Abstract: Provided is a pressure vessel able to sustain a circular shape without deforming to ellipsoidal shape due to machining of side port apertures therein, and maintain pressures as high as 800-1,200 PSI. The pressure vessel is intended for use in seawater desalination by reverse osmosis, and comprises a pipe body (1) formed by filament winding (FW), and is furnished with an occluding cover (2) at each end of the pipe body (1), the peripheral surface of the pipe body being furnished, inward from the occluding covers (2), with inflow/outflow parts (3) through which the fluid flows in or out. The pipe body (1) is constituted by a helical layer (4), hoop layers, and a seal layer (6) furnished as the innermost layer. The helical layer (4) is furnished with a divergent part (7) diverging away from the seal layer (6) and extending from a location outward from the occluding cover (2) to a location inward from the inflow/outflow part (3).

Abstract: A beverage container closure or lid that is adapted for closing an open end of a beverage container. The lid is selectively couplable to the beverage container and includes a selectively openable stopper that when closed, creates a fluid-tight seal between the beverage container and the environment. The stopper may be selectively opened by a user by the user pressing a button disposed on a side of the beverage container closure. The stopper is subsequently automatically closed when the user releases the button. Thus, a user may open and close the beverage container closure using a single hand without the need to remove the beverage container closure from the beverage container.

Abstract: An insulated sleeve for a container is disclosed. A flat rectangular strip of flexible, thermal insulating material having high elastic properties has a pair of opposing side surfaces defined by a pair of parallel, opposing end edges that are contiguous with a pair of opposing parallel side edges. The end edges are adorned with an over edge stitch and side edges are butted together and attached creating a cylindrical open ended sleeve constructed with one flat seam running the length of sleeve. In use, the sleeve assumes the shape of a cylindrical frustum for fitting tightly over the sidewall of a multitude of containers of various shapes and sizes.

The handle is configured with a predetermined combination of convex and concave curvatures that combine in such a way as to mimic a curvature of a user's palm along an area of contact of the palm with the handle, as well as to mimic a curvature of a user's fingers when curled to grip the handle along an area of contact of the fingers with the handle, when a user grips the handle. In addition, implementations of the handle in combination with a container or implement can include a thumb rest that is specifically configured to engage a thumb of a user in a neutral posture thumb position when gripping the handle.

Abstract: A hinged closure lid made of plastic for placing onto a container, has a main part which has a dispenser opening, a lid which is mounted pivotably on the main part and, in a closure position resting on the main part, closes the dispenser opening, and an actuating part which is connected integrally to the main part and is mounted thereon so as to be adjustable between an inoperative position and an actuating position. The lid can be adjusted from the closure position in the direction of an open position when the actuating part is in the actuating position. The actuating part here is connected to the main part via at least one flexible web serving as a predetermined breaking point, the web is destroyed when the actuating part is first adjusted into the actuating position.

The electric circuit has a switch for switching the current on or off, through respective first and second operations of an operating element. The switch has a first switch contact and a second switch contact, which are connected in parallel in the electric circuit. The first switch contact is brought into a closed state by the first operation of the operating element, and assumes an open state after the second operation. The control unit provides a control signal so that the second switch contact is closed after the first operation of the switch and opened after the second operation of the switch.

Abstract: A dispenser dispenses a consumable product from a container. The container is supported within a housing by a container holder. The container holder is vertically moveable within a movement range in the housing. A biasing structure biases the container holder upwardly. A sign is connected to move up and down with the container holder. An indicator associated with the sign is vertically fixed relative to the housing. When an amount of product remaining in the container reaches a low level, the biasing force of the biasing structure will lift the container holder, causing the indicator to be aligned with a portion of the sign that gives a visual cue to a user that the amount of product remaining is at a low level.

Abstract: A system for dispensing a beverage includes a conical inner sleeve configured to receive a mixture of beverage components, a first blade, and a blade arm. An outer shell receives the first blade, blade arm, and the inner sleeve. A top couples the inner sleeve and outer shell in a fixed position. A tap module includes a tap handle and a tap control. The tap handle restricts and allows beverage flow through a beverage port. The tap control detects whether the tap handle is in a first position or a second position. The tap control prevents a motor from operation while the tap handle is in the first position and engages the motor while the tap handle is in the second position.

