Abstract: The present invention involves a fabrication of ventilation-fan-ammonia-gas-removal-device and dual-function-ammonia-gas-removal-and-air-cooling-equipment for application to livestock confined facilities. The former is installed on the wall of livestock confined facilities to remove ammonia gas from ventilating air and the latter is installed inside the livestock confined facilities to remove ammonia gas and to cool air, suspending from the ceiling of livestock confined facilities. They are fabricated by assembling several plastic-rod-screen-fills which are made with plastic rods. Water supplied from the top of devices, flowing down on the surface of rods, cools air or absorbs ammonia gas and water vapor by contacting with air traveling transversely to the descent of water on the surface of plastic rods by means of forced draft.

Abstract: The present seed spacing and planting device consists of a planar member with a plurality of sidewalls having beveled edges extending vertically therefrom, with an integral or removable grid. A plurality of evenly spaced pegs or apertures are disposed along the face of the base, aligned with said sidewalls. The present device is pressed into the ground, edges downwards, to create a plurality of depressions for planting either seeds or seedlings therein. For embodiments having pegs, the pegs automatically create the depressions because they are pressed into the soil along with the beveled edges. For embodiments having apertures, a dibble is additionally provided which is pushed through said apertures for creating the planting depressions.

Abstract: An improved boat hull design includes a region of ellipsodal fulness in the forward portion of the hull, ellipsiodal curvature over the remainder of the hull, a chine with a chine flat with an increasing width as it approaches the stern and one or more strakes. One of the strakes is located where the chine flat meets the V portion of the hull. The hull provides stability and a smooth ride at both high and low speeds in smooth and rough water and is highly maneuverable. The hull also has good weight carrying ability at speed while not requiring excessive power. The hull minimizes rolling when stationary or at low speed in waves.

Abstract: An improved autopilot system securely attached to a steering helm unit and mounted within the dashboard or pedestal of a marine vessel for automatic control over a vessel's direction of movement. One embodiment of an improved actuator utilizes endless belt members 212, a driven pulley 210 attached to a steering shaft extension 208 passing through an axial bore in a back wall of a steering helm unit 52, a drive pulley 206 to impart mechanical power to endless belt members 212, and a tensioning pulley 306 connected to a clutch unit for controlling belt tension. A control box 58 provides electrical control over drive pulley 206 and clutch unit using motors. A time varying rotational position of driven pulley 210 is measured, from which a vessel's attempted steering direction can be deduced. The measurement of electrical current during clutch unit engagement and disengagement, can be used to gauge and control belt tension. A manual emergency override complements failsafe nature of clutch unit.

Abstract: A mooring apparatus that includes an actuator connected to a mooring hook and the mooring base. The actuator provides translational movement of the mooring hook towards the mooring base. The mooring apparatus also includes a vessel motion detection system and a mooring apparatus control system. The mooring apparatus may include a mooring line tension gauge. The vessel motion detection system provides an input indicative of vessel motion to the mooring apparatus control system. The mooring apparatus control system then provides an output signal to the appropriate mooring system(s) which results in adjustment of the mooring line tension in the appropriate mooring system(s). Methods for use thereof thereof are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods for forming an epilayer on a surface of a substrate are generally provided. For example, a substrate can be positioned within a hot wall CVD chamber (e.g., onto a susceptor within the CVD chamber). At least two source gases can then be introduced into the hot wall CVD chamber such that, upon decomposition, fluorine atoms, carbon atoms, and silicon atoms are present within the CVD chamber. The epilayer comprising SiC can then be grown on the surface of the substrate in the presence of the fluorine atoms.
