Abstract: Disclosed herein is a waterproof case for protecting electronic devices. The waterproof case includes a flexible waterproof bag attached to a rigid lid that can be opened to allow electronic devices to pass into the bag. When closed, the lid forms a watertight seal that protects the inside of the bag from ingress of water. The lid can include a pass-through jack which allows a user to connect an electronic device, such as an audio device, to an output through the lid. The case may also be incorporated into a flexible attachment system, such as an armband or swimbelt. Methods of connecting an electronic device to an electronic output, such as an audio output, through a waterproof case are also provided.

Abstract: A hat adapted to catch flying insects. A hat with fasteners is described that removably attaches to a backing having and adhesive layer bordered by a margin. The margin provides a place for the user to handle the device. Once the adhesive has been used to catch bugs it can be discarded. New adhesive and backing assemblies are stored in impermeable containers that are easy to store and thus are always available. Enhancements to the adhesive include the use of attractants or repellants. The adhesive and backing can be removed from the hat assembly for washing or for normal, non-insect-catching uses.

Abstract: According to the various features characteristics and embodiments of the present invention which will become apparent as the description thereof proceeds, the present invention provides partially fingered gloves and the use of said gloves, intended to increase the overall performance in sports activities including but limited to football and golf. Because of its unique finger configurations, grip enhancers, and/or its hand protective properties, the present invention makes a glove now operable on for football quarterback's throwing hand and golfers, for example.

Abstract: A sports pad is provided including an outer shell defining a pocket and a pad received and held in the pocket. A three dimensional image element is captured between said outer shell and the front face of the pad. That image element projects an image outline through the outer shell to enhance the uniform of the player wearing the sports pad.

Abstract: A pocket may be applied to an article of clothing, particularly upper body clothing such as a shirt, blouse, jacket, coat, scrubs, t-shirt, sweatshirt, hoodie, or the like. The pocket is oriented at an angle with respect to horizontal (nominal) or vertical (upright) to improve retention of a contained object such as a mobile phone or a personal digital assistant. A return is formed by stitching a partial closure along one side of the pocket, positioned at the lowest “upper” corner of the pocket (upper meaning opening end), closest to the center line of the article of clothing, on either the right or left. Knit fabrics work particularly well for retaining a weighted object such as a mobile phone despite various user movements leaning to one side or the other, forward, and even bent double whereby rendering the article of clothing in an upside down orientation.

An electronics module is configured to be removably inserted into the socket of the receptacle and contact the electrode lead. The electronics module includes a multi-component injection molded housing including a front face having a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is comprised of a relatively soft and resilient polymer material and the second portion is comprised of a relatively hard and rigid polymer material.

The athletic jersey includes a first section and a separate second section secured the first section by a plurality of sewn seams along a connection plane. Athlete indicia associated with an athlete such as the athlete's surname is provided on at least one of the first and second sections. The first section forms a first field having first team indicia of a first athletic team associated with the athlete such as colors of the first athletic team and the second section forms a second field having second team indicia of a second athletic team associated with the athlete such as colors of the second athletic team.

Abstract: An infant cover that can be affixed to the open front edges of an item of clothing, such as a coat, to provide protection against weather elements to an infant carried by the person in the front, chest area of the person. The infant cover has a main panel and a pair of side panels that are oppositely disposed and extend outwardly from the main panel. A pair of folds is formed between the main panel and the side panels. One or more affixation devices are located in each fold to affix the infant cover to the front, open edges of the coat and span the area therebetween. The infant cover provides protection to an infant carried against the chest of the person by covering the normally open space present between the front edges of the unsecured coat so as to create a protective environment for the infant.

The side closure combined with different arm closures allows the gown to be used by the patient and the medical staff in different ways. The gown can be placed onto the patient without requiring the patient to sit up. The gown can be draped over the patient like a blanket. The gown can be removed from a patient while the patient is lying down in bed. The side opening of the gown allows the gown to be placed over a patient who is lying on his back without immediately wrapping the gown around the patient's body. When the patient is up and walking, the side closure and a long waist tie provide modesty.

Abstract: A glove accessory includes a hand portion, a thumb portion and an index finger portion. The accessory is configured to be applied over a gloved hand of a user. At least one of the thumb portion or the index finger portion or both maintain a touch screen active tip that is in electrical communication with the hand portion of the glove accessory, sufficient to allow electrical contact with the skin of the wearer below a wrist of the gloved hand.