Abstract: A dispenser for dispensing fluent products by twisting a flexible bag which contains the fluent product. Enforcing outflow of the fluent product is based on reducing the bag's volume by twisting the bag. The bag ends are connected to a container composed of two concentric cylindrical parts which enable twisting the bag by rotating one part with respect to the other. Flexible fins and ramp grooves of the parts implement a rotational ratchet mechanism which also allows for bag contraction during twisting. The ratchet mechanism enables accurate control of outflow and also keeps the bag in the last twisted pose it arrives to when the user stops twisting. The bag is connected to the two container parts by two butterfly nuts which enable easy manual bag replacement. The bag's nozzle is equipped with means for opening and shutting the product outflow.

Abstract: A method for folding a liner for packaging and/or insertion into an overpack. The method may include providing a liner comprising a substantially tubular body portion and a closed top and bottom, and a fitment formed in or affixed to the top of the liner, forming a gusset in the bottom panel of the liner, forming a gusset in the body portion of the liner, and fan-folding the liner. In some embodiments, the top of the liner may be a substantially circular top panel and the bottom of the liner may be a substantially circular bottom panel, with the top panel being attached to one end of the tubular body portion and the bottom panel being attached to an opposite end of the tubular body portion. In other embodiments, the liner may be a flexible, blow molded liner, thereby having no weld seams.

The container holder is vertically movable within a movement range in the housing. A biasing structure biases the container holder upwardly. A sign is connected to move up and down with the container holder. An indicator associated with the sign is vertically fixed relative to the housing. When an amount of product remaining in the container reaches a low level, the biasing force of the biasing structure will lift the container holder, causing the indicator to be aligned with a portion of the sign that gives a visual cue to a user that the amount of product remaining is at a low level.

The water transfer passage is configured such that the recessed surface portion deflects the flow of water flowing down through the water transfer passage in a horizontal direction or a direction close to a horizontal direction. Water is thus discharged from the terminal end opening defined by the distal edge and the edge portion into the lower portion of the cold water tank in a direction close to a horizontal direction.

The dispensing cap and the metering drum include formations to index a position of the metering drum.

Squeezing opposite sides of the outer skirt drives portions of the inner skirt inward as well. However, as the inner skirt is oblong, this also causes other intermediate regions of the inner skirt to bulge outwardly. These intermediate regions are designed to otherwise latch onto the can, and thus this squeezing helps release the carrier from the can. There may also be a secondary catch between the bottom of the outer skirt and the can, as well as a positive stop along an inner side of the outer skirt.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for scribing and breaking a glass substrate and related device. The method includes: scribing the glass substrate to form a scribing notch; making a transmission medium of supersonic waves contact the scribing notch; transmitting supersonic waves to the scribing notch via the transmission medium to break the scribed glass substrate under an effect of supersonic waves. The present invention adjusts the frequency of the supersonic waves to make the frequency close to the natural frequency of the scribing notch such that they resonate together. Therefore, the resonation force is uniformly applied on all scribing notch. Therefore, this resonation force can break the scribed glass substrate along the scribing notch beautifully without any damages on the scribing notch and terminals.

Abstract: An apparatus for determining an optimal amount of tissue compression for applying a surgical element to tissue is disclosed. The apparatus includes a device for compressing tissue which supports a measuring device adapted to detect a tissue parameter upon the compression of tissue. The measuring device communicates with an indicator. Upon compressing tissue, when the measuring device determines that the compressed tissue parameter reaches a predetermined threshold, the measuring device sends a signal to the indicator such that the indicator provides an indication to a surgeon that the threshold has been reached. The measuring device may include a load cell and the tissue parameter may be a viscoelastic reactive force of the tissue per unit time.

Abstract: A production method includes a rolling step of obtaining a laminated plate by clad rolling first and second metallic plates in a superposed manner at a rolling reduction of 25% to 85%, a surface activation treatment step of subjecting at least joint scheduled surfaces of the laminated plate 20 and a third metallic plate 3 to a surface activation treatment in vacuum, and a cold pressure welding step of, after performing the surface activation treatment, in vacuum, cold pressure welding the laminated plate 20 and the third metallic plate 3 in a superposed manner that the joint scheduled surfaces thereof are in contact with each other by and between a pair of pressure rolls 44 and 44 so that a rolling reduction becomes 0.1% to 15%.
