Abstract: A protective sports glove including a vent opening and an arched panel extending upward and over the vent opening. The glove can include a breathable material that extends across the vent opening to provide improved air flow to and from the interior of the glove. The arched panel can arch above the vent opening, and optional breathable material, so as to form a void under the panel, thereby providing impact protection to the wearer's hand while still enabling air to circulate through the vent opening to the wearer's hand. The arched panel can be configured to flex or bend when the hand is brought back toward the wearer's wrist or forearm, yet provide resistance to that backward movement to eliminate and/or reduce the overextension of the hand and wrist.

Abstract: A glove useful for mixed martial arts fighting has padded knuckles for the four non-opposed fingers, with the lower half of each of the fingers not enclosed. The palm of the glove is open, and the thumb is not covered. The glove has an inner pair of attachment straps closable across each other over the wrist, and installed over the attachment straps is a closable outer support or stability strap that wraps around the wrist. Both the attachment straps and the support strap are preferably closable through use of a hook and loop fastening means such as Velcro®.

Abstract: Methods of forming garments having one or more stretchable conductive ink patterns. Described herein are method of making garments (including compression garments) having one or more highly stretchable conductive ink pattern formed of a composite of an insulative adhesive, a conductive ink, and an intermediate gradient zone between the adhesive and conductive ink. The conductive ink typically includes between about 40-60% conductive particles, between about 30-50% binder; between about 3-7% solvent; and between about 3-7% thickener. The stretchable conductive ink patterns may be stretched more than twice their length without breaking or rupturing.

Abstract: A sectionalized over-garment which is convertible for appropriate climatic adaptation during extended outdoor use includes a vest section and a skirt section. The vest section includes a front body opening, as well as arm holes and a pair of access holes respectively located between an arm hole and the front opening. Importantly, the user can manipulate the open/close function for each hole/opening from inside the vest section. As a parka, the vest section includes a hood. The skirt section can be engaged with the vest section to establish a full body over-garment. And, alone, the skirt section can function as a small tent or shelter. When a panel is deployed from the bottom of the skirt section to cover the feet, and with the opening and holes of the vest section closed, the over-garment functions as a sleeping bag.

Abstract: An innovative sleeping suit for infants, configured to provide warmth, a contained environment, and positive proprioceptive input, and thereby reduce neurological reflexive twitching or habitual waking patterns prevalent when infants are placed on their backs for sleeping and are not swaddled. The weighting in the suit is believed to reduce the neurological reflexive twitching and provides a swaddling effect to infants helping them to fall asleep and remain sleeping when on their backs. At least a portion of an anterior portion of the suit includes the weighting. The weighting may be accomplished by varying the thickness of the materials and/or quantity of layers of materials used on the anterior portion of the suit. The weighting may be distributed uniformly throughout the suit, the anterior portion of the suit, or can be strategically placed at proprioceptive target points along the anterior portion of the suit.

Abstract: A costume component is disclosed comprising a T-shirt, a cape component, a hood component, and, in one embodiment, a mask component. The mask component is securable to the hood component. Preferably the hood and the cape components are integral so as to be placeable upon and removable from the T-shirt. A conventional garment securement means is used to releasably attach the cape component (secured to the hood component) to the rear shoulders of the T-shirt for ease of placement and removal by the user. The securement means is preferably a set of buttons and buttonholes, male and female snap components, hook and loop Velcro-like fasteners, or other common garment attachment means, and allows a user to wear the costume component without the need for a full body or upper torso component which is often too bulky or warm.

The left, right, front and back electric fans are each configured to blow air downwardly away from the crown at a rate of at least 10 cfm. The left, right, front and back electric fans are positioned 90° from each other on the brim. The device further includes a control unit mounted in the hat and operatively coupled to the left, right, front and back electric fans for driving the fans, the control unit having at least one storage battery. Finally, the device includes a switch coupled to the control unit for turning the fans on and off.

