Abstract: A new and distinct variety of shrub rose plant is provided which forms in abundance on a substantially continuous basis attractive semi-double blossoms that are orange to apricot with red coloration toward the center of the blossoms. The vegetation is vigorous and strong and the growth habit is upright and bushy. Attractive ornamental glossy dark green foliage is formed. The plant is particularly well suited for growing in a Western landscape. Distinctive ornamentation is provided.

Abstract: A tactile sensor includes a photosensing structure, a volume of elastomer capable of transmitting an image, and a reflective skin covering the volume of elastomer. The reflective skin is illuminated through the volume of elastomer by one or more light sources, and has particles that reflect light incident on the reflective skin from within the volume of elastomer. The reflective skin is geometrically altered in response to pressure applied by an entity touching the reflective skin, the geometrical alteration causing localized changes in the surface normal of the skin and associated localized changes in the amount of light reflected from the reflective skin in the direction of the photosensing structure. The photosensing structure receives a portion of the reflected light in the form of an image, the image indicating one or more features of the entity producing the pressure.

The apparatus calculates adjusting levels Fz1, Fz2, and Fe from the variation time count and the variation using a definition unit which defines correspondence among the variation time count, the variation, and the adjusting levels, and applies an adjusting process to a signal value of the pixel to be processed by the calculated adjusting levels.

Abstract: A seismic exploration method and unit comprised of continuous recording, self-contained wireless seismometer units or pods. The self-contained unit may include a tilt meter, a compass and a mechanically gimbaled clock platform. Upon retrieval, seismic data recorded by the unit can be extracted and the unit can be charged, tested, re-synchronized, and operation can be re-initiated without the need to open the unit's case. The unit may include an additional geophone to mechanically vibrate the unit to gauge the degree of coupling between the unit and the earth. The unit may correct seismic data for the effects of crystal aging arising from the clock. Deployment location of the unit may be determined tracking linear and angular acceleration from an initial position. The unit may utilize multiple geophones angularly oriented to one another in order to redundantly measure seismic activity in a particular plane.

Abstract: In an OFDM transmission a transmission diversity technique is used without orthogonal signaling. The phases of the subcarriers received at the different antennas are compared by different techniques and then the phases of the signals for different antennas are adjusted for a subsequent transmission over the OFDM interface. The phase (and optionally amplitude) adjustment is calculated in only one (transmitting) side and no orthogonal signaling required. The number of antennas can be increased as much as necessary to get a sharper beam. The negative effects of fading and interference can be reduced so that at same time a down link transmission power can be reduced.

The DVD recording apparatus records images on a DVD in video format when the DVD is loaded on a DVD drive. The cell-by-cell edition method comprises recording the image on the DVD and temporarily storing cell information in relation to a plurality of cells constituting the image; displaying a representative image of the plurality of cells on a graphical user interface (GUI) which is connected to the DVD recording apparatus; and creating navigation data using the cell information when a user edits the plurality of cells while viewing the representative image, and storing the created navigation data on the DVD. A digital versatile disc (DVD) recording apparatus and a cell-by-cell edition method using the same are provided. The DVD recording apparatus records images on a DVD in video format when the DVD is loaded on a DVD drive.

Abstract: The present invention relates generally to molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs). If no comparison match is made, then execution of the instruction that was accessed by the program counter is executed.

Abstract: In accordance with the present invention, there is provided a garment or undergarment (e.g., a T-shirt) which is provided with integrated multi-layer perspiration barriers uniquely configured to provide high levels of evaporative cooling and moisture vapor transmission. The perspiration barriers are integrated into the sleeve and torso portions of the garment such that such perspiration barriers actually define the underarm portions thereof. Each of the perspiration barriers is preferably comprised of four layers, each of which is formed from two separate panel pieces. The various layers included in each of the perspiration barriers, the manner in which such layers are stacked upon and attached to each other, and the manner in which the layers forming each perspiration barrier are integrated into the garment are specifically adapted to collectively promote evaporative cooling and a vapor transmission effect which provides superior perspiration absorption and evaporation, in addition to enhanced user comfort.

Abstract: A helmet having blunt force trauma protection includes a prior art helmet and a replaceable impact layer. The replaceable impact layer preferably includes at least one air bubble layer, a removable attachment system and an outer layer of sheet material. The at least one air bubble layer includes a plurality of air bubbles created between two plastic sheets. Each bubble will burst upon a pre-determined impact. The plurality of bubbles preferably have a hexagon shape, but other shapes may also be used, such as round or square. The removable attachment system is preferably hook and loop fasteners, but other suitable removable attachment systems may also be used. At least one first pad of hook and loop fasteners is attached to an exterior surface of a prior art helmet and at least one second pad of hook and loop fasteners is attached to a bottom surface of the replaceable impact layer.
