Abstract: An armor plate carrier is provided to receive and adapt to different sized armor. The armor plate carrier includes a rear article, a first side connector, a second side connector, a front article, and a plurality of fasteners. The rear article includes a rear member receiving space, and the first side connector extends from a first side of the rear article. The second side connector extends from a second side of the rear article and attaches to the first side connector. The front article includes a front member receiving space and a front support section connecting to the rear article. The plurality of fasteners are positioned along opposite ends of the front article and connect to the first side connector and the second side connector respectively.

Abstract: A customizable, scalable, armor-enhanced under-clothing system is provided that conforms more substantially to the user's body, providing better ballistic protection over every critical body area in different stages as selected by the user. In one embodiment, the present invention employs compression fabric as a base material in the top (e.g., shirt) and bottom (e.g., shorts) system elements, and further can include a static fabric material harness in the top system element. Anti-ballistic panels of suitable material and thickness can be inserted into the static fabric material harness element designed to carry the panels while preventing any undesirable bouncing effect.

Abstract: A flexible bullet proof vest configured to absorb and dissipate the energy from a projectile and percussion waves is provided. In one embodiment, the bullet proof vest includes a gel substrate panel having a front surface and a rear surface opposite the front surface, and a plurality of ballistic-grade sheets stacked on the front surface of the gel substrate gel.

Abstract: Provided is mask removable type automatic shading goggles in that a welding helmet is manufactured in a goggle shape, so that it can replace the existing heavy and large welding surface; it can also used for both an arc welding work and a grinding work, a cutting work, and a gas welding work; and if necessary, the mask part can be easily attachably and detachably coupled to the goggle part.

Abstract: An apparatus for protecting the face, head, and neck of a user against hazards including an eye protector with a lower area and an upper area for protecting the eye area of a user from hazards and a face protector having at least one fastener for removably attaching the upper edge area of the face protector to the lower edge area of an eye protector. The fastener sealably fastens the area between the face protector and the eye protector so that the face area and the eye area are protected from hazards. Other configurations may be used to protect other areas of the user's body and the fasteners may be magnetic, hook and look or any other suitable type of fastener. The eye protector may also be configured with a removeably attachable lens and the one or more removably attachable light emitters positioned on the outwardly facing surface of said face protector may also be used. Systems and methods of using the apparatus are also disclosed.

Abstract: A visor for use in combination with a helmet comprising a shield and locking elements, such as snaps. The shield and locking elements are secured to an elongated rod or bar. The locking elements secure the visor to a helmet such that the visor can prevent sunlight from entering the helmet wearer's field of vision when the visor shield is in the down position. The shield can be easily lifted by the user to pivot the shield into a raised position that brings the shield out of the helmet wearer's field of vision.

Abstract: A construction for a glove or other article of clothing for use in hazardous environments is disclosed, comprising a first layer comprising a laminate that includes an inner layer comprising a woven, nonwoven, or knit material, an intermediate layer comprising a barrier to the passage therethrough of liquids that overlies the inner layer, and a thermal layer affixed to and overlying the intermediate layer in at least a portion of a bridge area. The thermal layer is approximately 0.30 mm thick. The construction also includes a second layer attached to and overlying the first layer to form an outer portion for the glove or other article of clothing. The first layer and the second layer combined provides a thermal protection performance (TPP) of at least approximately 75% greater than a reference combination of the first and the second layer that does not include the thermal layer.

Abstract: A goaltender glove including a finger portion, a thumb portion and a webbed pocket extending therebetween to collectively form a catching area. The webbed pocket can include a rigid support element that extends into at least one of the finger portion and the thumb portion, and is connected to the same via an interface element. The support element pivots about the interface element, with a free end of the element pivoting away from or through a portion of the main shell to prevent excessive bending and stress on the element. The glove can include a selectively manually replaceable mitt, which can be replaced with another mitt, or removed for servicing the mitt or glove. The mitt can be attached to the main shell via an elastic member joined with the finger portion to enable fingers in the finger portion and the mitt to move together.

Abstract: A baseball fielding glove capable of receiving a human hand is provided. The glove comprises an exterior glove shell and an interior glove liner. The glove comprises a strut in place of traditional webbing. Further, the glove's exterior shell corresponding to the palm of a wearer comprises a plurality of perforations for enhancing ventilation. The fielding glove disclosed is readily adjustable eliminating the need for a breaking-in process. A tensioning cord extending between the strut and finger/thumb stalls of the glove provide an enhanced degree of adjustable characteristics to the glove.

Abstract: A wrist band with a finger pocket and palm padding for the protection of baseball and/or softball player's palms and fingers when sliding into a base. The wrist band comprises a tubular portion worn around the wrist. Extending from the tubular portion is a palm portion that extends into a finger portion. The palm portion comprises padding for a player's palm. The palm portion and/or the finger portion is reinforced with an abrasion-resistant material and/or protective plates.