Abstract: A visor system with an easily removable cloth headpiece is disclosed. A visor is provided with clips or other attachments for receiving a fabric or sheet headpiece that covers at least the head and back of the neck of a wearer. In some embodiments, the headpiece is provided with sides that protect sides of the neck and face of the wearer. In other embodiments, a neck protector is provided that is held in place by the visor strap, and which covers the back and sides of the neck of the wearer. The headpieces may be constructed of fabric, plastic sheet material or even a thick absorbent paper material, and may have advertising or other printed material thereon.

Abstract: Methods and devices for attaching a battery to a helmet and attaching a battery to an additional device are disclosed. A battery may be mounted to the rear center of a helmet. Attaching and detaching a battery to and from a helmet may be performed with a tool or by hand. The battery may be used to power multiple devices through separate contacts, and a device may be attached to the battery while the battery mounted to a helmet. The battery also may be detached from the helmet and serve as a portable energy source.

Abstract: An improved bicycle helmet includes an inner layer having a concave shape, an outer layer having a convex shape, and a sun visor. The outer layer covers the inner layer and includes an outer layer attachment member and an outer layer lock member. The sun visor includes a shade member and a sun visor attachment member connected to and distal to the shade member. The sun visor attachment member is adapted to rotatably engage with the outer layer attachment member to form a fulcrum. The sun visor lock member is adapted to operatively engage the outer layer lock member so as to releasably lock the sun visor into a fixed position. The sun visor lock member and the outer layer lock member operatively engage so as to allow the sun visor to be releasably locked into one of a plurality of fixed positions. the sun visor attachment member and the outer layer attachment member rotatably engage via a snap fit fastener.

Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for an earring safety device that can be clipped to an ear enveloping an earring so as to protect the ear and the wearer's head from the earring during fast-paced activities. The earring safety device can enable athletes to participate in contact sports without removing the earring, especially where rules would otherwise preclude the athlete from competing. The earring safety device can also protect the wearer from snagging the earring during high-intensity activities and jobs. The protection also protects the athlete from injury due to impacts made to the earring.

Abstract: A head-protector is described herein having a shell that is dimensioned to fit on the head of a user. The shell is formed with an opening to expose the face of the user. A locking mechanism attaches a lens to the shell and allows the lens to be pivoted between an operational position in which the lens covers the opening of the shell and a stowed position. Vents are established between an edge of the lens and the shell to establish an airflow over the inside surface of the lens to reduce fogging when the head-protector is subjected to an outside airflow such as wind. The vents can include a first vent that extends across the forehead of the user between the edge of the lens and the shell and a second vent that extends across the chin of the user between the edge of the lens and the shell.

Abstract: This invention relates to headgear for protecting the wearer against facial injury, especially eye injury, and in particular eye injury caused by flying particulate matter, such as may be ejected or expelled from a work-piece, the headgear comprising a first, transparent and substantially non-porous eye-protecting membrane and a fabric wall which substantially surrounds the first membrane. The wall is preferably flexible and porous and is attached to the first membrane at its periphery so as to support the first membrane in a vision-facilitating position adjacent the eyes of a wearer in use, wherein the first membrane provides eye protection against particulate projectiles while allowing the wearer to see through it, and the wall provides protection to the wearer against ingress of particulate projectiles from around the transparent first membrane.

Abstract: Devices and methods to adjust the operation of a washing machine based on system modeling include a motor, a control board, a heater, a number of sensors, and an electronic controller. The controller receives a selected wash cycle program and determines an operating condition of the selected wash cycle program, using data from the sensors. The motor may be used as a sensor. Based on the operating condition, the controller predicts an operational parameter of the washing machine using a system model. The controller may adjust the wash cycle program to keep the operational parameter in bounds or increase efficiency. The operational parameter may be temperature, electrical current consumption, wash efficiency, or energy consumption. The wash cycle program may be adjusted by modifying the duty cycle of the motor or the heater. The system model may be recalibrated upon use to adapt to the particular characteristics of the washing machine.

Abstract: An improvement for boosting the cleaning capacity of liquid washing compositions provides for the use of a combination of one or more secondary paraffinsulfonates having 8 to 22 carbon atoms and amylase for increasing the cleaning capacity of the liquid washing compositions with respect to starch-containing stains on textiles. In accordance with the invention, it is possible to lower the amount of liquid washing composition with comparable cleaning performance, which brings environmental advantages. Moreover, it is possible to clean at low temperatures, which can reduce energy consumption.

The polymer is unexpectedly effective at low levels of use.