Abstract: A solar-powered ventilated hat with light-chasing function comprising an inner hat body to be worn on the head and an outer hat body pivotally connected to the inner hat body. The inner hat body is designed as meshed and a plurality of positioning ribs are disposed on its surface. On the top edge of the outer hat body are disposed a fan and a servomotor pivotally connected to the top edge of the inner hat body. A light-detecting part, a solar panel and a control circuit are disposed on the brim of the outer hat body. The solar panel is electrically connected to the fan and the servomotor. When the hat is worn, the light-detecting part detects sunlight and drives the servomotor to rotate the outer hat body so that the solar panel can face sunlight directly to generate adequate electric power supply for the fan. Exterior air is guided by the fan inside the hat and distributed on the head by the inner hat body to form convection and make the head comfortable and dry.

Abstract: Moisture diverters attachable to a region above the eye and below the eyebrow that prevents sweat, liquid, moisture, or the like from entering the eyes of a wearer is described. A moisture diverter may include a substrate having an inner surface facing the wearer and an outer surface facing away from the wearer. The inner surface comprises a lower adhesive section and an upper adhesive-free section, the adhesive section releasably attaches the diverter to the wearer at a point above the eye and below the eyebrow, the adhesive-free section shaped or shapeable to abut or protrude from eyebrow region of a wearer and to divert moisture away from the eye.

The sweat collector is at least partly made of nonabsorbent material. The sweat collector comprises a sweat-collecting recess between its inner and outer sides for collecting sweat. The sweat-collecting recess may be configured to retain the collected sweat by surface tension and adhesion. Other types of sweat collectors for collecting sweat from other body parts (e.g., a forearm) are considered. Other types of liquid collectors for collecting liquid other than sweat are considered (e.g., water on a user's head or other body part originating from a bath, pool or other external source; bottled liquid; etc.).

The retaining system may be used to hold straps, such as from goggles, next to the side of a helmet.

Abstract: The present invention is a protective helmet having multiple zones of protection suitable for use in construction work, athletic endeavors, and similar activities. The helmet includes a hard outer protective shell, an inner shell and an elastomeric zone with the outer shell suspended over the inner shell. A plurality of sinusoidal springs are positioned within the elastomeric zone. In one embodiment, force indicators may be displayed that indicate the amount of force impacting a helmet. The force indicators may indicate impact force form both direct and rotational directions.

The lens assembly beneficially provides a user with an option to interchangeably attach and detach a different lens to a face mask for a plurality of different conditions, including, but not limited to, a variety of weather conditions, a variety of eyesight accommodations, or a preferred design aesthetic. The lens assembly also beneficially provides for an easier and more efficient removal and replacement of the lens from the face mask, without a user having to remove the mask from the user's face.

Abstract: A cut resistant sweater is provided including a chest portion, sleeves, collar, and closure extending from the top edge of the collar through at least part of the chest portion. The closure includes an opening extending from the top of the collar through at least part of the chest portion, and a strip having a first part of a hook and loop fastener thereon. A second part of the hook and loop fastener is disposed on the sweater in at least two pieces, a piece adjacent to a first side of the opening and a piece adjacent to a second side of the opening. The closure is stiff relative to the collar to support the collar. A method for manufacturing the sweater includes providing a cut resistant yarn, and knitting it into a sweater in the order of cuff of first sleeve, first sleeve, body and collar, second sleeve, and cuff of the second sleeve.

Abstract: A nonwoven material includes a backing substrate and a functional layer affixed to the backing substrate, the functional layer including thermal-setting fibers. The functional layer can be a nonwoven web including thermal-setting fibers, where the nonwoven web is affixed to the backing substrate. The functional layer can also include thermal-setting fibers and a thermal-setting polymer disposed on the backing substrate. The thermal-setting fibers can be melamine. Thermal-setting fibers can be rigidly fixed within the functional layer. The functional layer can further include a polymer resin.

Abstract: A housing for a mobile device (4) comprises a pouch (1) or case including cleaning material arranged to clean the surface of the mobile device (4) as it is slid into or out of the housing. Shock-absorbing material (5) may be provided between the cleaning material (3) and the pouch (1) or case. The pouch may be reversible for use as a cleaning pad or mitt, and may include a pocket (6) for holding the mobile device when the pouch is reversed.