Abstract: A goaltender leg pad providing profile adjustment, toe attachment and/or toe thickness adjustment. The leg pad can include an adjuster element that configures adjacent pads at a user selected angle or configuration to provide a desired front profile of the leg pad. The leg pad can include an optionally elastic toe attachment strap joined with a foot pad and/or boot, and a redirection element slidably engaging the strap. The strap can secure the foot pad to the user's skate, and generally centrally locate the foot pad over the user's skate when the user transitions to a standing position and/or a crouching position. The leg pad can include a foot pad configured to engage the top of a user's skate. The foot pad can define a cavity within which a secondary pad can be selectively installed or removed to alter the toe thickness of the foot pad and provide desired performance.

Abstract: Aspects hereof relate to protective gear that is comfortable and supportive. The protective gear is a knitted or woven sleeve with impact-dampening pads of different shapes and sizes placed in strategic areas of the sleeve to provide protection to a foot and ankle area of an athlete's foot. In particular, the impact-dampening pads are placed on areas of the sleeve corresponding to a lower shin portion, a medial and lateral malleolus, and the Achilles tendon of an athlete wearing the protective gear.

Abstract: A leg pad for a hockey goalkeeper playing hockey (e.g., ice hockey) is provided. The leg pad comprises a frontal portion, a medial portion, and a lateral portion respectively configured to be positioned adjacent to a front, a medial side, and a lateral side of a goalkeeper's leg when the leg pad is worn on the leg. The leg pad comprises an outer shell comprising an outer surface of the leg pad, an inner liner for facing the leg, and protective padding disposed between the molded outer shell and the inner liner. The outer shell may comprise molded foam.

Abstract: A detachable sweat absorbing liner includes a left sweat absorbing liner and a right sweat absorbing liner. The left sweat absorbing liner is removably attached with an inner frontal left neckline of an upper garment by a left fastening mechanism, and the right sweat absorbing liner is removably attached with an inner frontal right neckline of the upper garment by a right fastening mechanism. The left sweat absorbing liner and the right sweat absorbing liner include a moisture-sensitive medication, where the moisture-sensitive medication protects and improves the user's facial area upon the use of the sweat absorbing liner and the right sweat absorbing liner.

Abstract: A telemetrically enhanced article of clothing comprises a fabric layer having an inside surface and an outside surface. A sensor is attached to the inside surface of the fabric layer such that when the article of clothing is worn by the user, the sensor is in contact with the user's skin. An electrically conductive trace may extend along the fabric layer and may be electrically connected at a first end to the sensor. A retaining ring may be adhered to the fabric layer near a second end of the electrically conductive trace. The retaining ring is capable of receiving a telemetry device and forming a compression connection between the perimeter of the telemetry device and the retaining ring such that when the telemetry device is received in the retaining ring, the second end of the electrically conductive trace is in electrical contact with the telemetry device. The telemetry device may store, process, or transmit physiological and/or other data collected by a sensor.

Abstract: A method for creating rainwear that is waterproof yet allows the body's heat and moisture to vent is disclosed, including a shell and a liner, wherein the shell material is waterproof, and the liner material is waterproof and may or may not be breathable and vents placed at intervals in the fabric of the liner that allow for free air flow between the interior and exterior of the garment to achieve breathability by virtue of the vents. The garment may be made of materials that are inherently flame resistant for use where there is a danger of flash fire, such as high-voltage electrical work and petroleum production. In some embodiments, vents are inserted within apertures defined by a garment and include a base with inner and outer ridges surrounding a central opening and a cover having a perimeter extending between the inner and outer ridges.

Abstract: A safety garment is provided for enhancing visibility to persons in dark conditions. The garment includes a front section covering the upper chest, extending to a rear section covering the upper back, and sleeves in varying lengths extending to cover the arms. The garment is preferably open in the underarm area. The base of the garment is preferably comprised of lightweight non-reflective fabric and is coupled with reflective fabric extending the length of the garment, providing 360 degrees of high visibility.

Abstract: A garment or article of apparel such as a shirt or jacket that includes a concealed pocket ideal for holding eyewear or other narrow items such as a pen. Each access fitting is configured and adapted to accommodate access to skin of the subject adjacent a muscle group to be monitored by a sensor unit external to the torso portion, such that at least a portion of the sensor unit remains external to the torso portion with the sensor unit accessing the skin via the access fitting.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is a garment wearable by an infant for assisting a caregiver in carrying the infant. The garment comprises a bodysuit for an infant where the bodysuit provides grip areas for assisting a caregiver in carrying an infant. The article has at least one grip area having a frictional material, such as an elastomer, applied to the grip area to create a frictional surface extending above the outside surface of the article. The frictional surface is in contact with a caregiver to resist the relative motion of the infant with respect to the grip area.

The second item dissipates moisture and heat that has been dissipated by the first item.

