Abstract: Tools and techniques for providing protection to a hand and wrist with a hand wrap underlying a glove are presented. A hand wrap may comprise a hand support having a hand grip intended to engage the first of a hand from a palmar side of the hand flush against the underside of the knuckles, and, an elastic tubular liner operatively associated with the hand support. The elastic tubular liner may have a length sufficient to extend beyond an opening of a glove receiving the hand support, such that the tubular liner defines a first layer under the glove, and a second layer overlapping the first layer when folded over. The second layer may receive and sandwich the opening of the glove between the first and second layers of the elastic tubular liner.

Abstract: An adjustable garment that forms a hand sheath with at least one fingerlike extension, and operable to adjust in length through various means for providing various amounts of protection to the hand against radiation. The adjustable garment includes a body portion configured to be operable to at least partially cover a hand. The body portion includes a body proximal end and a body distal end. The body proximal end includes a body aperture configured to at least partially allow a hand to pass through. Each extension can be manipulated, pushed, or pulled to expose additional areas of each finger. For example, a lateral force presses the extension proximal end towards the body portion, thereby at least partially exposing the at least one finger. The lateral force pressing against each extension serves to deform the size and dimensions of the flexible extension to deform, stretch, or twist.

Abstract: Tools and techniques for providing protection to a foot and leg with a shin guard compression sleeve underlying a shin guard are presented. A shin guard compression sleeve may comprise a toe shoe having individual toe apertures and pockets intended to contain the toes of a foot received therein, and, an elastic tubular liner operatively associated with the toe shoe. The elastic tubular liner may compressively receive a portion of a leg and have a length sufficient to extend beyond the top of a shin guard receiving the sleeve, such that the tubular liner defines a first layer under the shin guard, and a second layer overlapping the first layer when folded over. The second layer may hook over an end portion of the shin guard, thereby sandwiching the shin guard between the first and second layers of the elastic tubular liner.

Abstract: A shirt collar for securing a neck tie or other accessory. One embodiment of the invention includes a collar band, first collar flap, and second collar flap. The bottom edge portion of the first collar flap attaches to the bottom edge portion of the collar band. The first collar flap can be folded up so that the tie sits between the collar band and the first collar flap. The traditional collar, or second collar flap, can then be folded down over both the first collar flap and the necktie.

In another embodiment, the winged element connects from a portion the arm of the athletic clothing to a portion of the torso area, such that a winged element is created, but it is not continuous along the torso and arm of the athletic clothing. In specific embodiments, the winged element is made from a flexible fabric material.

Abstract: Laminates are described having a durable outer film surface for use in making lightweight liquidproof articles of apparel, such as outerwear garments. A method of making the laminate and a lightweight outerwear garment having an abrasion resistant exterior film surface is described.

Abstract: A quick release garment such as a tactical vest wherein the garment includes a waist belt that is provided with two connector systems, one for manual release of the belt and one for remote release of the belt. The vest may include armor that is generally conformable to the waist shape of a wearer, which armor is insertable within the waist belt of the garment.

Abstract: A nursing cover and purse includes a flat rectangular piece of fabric secured with a strap to conceal breastfeeding. The nursing cover and purse also includes a female connector at each corner, two male connectors at substantially a center of the top hem, two male connectors at substantially a center of a bottom hem, wherein the male and female connectors are joined to secure the flat rectangular panel of fabric into a folded configuration. A plurality of connecting elements attached to the bottom hem, a plurality of mating elements attached to the top hem, the plurality of connecting elements are connected to the plurality of mating elements to convert the flat rectangular panel of fabric from the folded configuration to a fully functioning purse with strap for carrying.

Abstract: A power module assembly for being mounted to headgear is provided. The power module assembly can include a housing member and a cover member configured to mount thereto. The housing member and cover member can have a generally curved profile configured for fitting against a user's head. The housing member can be generally rigid, and the cover member generally flexible and resilient, so that the cover member can mount to the housing member with a snap fit connection therebetween. The housing member can further include a plurality of handles, so that straps of the headgear can extend through openings between the handles corresponding surfaces of the housing member to secure the power module assemble to the headgear.

The attire for heels or footwear can be used both at home or outside with shoes. The attire for heels has a supporting surface which is located at the heel part of the foot and can be worn on foot like socks without any connecting means.

Abstract: A decorative boot warmer is presented. The boot warmer has a sleeve which transitions from a top end to a bottom end in the form of a tube. The boot warmer has a first cuff piece positioned adjacent the top end of the boot warmer, and a second cuff piece positioned adjacent the bottom end of the boot warmer. A decorative feature is connected to the boot warmer. When worn on a user's leg or calf, the boot warmer serves to keep a user's leg warm while also improving the aesthetic appearance.

Abstract: A foldable fabric cuff for comfortably maintaining the position of a compression hosiery or other garment. The fabric cuff has a static region and a folding region, such that the open end of the compression garment is sandwiched between the static region and the folding region when the cuff is worn in the folded position. The static region of the cuff is provided with a gripping surface that secures the open end of the compression garment in a comfortable, static position.

Abstract: Suspenders having a pair of strap members particularly for wearing under outer garments. At least one side of each of the strap member has loop members thereon substantially along the entire length which mate with pieces of hook-type material secured on one or more of the strap members. The pair of strap members are connected together to allow fasteners to the wearer's pants. Adjustment buckles are eliminated. The hook-type members at the ends of the strap members adjacent the fasteners provide adjustability. Additional hook-type members are used to allow adjustability at the backs of the wearers.

The toilet purging device includes: pipe body that has a gas channel through the pipe body; a firing unit that includes a firing pin disposed to be longitudinally movable and a switch for moving the firing pin to the pipe body when pushed, and coupled to the upper end of the pipe body; a tightening cap that is thread-fastened to the top of the firing unit with a gas container therebetween and moves the gas container to be in close contact with the firing pin when turned; and a connector that is coupled to the lower end of the pipe body and inserted into a drain pipe of a toilet.

