When a force is applied to the fishing line, the fisherman is able to determine by feel whether the sinker is lodged in a snare or if a fish is on the hook. If the sinker is snagged, when the fisherman applies force to set the hook, the sinker stretches, which the fisherman can feel and thus realize that there is no fish but that the sinker is snagged. When the force is released, the elastic portion snaps back, often resulting in a sling-shot effect dislodging the sinker.

Abstract: A method for preparing ultra-low ash coal-water slurry includes: (A) grinding of coal to a size below the upper size limit and then making a proper concentration slurry; (B) screening coal by using the slurry particle separation device and separating them by density into tailings, middlings and clean coal, adjusting the fraction of clean coal production according to the ash content standard of final product and then producing the clean coal slurry and tailings slurry; (C) wet grinding of the middlings in step B; (D) reprocessing the product in step C by step B. The upper size limit can be 0.2 mm, 0.01 mm or 0.001 mm, and the ash content can be below 2%, 1% or 0.5%. This method can largely enhance the production rate of clean coal, improve the coal-water slurry fuel's particle size graduation, improve the fluidity and increase the particle concentration of the coal-water slurry fuel.

Abstract: A method is provided for growing microalgae from wastewater for oil production in a three-step wastewater treatment facility. In the method, two carbon sources are selected for addition to the wastewater, which contains naturally-occurring bacteria. Specifically, the first carbon source is selected to increase the carbon-to-nitrogen ratio and the carbon-to-phosphorous ratio within the microalgae. The first carbon source serves as a food source for the microalgae, and the second carbon source promotes the breakdown of carbon nitrogen and phosphorous by the bacteria cells into a more easily digestible form for the microalgae. Due to the added carbon, the wastewater supports growth of the microalgae and the production of oils therein.

Abstract: A post sleeve installation assembly includes: an elastomeric sleeve core shaped to form a post sleeve when positioned in uncured concrete, a removable stiffener inside the core, an aperture extending lengthwise in the stiffener, a locking element positioned within the core, and an assembly plate coupled to the stiffener. The assembly plate clamps to a prefabricated sleeve element, with the core and stiffener positioned within a post cavity of the sleeve element, an installation stake is positioned in the aperture and prevented from sliding upwards by the locking element. A release point on the assembly plate permits an operator to release the locking element for removal of the stake. To install a post sleeve, the operator positions the installation assembly, clamped to a prefabricated sleeve element, in a post hole with the stake resting on the bottom, then fills the hole with concrete, manipulating the stake to position the assembly.
