Publication number: 20140305016Abstract: An improvised guide rod assembly for semiautomatic firearms is provided for adjusting the tensile force on a spring internal to the firearm. The assembly included a guide member distending distally from the firearm's forward components, creates a tension in the mechanical workings of the firearm during discharge, and enhances accuracy, bullet velocity, and defensive functionality. A guide rod positions inside a firearm guide channel, protruding outside the firearm from a distal end. The guide member passes through a similarly sized and dimensioned spring. Tension on the spring transfers to an adjacent firearm slide member, whereby during discharge of the firearm, the slide member meets resistance while in motion. Using the adjustable guide rod to realize spring resistance increases, the velocity of a bullet is improved as is control of the firearm after recoil. The guide rod also serves as a close proximity weapon.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 16, 2013Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventor: Michael Cusano

Publication number: 20140305017Abstract: A method and system for preventing the firing of a gun comprises a component on the gun for preventing the gun from being fired, for example, preventing the trigger from being pulled when the gun is in an area that has a wireless power sending source configured to send power to the component for firing prevention. There is no need for a battery on the gun or the transfer of any information between the component and the wireless power sending source, the power being emitted from the source and received by the component controls the firing capability.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2014Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventor: Terry Ladell TRAVIS

Publication number: 20140305018Abstract: A gun lock includes engagement structure for engaging the firing mechanism to prevent operation of the firearm. A plurality of rotatable ratchet wheels are provided and a combination disk is engaged to, disengageable from, and rotatable with an associated ratchet wheel. Movable cage structure includes a plurality of keys and each combination disk has an associated key-way, the keys being moveable into the key-ways upon the movement of the ratchet wheels and associated combination disk to an unlocking position. A combination-entering member is associated with each ratchet wheel. A combination-changing member is operable to disengage the combination disks from the ratchet wheels to permit relative movement there between, and thereby relative movement of the key-way of the combination disk relative to the initial position of the associated ratchet wheel to effect changing of the combination of operations of the combination-entering members required to unlock the lock and operate the firearm.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2014Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventor: Eugene Victor Horanoff

Publication number: 20140305019Abstract: A forearm for a firearm that includes a magnesium alloy body. The forearm can be adapted for use in a modular rifle having both an upper receiver securable to a barrel and a lower receiver housing a trigger assembly. The magnesium body may also be nickel plated and have a ceramic coating on the nickel plating. Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing a forearm having a magnesium alloy body. The magnesium alloy body may be formed by extrusion or by thixotropic molding. In some embodiments, the magnesium forearm includes an outer sleeve formed out of a magnesium alloy and an inner sleeve formed out of a different material.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 8, 2013Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventor: William Carr King, JR.

Publication number: 20140305020Abstract: A firearm camera mount for securing a camera to a distal end of a firearm is disclosed. A fastening member is configured to be fastened to the distal end of the firearm. A support member is fixed to the fastening member. The support member defines a bracket. A camera support is releasably securable to the bracket and securable to a camera. Thus, when the camera support is secured to the bracket and a camera, the camera support cooperates with the support member and the fastening member to maintain at least one shooting direction of the camera along a shooting direction of the firearm.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 3, 2014Publication date: October 16, 2014Applicant: Capture Your Hunt, LLCInventors: Jason Baggett, Chris Stites

Publication number: 20140305021Abstract: A hinged mounting assembly for use in connection with a gun-mounted light accessory is disclosed. The assembly has a light source disposed within a housing and a rail clamp connected to the housing. The rail clamp has a fixed clamp member attached to the housing and a hinged clamp member pivotally attached to the housing. The static clamp member and the hinged clamp member are disposed on opposite sides of the housing. A vertically moveable adjustment tab is attached to a first clamp post end. The adjustment tab has a cylindrical member with a lower half that is planar and an upper half that is arcuate. A vertically and horizontally adjustment tab is attached to a second clamp post end. The second adjustment tab also has a lower half that is planar and an upper half that is arcuate.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 13, 2014Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventor: Jaime Prieto

Publication number: 20140305023Abstract: A sighting device replicates the spread pattern of pellets exiting the barrel of a shotgun. The sighting device includes a light source (preferably a laser) and a power source connectable to the light source. The device may also include a mount to attach the sighting device to a shotgun. The sighting device preferably projects a circular pattern of individual light beams wherein the circumference of the circular pattern increases as the light beams move farther from the sighting device to replicate the spread of shotgun pellets. The sighting device may also project a beam of light in the center of the pattern.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 26, 2014Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventors: Larry E. Moore, Aaron Moore

Publication number: 20140305024Abstract: This disclosure relates to an apparatus for mounting a camera onto a firearm and an associated device for capturing images and recordings of a firearm target. The apparatus allows for easy attachment of cameras of varying sizes onto the scope of a firearm and along the same longitudinal axis of the scope. The apparatus comprises a sleeve connected to a scope of a firearm, the sleeve being hallow and having a longitudinal axis longitudinal axis forming an unobstructed axial bore and generally coaxial with a longitudinal axis of the scope; a base member with a hole and adapted to receive a camera with the hole of the base member positioned adjacent to the lens of the camera and the longitudinal axis of the camera lens is generally coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the scope.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2014Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventor: Robert Russell

Publication number: 20140305025Abstract: A dynamic ballistic effect compensating reticle and an aim compensation method for use in rifle sights or projectile weapon aiming systems includes a multiple point elevation and windage aim point field including a primary aiming mark indicating a primary aiming point adapted to be sighted-in at a first selected range (e.g., 200 yds) and a plurality sloped secondary aiming point arrays beneath the primary aiming mark. The method for compensating for a projectile's ballistic behavior while developing a field expedient firing solution permits the shooter to express the field expedient firing solution in units of distance, (e.g., yards or meters, when describing or estimating range and nominal air density ballistic characteristics), and angular offset of azimuth (e.g., MILS or MOA) for crosswind jump corrected windage hold points.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 16, 2014Publication date: October 16, 2014Inventor: G.
