A piston is supported by the piston rod and divides the volume of the compression rod to form a negative air spring chamber and a positive air spring chamber that includes the volume of the piston rod. An optional coil spring is positioned within the casing and contributes in parallel with the positive air spring chamber to resist compression of the shock assembly.

Abstract: A clutch system for closing and interrupting a force flow includes a clutch actuator that can have a pressure medium applied thereto, a first electrically actuatable valve device and a second electrically actuatable valve device. Pressure medium can be fed into a switching chamber of the clutch actuator by the first valve device for building up pressure, and pressure medium can be discharged again by the second valve device for releasing pressure. The clutch system interrupts or closes the force flow at a pressure P?Pd in the switching chamber. A method for operating the clutch system for closing and interrupting a force flow prevents a subsequent pressure buildup in the switching chamber sufficient for actuating the clutch system if the first valve device and the second valve device malfunction.

Abstract: A friction lining for a clutch disk for a frictional clutch which is manufactured from a preform article wound from strand material and subjected to a hot pressing process. Glass fibers of the friction lining are at least partially replaced by mineral fibers for minimizing abrasive behavior. The short glass fibers and other components such as aramide fibers, polyacryl nitrile fibers as well as artificial mineral fibers are processed into a non-woven fabric in a carding step and strips of the fabric, with the inclusion of at least one metal wire, are twisted to form the strand material. The strand material manufactured in this manner is impregnated with binding agent and filling agents and is processed into a preform.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide an elliptic rubber stopper supply method and device thereof, which can smoothly and steadily supply an elliptic rubber stopper to an assembling side of a rubber stopper without blocking a supply route with the rubber stopper. The elliptic rubber stopper supply device sprays alternately a gas on a rubber stopper, matches a minor axial direction of the rubber stopper to a spraying direction of the gas, and inserts the rubber stopper into an elliptic first hole in that condition. Also, the device includes first shape corrective portion for correcting a shape of the rubber stopper. The first shape corrective portion has a rubber stopper receiving portion and a pair of air outlets for spraying alternately a gas on both side surfaces of the rubber stopper. One of the air outlets is arranged on the one side of the rubber stopper receiving portion, the other is arranged on the other side thereof. Each the air outlet is offset in a rubber stopper axial direction and located.

Abstract: Non-contact, gas-ejecting bearings (3) are provided for conveying flexible glass sheets (13), such as LCD substrates, at high conveyance speeds, e.g., speeds of 40 meters/minute and above, e.g., 60 meters/minute. Gas is provided to the bearing's orifices (22) from a plenum which operates at a pressure Pplenum and the bearings have a calculated static pressure Pmidpoint at the midpoints (27) between the bearing's centermost orifice (26) and each of its nearest neighbors (28) in a horizontal direction which satisfies the relationship Pmidpoint/Pplenum?0.05. The bearings (3) can reduce the time-averaged, peak-to-peak variation in the spacing between a LCD substrate (13) traveling at, for example, 60 meters/minute and the face (20) of the bearing (3) to less than 500 microns, thus reducing the chances that the substrate (13) will hit and be damaged by the bearing (3).
