Publication number: 20130144416Abstract: Verification methods, systems, and computer program products verify the completion of assembly instructions used in light-manufacturing. Using position guides in a user interface, an in-use component is aligned and ready for verification through a first set of images of the in-use component. A visual highlight area on the user interface overlaying the in-use component indicates where to perform the assembly instructions. To create a traceable record, a second set of images are stored in an assembly record database when the assembler points a wand where the in-use component has been assembled. Another verification approach includes pointing an image capture device over the in-use component and receiving a first voice command authorizing image acquisition. A second voice command confirms accuracy of the image and proper assembly. Storing first and second voice commands and images of the in-use component being assembled in an assembly record database creates another traceable record useful for verification.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2012Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicant: PARAMIT CORPORATIONInventor: BALBIR S. Publication number: 20130144425Abstract: The present invention discloses a five-axis flank milling system for machining a curved surface and a tool-path planning method. The method generates a tool path comprising a series of cutter locations by optimization with minimizing machining errors. The tool path planning method includes a reciprocating tool path planning method and a multi-pass tool path planning method. The reciprocating tool path planning method eliminates the “forward only” limitation. The tool is allowed to move backward in certain regions, producing smaller machining errors compared with forward only cutter movement. Furthermore, the multi-pass tool path planning method computes various tool paths applied to finish milling multiple times. Each path can be chosen to be generated by minimizing undercut error, overcut error, or the total machining error. The machining errors are reduced in a progressive manner, resulting in better machining quality than single pass tool path.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2012Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicant: NATIONAL TSING HUA UNIVERSITYInventors: Chih-Hsing Chu, Hsin-Ta Hsieh

Publication number: 20130144430Abstract: A material-loading control system and method are disclosed for controlling a track conveyor on a production line through a control unit. When materials are to be loaded, production information is first obtained from a production management system, and information of a tray to be loaded, information of a feeder in which the tray is loaded, and information of a corresponding station are identified. The various information are compared with the production information obtained to see whether they are matched or not. If they are not matched, the control unit is instructed to power off the track conveyor to stop the operation of the track conveyor. In addition, during subsequent production process, if a material-tossing action is detected in the production line, then the control unit is instructed to stop the operation of the track conveyor, thereby ensuring the correctness of tray changing and reducing the error rate in material loading.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 7, 2012Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicants: ASKEY COMPUTER CORPORATION, ASKEY TECHNOLOGY (JIANGSU) LTD.Inventors: Ya-Jun Tao, Shu-Yen Lee, Ching-Feng Hsieh

Publication number: 20130144432Abstract: Automatic planogram programming for a glass front snack or cold drink vending machine is accomplished using tray, product and price barcodes, each preferably a different type of barcode. Trays within the vending machine are labeled with unique barcodes, and a set of price barcodes for predetermined prices is provided together with a USB-connected scanner. The barcode label affixed to any tray is scanned by the route driver. The UPC/EAN barcodes on products are then scanned for each selection progressing across the tray, together with a price barcode for the first selection and each subsequent selection having a different price from the prior selection on the tray. Planogram data for the tray may be reviewed and corrected on a customer interface display for the vending machine before moving on to another tray, with the trays programmed in any order. The planogram for the entire vending machine is quickly and accurately programmed.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 26, 2012Publication date: June 6, 2013Applicant: CRANE MERCHANDISING SYSTEMS, INC.Inventors: James M.