Abstract: A water leakage protecting device includes a ratchet, a pawl and an auxiliary floater. The ratchet is formed on an outer wall of a floater of a water inlet valve. The auxiliary floater has a floating cavity and a weight cavity therein. The weight cavity has a water drain hole at a bottom thereof. The auxiliary floater is coupled to the water inlet valve through a rotating shaft. The pawl corresponds in position to the ratchet and is connected to one side of the auxiliary floater close to the floater of the water inlet valve. The present invention can avoid water waste and ensure toilet safety.

Abstract: A fluid displacement device (2) comprises a flexible plastics container (4). The container (4) is formed from a single sheet of PET/PE which is folded over to create a pocket, and heat sealed along the seams 8a,b,c formed by the edge of the sheet. The container (4) is substantially rectangular in shape, and measures approximately 130 mm by 200 mm. The container is placed in a toilet cistern and suspended above a bottom part thereof. Water flows into the flexible container (4) from the cistern (20) through the holes (6) and comes into contact with the water-swellable polymer. The water-swellable polymer absorbs the water and swells to approximately (400) times its original weight to displace approximately 500 ml water from the cistern (20).

Abstract: A portable and adjustable child potty is invented and described. The invention provides the perfect combination of utility, efficiency, and hygiene. The device can be adjusted to suit users of different ages and body sizes in terms of its height, width, and length. The invented device can be packaged to a Travel Size such that it takes very little space for transportation. Size adjustment and Travel size to usage size changes can be done using a series of easily adjustable locks that can be operated by hand without the use of particular tools. The device is constructed using pipes such that a length of each arm can be adjusted by moving parts of the arms with respect to each other and locking them at a preferred setting. The potty seat can also be folded and contracted to a Travel Size. The device uses a biodegradable and disposable bag to collect the waste. A particular embodiment of the device may include height adjustable arm rests and a back rest.

The sleeve member slides over the tubes and can cover the rod between the tubes. The second tube engages the macro adjustment portion for a set length when the locking device is engaged. The first tube engages the threaded insert for micro adjustment of the set length to a locked length. Each bracket device has a base body with ridges, a casing with an inner core, a lock on the side of the casing and a mount.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention is a shower rod assembly including an outer tube, a spring chamber, being housed in the attachment end of the outer tube, and inner tube with an attachment end inserted within said outer tube, and a bracket device at the opposite ends of the outer tube and inner tube for installation in an enclosure. The spring chamber has a fixed blocker in a locked position within the outer tube, a compression spring, and a mobile blocker with a removable locking pin. When the locking pin is removed, the compression spring extends to lock the outer tube and inner tube in position at a set length within the enclosure. Each bracket device has a base body with ridges, a casing with an inner core, a lock on the side of the casing and a mount.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for sacral and trochanteric support and off-loading. The system provides a ultra low pressure plenum and a positioner. The patient body size and size and corresponding surface area of the positioner control the amount of gas which is displaced evenly against the walls of the ultra low pressure plenum to allow the combination of the ultra low pressure plenum and the positioner to slightly lift a patient from a bed surface, thereby offloading the sacrum and trochanter. The positioner can be an ultra low pressure bladder.

Abstract: A child containment system includes a child containment structure that has a bottom and a perimeter wall surrounding the bottom; a bassinet that has an infant support surface and a surrounding wall around the support surface, the bassinet mounted to the child containment structure with the bottom panel elevated above the support surface; and an infant support unit that has a frame, a bed supported by the frame, and a connector structure positioned adjacent each opposed end of the infant support unit. In a first operational mode the infant support unit is removably mounted to the child containment structure with the bed overlying the support surface with each connector structure coupled to a corresponding portion of the perimeter wall. The frame is configured to support the bed above a rest surface in a second operational mode in which the infant support unit is detached from the child containment structure.

Abstract: According to certain arrangements, a conditioner mat for use with a bed assembly includes an upper layer comprising a plurality of openings, a lower layer being substantially fluid impermeable, at least one interior chamber defined by the upper layer and the lower layer and a spacer material positioned within the interior chamber. In one embodiment, the spacer material is configured to maintain a shape of the interior chamber and to help with the passage of fluids within a portion of interior chamber. The conditioner mat can be configured to releasably secure to a top of a bed assembly.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a disposable sheet with an absorbent pad comprising multiple layers. In particular, the absorbent pad of the present invention maintains skin dryness by absorbing moisture while preventing leakage to the skin or the bed linens, allowing air circulation at the surface of the patient's skin to prevent heat buildup, and is strong enough to allow the patient to be repositioned, even when the pad is wet. In a particular embodiment the first layer is comprised of a fluid-permeable, porous material, the second layer is disposed under the first layer and is comprised of at least one super absorbent material, and a base layer disposed under the second layer.

Abstract: A fitted blanket fits over a mattress and secures underneath to prevent the blanket from moving off the user while sleeping in bed. The blanket can include an elastic material on at least the underside corner edges thereof. Children and adults alike can stay warm at night as their blankets cannot fall away or off of them while sleeping. The fitted blanket may further include an opening and closing mechanism to allow for easy entry and exit, rather than having to untuck the blanket, as is the case with conventional blankets. The opening and closing mechanism may also provide an easy way to make the bed. The fitted nature of the blanket prevents blanket slippage or movement. The blanket may further include a cut-out region for pillow placement. The blanket can also include glow-in-the-dark elements or illuminated elements to light up the blanket at night.

A pivot (54) is disposed between the flap and the top for establishing rotation of the flap from the testing position to cover said top.