Abstract: A method for creating rain wear that is completely waterproof yet allows the body's heat and moisture to vent so that the wearer doesn't become wet from the inside said method comprising: a two part system, a shell and a liner, wherein the shell material is waterproof, and the liner material is waterproof and may or may not be breathable and vents placed at intervals in the fabric of the liner that allow for free air flow between the interior and exterior of the garment to achieve breathability by virtue of the vents. Abstract: A garment for assisting a mother in breastfeeding a child includes a shirt body having front and rear portions with a common upper edge defining a neck. A sash depends from within the shirt body and underlies the neck. The sash is below the neck and is moveable to provide access for to the breast for breastfeeding activity. The garment is arrangeable in a normal configuration, in which the sash is concealed from view, and a breastfeeding configuration, in which the neck and the sash cooperate to define a narrow slit which is sized to closely reveal a nipple therethrough for breastfeeding.

Abstract: The present invention provides a glove comprises a main body adapted to receive a wearer's hand and a wrist cuff suspended over the main body. The main body further comprises a plurality of finger parts and a back hand part. The back hand part comprises a first protective panel hingedly connected at one end to the main body so that the first protective panel is suspend over the main body and slidably overlapped with a second protective panel. As the first protective panel slides over the second protective panel following the bending action of the fingers, a coordinated movement of the hand can be achieved. The second protective panel is also hingedly connected to the main body suspended over the main body and the wrist cuff, which allows for more coordinated rotating movement of the hand and the wrist following the bending action of the fingers.

Abstract: A glove including a wrist region, a palm region, and digit regions. A band zone is defined in a back surface of one or more digit regions and grippingly engages a back of the user's digit received in that region. The band zone includes C-shaped elastomeric bands disposed at right angles to a longitudinal axis of the digit region. Each band extends around less than one half of the circumference of the digit region. The band zone extends from proximate the palm region to an area disposed adjacent a nail of the user's digit. A smooth zone is provided in a surface of the digit region opposite the band zone. The smooth zone is free of elastomeric bands and contacts a front surface of the user's digit. This configuration aids in gripping the user's digit while preserving tactile sensitivity therein when the glove is used for long periods of time.

Abstract: A head band comprises a band portion and a tightening portion. The band portion has a first band and a second band, wherein an outer surface of the first band opposes an inner surface of the second band. The head band further comprises at least one spacer between the first and the second band forming a gap between the first band and the second band. The tightening portion has a strap and a tightener configured to tighten the strap, wherein the strap is hingedly connected at approximately each end of the band portion. Other embodiments of the head band, and visors, caps, and hats incorporating the head band, are described herein.

Abstract: Lighted headgear, and more particularly lighted earwear such as earmuffs or headphones, is provided herein that are configured to mount or secure to a user's head while providing light forwardly thereof. The lighted headgear includes ear engaging or covering assemblies, which can be connected by a headband or other crown portion. The ear covering assemblies can include one or more light sources mounted thereto or can have a light module secured thereto to provide a user with hands-free lighting.

Abstract: Paper-based hats and methods for making same are disclosed. For example, a visor component and a crown component may be obtained from at least one paper-based material, such as a paper-based beverage carton. A crown-visor structure may be formed by affixing at least a portion of a non-exposed surface of the crown component to at least a portion of an upper portion of an exposed surface of the visor component. A band may be affixed to at least a portion of the crown-visor structure to support the paper-based visor on a head of a wearer of the paper-based hat. The visor component and/or the crown component may include images that were printed on the source paper-based material that are visible to an observer of the paper-based hat being worn by a wearer thereof.

Abstract: The invention relates to a head covering such as a tiara having a display element attached thereon which may be easily interchanged by the user to increase the versatility of the head covering and allow the user to switch in display elements having varying shapes and sizes. Abstract: A snap-fit eyelet cover configured for insertion through an eyelet opening to decorate an eyelet on footwear, garments, and the like. The eyelet cover includes a neck formed of a material sufficiently resilient to fit through an eyelet opening and thereafter expand to bear against the eyelet and retain the eyelet cover in position. The eyelet cover further includes a crown extending radially outward from the neck, the crown having a top surface that may be decorated with any number of patterns, shapes, colors, or other decorative features as desired. A bore extends in an axial direction through the neck and the crown to provide an interior passage for threading a shoe lace or other material.

Abstract: One non-limiting embodiment of the present invention includes an athletic garment comprising a garment configured to snugly fit a torso wherein the garment has a front portion and a rear portion. The athletic garment further comprises a pocket secured to the rear portion of the garment providing a pocket for containing items therein. The pocket comprises a secured portion and a hanging portion wherein the secured portion is secured to the garment and the hanging portion is not secured to the garment.

An example pocket includes an opening with a pocket bag extending from the opening within an inner portion of the garment, the pocket bag including an inner material portion and an outer material portion with connecting means fixedly connecting a first region of the inner material portion and a first region of the outer material portion to divide the pocket bag into a first compartment and a second compartment, the connecting means extending substantially upwards from a bottom portion of the pocket bag.
