Abstract: A sensor includes a linear array of sensitive photodetectors each forming part of an associated pixel circuit. The pixel circuits accumulate photo-generated charge from their photodetectors simultaneously but with different gains for different pixels. Each pixel circuit comprises an operational amplifier arranged to integrate a photocurrent received from the photodetector over a sampling interval that is substantially the same for all pixels. The gain of each pixel circuit is made variable over time by switching one or more capacitors in and out of the integrating circuit. In one embodiment a gain selection signal is written into each pixel circuit during a data read-out cycle. In another embodiment, the gain of each pixel varies automatically in response to data obtained from the pixel in a previous cycle. Several similar sensors are used to detect touch positions in a touch screen input device.

The early generation display is replaced with the later generation display. The display device includes software which receives graphic data through the video output port and identifies which frame is currently being streamed. The display device matches the frame being streamed to a stored graphic frame having a higher resolution and/or color. The matched frame is delivered to the later generation device so that the user can experience a higher quality visual effect by retrofitting the older electronic device with the later generation display.

Abstract: Embodiments of a system and methods for presenting alternate visual presentations of physical objects on display devices are generally described herein. In some embodiments, a device may discover a set of objects present in an environment, each object in the set supporting at least one alternate visual presentation of the object. The device, or the user of the device, may then choose an object from the set of discovered objects, and choose at least one alternate visual presentation associated with the chosen object. The device may then display to the user the chosen alternate visual presentations of the chosen object.

Abstract: A target animation includes a blend of two or more animations from a plurality of predetermined animations. The blend includes a weighted combination of the two or more animations based on respective blend weights. In a method of generating a target animation of a virtual object, an input identifying a first point, specifying the target animation, in a control parameter space is received. A second point corresponding to the first point is determined using a predetermined displacement function. A barycentric coordinate for the second point in the control parameter space is determined. The barycentric coordinate is defined relative to predetermined points in the control parameter space, each predetermined point corresponding either to a respective one of the two or more animations or a respective blend of the two or more animations. The blend weights for the two or more animations are based on the barycentric coordinate for the second point.

Abstract: An example of an information processing system presents information together with a virtual space such that the information is associated with a position within the virtual space. The information processing system displays some of pieces of presentation information associated with positions within the virtual space, in a first display region. The presentation information displayed in the first display region is changed in accordance with an input by a user. The information processing system selects some of the plurality of pieces of presentation information. In this case, the presentation information to be selected is changed in accordance with change of a display of the presentation information in the first display region. The information processing system displays, in a second display region different from the first display region, the selected presentation information together with the virtual space such that the selected presentation information is associated with positions within the virtual space.
