Abstract: An air conditioning system of a vehicle including a controller and sensors in communication with the controller. The sensors include an interior temperature sensor for determining the temperature of the vehicle interior and an inner surface temperature sensor for determining the temperature of the inner surface of the vehicle's windshield. The controller determines a dew-point for the vehicle interior based on the sensed interior temperature. The controller adjusts the dew-point or the inner surface temperature based on a correction value, and performs a defogging operation when the temperature of the inner surface of the windshield is less than the dew-point, wherein the dew-point or the inner surface temperature is adjusted.

  • Patent number: 8733468
Abstract: A hydraulic hammer includes a powercell housing that defines a hydraulic inlet and a hydraulic outlet. A work tool is partially received in, and movable with respect to, the powercell housing. A switching spool valve member is positioned in the powercell housing and is movable between a first position and a second position, and includes a control hydraulic surface. A sleeve/liner assembly is positioned in the powercell housing and defines a centerline. A piston with a plurality of hydraulic surfaces is positioned in the sleeve/liner assembly and is movable along the centerline between positions in and out of contact with the work tool. The control hydraulic surface of the switching spool valve member is exposed to fluid pressure in a switching passage, which includes a segment defined by the sleeve/liner assembly.

  • Patent number: 8733469
Abstract: A downhole tool comprises a pulse generator that can generate longitudinal pulses in a drill string. A poppet is longitudinally moved in and out of an orifice in the pulse generator reducing the flow of drilling mud temporarily, generating a longitudinal pulse. The longitudinal pulse generator may be combined with a conventional transverse pulse generator to create a pulse generator capable of generating pulses in both transverse and longitudinal directions.

  • Patent number: 8733471
Abstract: The present invention provides a rechargeable electric tool in which a battery pack as a power supply slides in a battery holder formed in an end part of a housing. A bag-shaped waterproof cover covering the battery pack including a coupling part between the battery holder and the battery pack is formed by two divided covers which are separated to the front and rear sides in a slide attachment direction of the battery pack. Between the two divided covers, a coupling mechanism can be moved to a coupling position or a coupling cancelling position. The coupling position is a position in which the divided covers are coupled to each other in an attached state where the coupling part and the battery pack are covered. The coupling cancelling position is a position in which coupling of the divided covers is cancelled.

  • Patent number: 8733474
Abstract: A method of drilling a well and installing a liner includes assembling concentric inner and outer strings of tubulars. A drill bit is located at the lower end of the inner string and a liner with a liner hanger makes up part of the outer string. The inner and outer strings may be rotated in unison to drill the well. A valve is located upstream of a liner hanger control tool used to release and set the liner hanger in the drill string. The valve comprises a ported sleeve that slides relative to a ported housing to meter flow from the interior of the drill string to the annular space. The redirected flow maintains a minimum flow rate in the annular space to prevent cuttings from settling on the control tool. A portion of the valve can further be used with a dart to manipulate downstream equipment.

  • Patent number: 8733475
Abstract: Disclosed is a rolling cone drill bit with inner row cutting teeth having portions shielded with an erosion-resistant material that differs in material properties from the tooth's core portion that is more impact resistant. The tooth includes shielding on at least a portion of the upstream end and along portions of the flanking surfaces. It includes shield-free portions on the flanks between the root and the tooth crest. Most of the tooth's perimeter is made of the core material and is free of shielding. Gage row teeth may be angled and form a channel to direct drilling fluid from the gage region of the borehole to locations where the inner row teeth are generating most cuttings. Nozzles are provided with non-uniform orientations.
